Hi been reading all of you're posts for a few days and you all have some fantastic ideas. I absolutely love Christmas but if i talk about it to my OH, I get THE look. lol
I need some help, I am making hampers for close family and really struggling for my mum. She loves Gordons Gin so was thinking of somehow incorporating this into the hamper but what else could i put with it?
Thanks and hope you don't mind me joining in.
You can get lots of Gin themed things on ebay - You may be able to get branded Gordon's glasses.
They have novely things like fridge magnets and coasters with things like 'Keep Calm and Drink Gin' on them, as well as signs with "Time for a gin" on them. Just search Gin or Gordons Gin and see what comes up!
As well as a bottle of gin you could add an icecube tray or bags, drinks stirrers, coasters, a lime and a mini chopping board and knife!
Hope that helps!0 -

When I lived at home with my parents up until 2 years ago, my dad used to make a fry up breakfast at 2am and wake us all up then we would open our presents, I'd go back to bed for a bit while dad prepared dinner then we'd have dinner and rest for the rest of the day.
Now in my own house last year I woke up at 7am as my son was only 4 weeks old and opened his presents for him, hopefully this year he will be able to help open them.Wishing everyone the best of luck for 2020 ☘️0 -
thanks My3Girls, just had that email too and came to post!
If anyone likes Philosophie bath stuff, there is a range of gift sets by Bayliss and Harding in Boots 3 for 2 which looks very like it, it's gingerbread, caramel, chocolate chip etc but similar sort of fonts, I picked up 2 of the sets for presents which were £4 each, which are a gingerbread and a chocolate bath cream with a caramel soap, the third is a pair of lovely soft socks with caramel foot soak and gingerbread foot cream (I think I got them the right way round! ) which is for menot bad for 3 for £9 as I had a voucher to use at Boots, but they are really lovely looking sets, very festive and look more expensive than they are.
I'm worrying that the Sanctuary, Champneys and Fearne sets in Boots are very different packaging from last year, do you think people I bought them for in the Jan sale will notice and wonder why they are not the same packaging? some won't as they don't go shopping in Boots often I'd imagine so may not notice, but some might!0 -

It's the thought that counts.
I very much doubt anybody would hold it against you.
If it is something they will use, I am sure the packaging will make no difference. All my family know I do my Christmas shopping in the sale. And they all know if I didn't, they would get a lot less to open !0 -

I don't watch soap operas, so that is 2 channels that are a no go. Do people really spend Christmas evening and night watching back to back episodes of them ?
I know Christmas is for children, but a lot of adults spend the day alone, with only the TV for company.:(Have a bit of a dilema which some advice might be good. My brother died last year and his family decided to go away, so I invited my parents for the day. This year his family have decided to go away again. I really wanted to invite friends this year and now feel obliged to invite mum and dad instead. Problem is before Andrew died mum always went to his and we went to them boxing day. I dont want to start the routine that they always come to us. Am i uust being selfish. I don't have the room for everyone.
Sorry to go on but its been playing on my mindhis_missus wrote: »Will you all please stop chatting:D:D I can't keep up! Am admitting defeat at page 150 AND WILL HOPEFULLY catch up tomorrow. This is a really friendly thread

Why not open the packaging and re-pack them your self? it will look like you have put a hamper together for them?0 -
I'm finding it hard to get into Xmas this year. We go on holiday at the end of October so all present buying has been put on hold for now (got a good chunk of my girls stuff already and the holiday is DP's and I's present to each other)
It's our year at home and now my mum doesn't want to come overI've never had Christmas with just us before, it feels strange.
I need a new tree this year, I really want a white one so if anyone sees any bargains please let me know!0
