if anyone can remember the date it switched to christmas 24 last year would be handy to know :rudolf:
Was also having a think about my db and his gf as they are hard to buy for and was thinking a joint present of a movie night hamper Maybe 2 films one for him one for her dodgeball or hangover for him and a rom com for her pretty woman or 50 first dates ? They are in their mid twenties so should suit their age . I would add a couple of bottles beer for him a mini bottle of wine for her . Then popcorn , salted peanuts, scented candle , chocs and sweeties ? What do you think fellow christmas buddies ? :santa2:
That sounds like a very nice idea :xmassmile Hampers are always a good gift I think. If anybody ever gave me a hamper they had put together themselves I would be so touched at the thought that had gone into it.13 projects in 2013 0/130 -

I've read a lot on here about "christmas eve hampers" and was wondering what they are exactly. Do you put in things for your family to enjoy on Christmas eve? Food? Games? Are they a surprise for your family?
I know you've all probably discussed them way back on page 20 or something but please don't make me read the thread from the start:( I'll never get it all read, there's only 89 days to Christmas :rotfl:Even when I did a thread search it came up with 3 pages of posts!
Sorry to ask what may be really obvious to everyone else0 -
Primark do some lovely fleeces for £3 for any hampers.
Xmas eve hamper can be what ever you like to make the start of the main few days extra special! Mine started with getting dd some pjs, new xmas book & something for the bath.
When she was a little older it was left by the elf.
Last year I started making it a family hamper incorporating pjs, pic n mix, slippers for dd, alcohol for us, xmas dvd, craft, xmas story book....and I cant think what else but it was quite full!
This year I'm scaling it back slightly I am going to add in stuff that gets used each year; santa treat plate, santa key, stocking & magic reindeer dust & torch. I have to put in PJ's for all of us, slippers for dd, choc coins, pic n mix, a little Disney cookie tin from the poundshop, cup for dd, dvd (this year is Robbie the Reindeer!) and I would like to get a xmas story book suitable for a six year old! I might make a take away voucher as we always get a take away each year!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
Abis21 - Have you been before? I'm just wondering if they will believe they have actually transported to the REAL lapland or if they will know they are still in the UK.
Any thoughts?

Awww..thanks noodles, I love that idea. There's only the 2 of us but might do one for the 2 of us if we're not going out on Christmas eve. Yes, I confess, we haven't planned what we're doing/who we're visiting when over the festive period:o
Might do pjs, board game, cd, nibbles, wine... ooh! brain is ticking over
If we're going out, I might do one for New Year's eve instead.0 -

I didn't know hat they were either until I started looking through the pages. I have 2 teen boys and a 20 year old daughter plus me and oh . It's my first Xmas eve hamper and was going to seperate ones but thought too pricy so I'm going to get me and dd new pjs from primark nice and cheap and last ages and slippers for the boys plus maybe a Xmas DVD will try and get a bargain one between 1 and 3 pounds , bottle of wine for the grown ups , nibbles sweets etc maybe some bath bombs for me and dd . Will look out for bog off offers in the supermarkets for the nibbles and sweets :xmastree:
