  • I would keep them if they told you to. We have had a similar thing happen twice. One from Argos with a watch it took ages to come and then 2 arrived on xmas eve and then from Boots. Order was delayed one turned up xmas eve eve and another matching box turned up on christmas eve was left outside my house in the snow.
Both times i rang the companys to arrange redelivery and both times i was told to keep them as a good will gesture. They were worth £70 and £90

I can see the dilemma , but what about selling one and donating the other to a good cause at Christmas. Then your DS AND another child would benefit.

Exactly what I was about to suggest!

  • You did the right thing ringing them and as they have said to keep them then do so. If you have a local FB selling page, sell one on there and if your DS goes to nursery/pre-school donate one to them for Christmas. Or sell them both.

I ordered a sylvanian car for my daughter last Christmas with Amazon, the first one didn't turn up and so I Amazon sent another one. A week later the neighbour came round with a sodden Amazon box with a sylvanian car inside - apparently postman had put it at their back door and they had been on holiday - I rang Amazon who told me to keep it for my trouble.

Right, back from my lunchtime "look" around Dunelm Mill. Am now the proud owner of 2 reindeer fleeces, 3 bauble cushions and a selection of Xmas hand towels

I have a dilemma. About 2 months ago i ordered the complete Mr men collection for DS from the book people. He's wanted it for ages as we only had a few and at £30 i didn't want to miss out because they often dont have it in stock for months at a time.
Anyway, after having literally the worst trouble of my life getting it delivered by Yodel, it finally arrived, 6 weeks later! Then during the past 2 weeks, 2 more sets have arrived.
I haven't been charged for them, I've rang the book people to see how they can be returned and have been told to 'keep them' for my 'trouble' . I asked the man if he was sure and he said to check the receipts in the boxex to see if they had charges on or not, and i said no they didnt, they both said £0.00 on the delivery order, and he said that they have been sent as a gesture of good will then to make sure i received my order after all the trouble i was having, so they were now mine to keep.

I'm not sure i feel right about it because they should cost £30 each, even more on other websites. What would other people do? Refuse to keep them and send them back? Or keep them and perhaps sell them on? I won't lie, I could really use the extra money as it would give me away to take DS out over christmas for a treat somewhere, such as the cinema etc. But i don't know....
In fact i wouldn't even know how or where to sell them if i did keep them? :o
    *confused*

Not really xmas related i know, but Im puzzled about what to do.

I'd sell them, you've checked with the company and they have told you to keep them. They are yours to do as you please. I would sell them, offer them on your facebook for a price you are happy with, at least that way you will be able to meet a friend and not have to pay to have them posted. If that does not work then I'd sell them on ebay, Be very careful with ebay at the minute they are evil! I would take them to the post office get them weighed and get a price for 2nd class recorded delivery because it can be tracked that way, and list that as the postage price and put the starting bid at what you would like for them, if you can hold out for a free insertion weekend too.

Tinsel is allowed on the stair garland, around the fish tank, on the cabinets and around the lamp stand but not on the tree mum hates it and nobody argues with her ;)
