Seriously? I bought 2 tins on Monday when they were a fiver because it said offer ends 25th (yesterday) I assumed they were going to go up in price  I got celebrations and heroes, I can never get heroes when I want them. Might get quality streets and roses next week....I bought myself a box of minstrels today to stash in the cupboard in case I get tempted to open the tinsGood enough club member number 140 -
If DH (darling husband) is in bad books then I substitute the D in my head for something a little more appropriate such as d*ckhead husband...
I ordered my first christmas present today :j:j I know - quite a bit behind a lot of you guys, but progress non the less...
I also looked through the smyths catalogue with my DD this morning as she didn't have a single thing to ask for on her wish list from santa. She is 6.5 and a lot of the toys are a little young for her these days, but other stuff seems too grown up for her still. I am an old fashioned type mommy, so she isn't allowed the telly on very often, and she doesn't have a computer console. She has a v-tech laptop with learning type things on it which she plays with, but I don't really want to get her a DS or anything like that.
She loves dancing (goes to dance classes) and music, so we talked about maybe an MP3 player from santa.
Gingernutbizkit - We're going to lapland UK on december 1st! :j:j:j Am so excited already. Only 66 sleeps to go :rotfl::rotfl:
check out the pink "august" mp3 player from amazon. it has a speaker and built in torch. i got one for my dd who is 5, it cost less than £10, and ive recently loaded several disney albums and a few story cds onto it. sound quality is amazing and although iv brought her a good set of headphones, the speaker is an added bonus when she's practicing her dance moves :cool:It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
I am just making my shopping list for when we're in the UK in November. So far I am looking at children's cold/flu medication plus crumpets and sausages (all things we find it hard to get here). I will also get some Quality Street or something. My question is, though - what sort of thing do you buy to have just-in-case over the festive season?
I dont really buy anything to have just in case, I dont ever have unexpected visitors, not got a big family. The local shop always opens for a couple of hours in the morning and hes quite good at keeping our area stocked if we have bad weather and everywhere else is open the next day too. Just realised that doesnt help you at all does it :rotfl:Good enough club member number 140 -

Thanks them back and get a refund, I would! I hate it whe they put things on 'promotion' or 'special offer' you have to be really careful as often they aren't any cheap just the size is smaller or something, they said that about some of the food in pound land, it seams better value, but its often smaller weights so works out more expensive..but suppose that's why they are so successful!0 -

I would just say snacky bits and nibbles like cheeslets (my fave!) twiglets & crisps. What about a box of crackers including all varieties?
Also my monopoly arrived!!!!!!!!:) I want to open it but bf has told me to put it away! He's being bossy but in pleased otherwise it won't be fun nearer the time!
Also m&s have some bits. They have 3 for 2 on cards and also half price biscuits and stuff. Oh and things like coins and mini Percy pigs etc. Yum0 -
Wow this thread is moving so fast, been away a few days and loads to catch up on. Loving the snowmen and reindeer biscuits.
I managed to get all the xmas stuff down from the loft today, along with the entire contents as we are taking advantage of the free loft insulation offer, the men are coming to do it tommorow so the house is like a junk warehouse.
I've now got tv in the bedroom so I'm going to decant in there this weekend and watch some of the xmassy films that have been mentioned, thought I'd look out some craft stuff and do that at the same time, not sure what to make yet but might play about with felt and bits to make some new dec's.
I've managed to get everything for my pots of gold even got boxes of 16 ferro rocher for £2 in the coop, they were clearing them to make way for the fancy shaped double/treble the price boxes.
I'm going to make my cake this weekend so it get plenty of time for feeding with brandy. Still got a pudding from last year so cant wait to see if its survived or not.:p
I LOVE this thread, had withdrawl symptoms x0 -
Well I got another person done today. My stepdad, ordered him the box set of all aliens films with the predator films in as well. Bought it for £8 out of Cex, looked it up on Amazon and it was £41.99  Hopefully they will all be in good working order.
Just 2 more now. Boys-awkward ages 11 and 7. Would normally get thm xbox games but decided against that this year.13 projects in 2013 0/130 -
Wow you have all given me loads of ideas, love the reindeer cakes. Will pick up some of the tins when I go into town, picking up bits and bobs onto my food shop as and when I do it. Half way through my youngest daughters presents, and got a few bits for my oldest. Have a 15 pound e coupon on a 75 pound spend for tesco direct so that will near enough finish off my youngest presents, Was holding off using it as wanted to make sure the three things I needed weren't cheaper elsewhere and even taking Argos 3 for 2 into account I am better of ordering them from tesco. My eleven year old as only asked for clothes, a few DVD,s and her main present, her main present is 150 quid so thank god that is all she wants. They have a strict list on budget this year as we have booked for Disney Paris next year plus a few short breaks in this country we plan to take, I told them they can't have it all, Plus not forgetting the little puppy we have joining our family in December. I am on budget though with it all thanks to MSE. Even so me and the hubby can have a few extra treats in the new year.
Got a busy week ahead with hubby returning from Afghanistan next week so inbetween hiding the presents, cleaning, filling up the fridge with his favourite foods and baking cake which he has instructed me exactly what he wants, cheeky sod ha ha. Anyway hello to all the newbies and thank you to everyone for all your ideas, bargains and glitches that have Helped give not just me but others their perfect christmas x'There are far better things ahead Than any we leave behind '0 -
