Darn it! Hubby's not at footy this Saturday, oh well, he can watch footy downstairs and I'll have a Christmassy day upstairs. Ooh, ooh, ooh, I can make some Christmas cards at the same time :j

Any thoughts?

This will be our first time too. My DD is 6, and I don't know if she knows about real lapland - just the North Pole as far as I am aware??
Its hard to kind of imagine what it will be like. I won't be telling DD that it is lapland or anything or pretending we have flown / travelled further. We have a 250mile journey to get down to Kent as it is anyway :rotfl:
I'm waiting to see what the letter says and am gonna take it from there really. I think the letter invites the children to help father christmas. But I kind of want DD to be aware that it cost a lot of money and father christmas isn't paying for it! She already has said before that when she needs a new bike she will wait and ask santa for it so we don't have to spend our pennies so I don't want santa getting yet more credit for inviting her to lapland :rotfl::rotfl:Married my lobster in July 2011
TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait
 2013 is going to be our lucky year :dance:0 -
Where did everyone get their Rudolph Monopoly's from? My children would love one!

Clarex
www.foyles.co.uk (just put Rudolph Monopoly in search box)
was 19.50 delivered when I looked yesterday - they deliver from the US though so take a couple of weeks0 -
ps - would recommend ordering quite quickly as when I ordered mine 6th September (day after others did) it took until yesterday for it to despatch apparantly all the US warehouses sold out! it seems really popular and going for huge amounts on ebay - Foy!es is a fair bit cheaper than everywhere else Ive seen it0

Must admit I had to read your post twice. The first time I read -
Was also having a think about my Dearest BOYFRIEND and his Girlfriend.:rotfl:
I was thinking ' Each to their own '
EXACTLY THE SAME AS ME! :rotfl:his_missus wrote: »I've read a lot on here about "christmas eve hampers" and was wondering what they are exactly. Do you put in things for your family to enjoy on Christmas eve? Food? Games? Are they a surprise for your family?
I know you've all probably discussed them way back on page 20 or something but please don't make me read the thread from the start:( I'll never get it all read, there's only 89 days to Christmas :rotfl:Even when I did a thread search it came up with 3 pages of posts!
Sorry to ask what may be really obvious to everyone else
I love your begging for us not to make you read back from the beginning LOL!
This will be our 2nd year, last year I went a bit OTT.
I have just put in a few luxuries for us to enjoy like some hot chocolate I wouldn't usually buy, hotel chocolat slabs (took advantage of an offer) a few DVD's (free or cheap) a nice tiny yankee candle called christmas eve, some lager for hubby, some bubble bath, a sleepsuit, bib and teddy for the baby. reusing last years christmas socks and t shirts.
It doesnt have to cost a lot.
when bubs is a little older I will start putting in reusable stuff like santa key, plate, cup, mix to make up cookies that kind of thing.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Thanks Snugglebunny - I feel an order coming on:D0
