So far I've got an M&S oriental set which includes small bowls & mats (I think it was from last year's range, was a 99p ebay bargain) and want to include a cookbook probably Wagamama & possibly studio Ghibli DVD.
Does anyone have any other ideas? Preferably for small bits & bobs?
All help much appreciated
how about chopsticks, bottled sauces or sauce sachets? you can buy sachets in the supermarkets, maybe a chilli dipping sauce and a small apck of prawn crackers? will let you know if I see anything interesting on my travels!0 -
Can someone please provide me with a link for a reputable seller that you have used to buy cellophane sweetie bags or cones, I really want to have a go making little gifts with these but not sure of the best place to buy. Thanks in advance£2015 in 2015 (Although actual goal is £10 a day)0

How about a battery-operated lantern?0 -
:xmassmile Morning fellow Christmaseers.
After reading the last few pages I have now realised that I need Xmas cushions/throws/toilet paper and kitchen roll. I have a Dunelm Mill around the corner from where I work, so I need to forgo food this lunchtime for a trip there to eye up the Xmassy soft furnishings.
Bought Celebrations/Quality Street/Haribo tubs yesterday to "put away" sadly Quality Street didn't get put anywhere apart from the stomachs of DH and 2 DDs!0 -
Next has loads of nice Christmas stuff up on the website.
Someone mentioned a fake fur Christmas tree from there earlier, and I thought it sounded bizarre. But it's actually really cute! I want one.
We bought that tree it matches our living room perfectly. The minks, greys and barks go really well with our living room. We got the card holder as well in the same colour and the bark baubles.
I havent been on for 2 weeks or so as ds is having a hard time in school. Its been exhausting!
I have got most of his presents from argos at the weekend so its just the stocking fillers to get for him.
I managed to get 2 of the bedrooms done, but ds new bed is coming in 3 weeks so got to paint his room before it arrives. We've had a right disaster in the last week. Our oldish cooker was blowing the electrics and parts wheres made anymore so had to buy a new one  then the microwave blew up!:mad::mad:
Just got my mam to buy for now and OH presents which is pretty straightforward. Made a list of the food shopping and things which we can get now. I feel pretty organised this year.PPI Claims won £3000:j now free of all credit card debt after 10 years.
Will I win my Lloyds battle!!!
Currently saving for our wedding and what seems like a million other things":)0 -
Thanks for the help, JennieCharm, snugglebunny8 & his missus!
I'll keep an eye out for interesting oriental bits in the supermarket, like the idea of chopsticks I think he'd eat every meal with them if he could so might hunt for some interesting ones & thanks for the idea about the lantern too!0 -
Well, I have now bought all the gift for DS2's brithday on 23rd nov and DS1's birthday on 4th Dec - those that have arrived are even wrapped! I think I've done about 80% of my xmas gifts shopping and generally I'm pretty pleased with myself considering I haven't paid full price for anything and had bought nothing at all a week ago!
I also hate tinsel - consequently I use feather boas instead. They look fab with the lights and add a bit of glam

I have a dilemma. About 2 months ago i ordered the complete Mr men collection for DS from the book people. He's wanted it for ages as we only had a few and at £30 i didn't want to miss out because they often dont have it in stock for months at a time.
Anyway, after having literally the worst trouble of my life getting it delivered by Yodel, it finally arrived, 6 weeks later! Then during the past 2 weeks, 2 more sets have arrived.
I haven't been charged for them, I've rang the book people to see how they can be returned and have been told to 'keep them' for my 'trouble' . I asked the man if he was sure and he said to check the receipts in the boxex to see if they had charges on or not, and i said no they didnt, they both said £0.00 on the delivery order, and he said that they have been sent as a gesture of good will then to make sure i received my order after all the trouble i was having, so they were now mine to keep.
I'm not sure i feel right about it because they should cost £30 each, even more on other websites. What would other people do? Refuse to keep them and send them back? Or keep them and perhaps sell them on? I won't lie, I could really use the extra money as it would give me away to take DS out over christmas for a treat somewhere, such as the cinema etc. But i don't know....
In fact i wouldn't even know how or where to sell them if i did keep them?
*confused*
Not really xmas related i know, but Im puzzled about what to do.Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -
I would keep and sell them. Use the money to Xmas for you all. Might not be the right answer, but that's just what id do x0

I can see the dilemma , but what about selling one and donating the other to a good cause at Christmas. Then your DS AND another child would benefit.0
