All the carp they put on, and all forgot White Christmas.
I really shouldn't start thinking about Christmas TV as is makes me cross.
As we have a quiet Christmas, the TV can be the only festivities me and DD really get. But every year they seem to get worse.
I rush out and get the Christmas TV guide on the day it is published, and spend the whole evening with a felt tip pen, ringing what we are going to watch over the Christmas period. And every year I seem to ring less and less.:(
I don't watch soap operas, so that is 2 channels that are a no go. Do people really spend Christmas evening and night watching back to back episodes of them ?
I know Christmas is for children, but a lot of adults spend the day alone, with only the TV for company.:(
ON A BRIGHTER NOTE -
I only have 5 more presents to get :j
2 calenders with wipe cleans boards at the top (Card Factory - Mum and Gt Aunt)
1 T-Shirt (Any sports shop I see one Ds will wear)
1 Box Biscuits (M & S - for elderly lady across the road who pays window cleaner for me) ( I do pay her back :rotfl:)
1 Box of Festive Friends ( DD best friend)
( By the way- That's not all I get them !)
Then everybody is finished, and anything I see after that will be a bonus gift.:j:j
I saw White Christmas for the first time last year and loved it (I have a thing about Vermont and New England). Can't wait to see it again this year. One of my favourite films is 'Christmas in Connecticut' (new and old versions)- it's on true movies 2 on Wed at 5pm. Although I got myself the dvds last year as a treat.
I agree about the soaps btw. I used to look forward to the Heartbeat Christmas episode on the Sunday before, but even that got less festive before they cancelled it.
My ideal programme would be a lovely festive and quirky whodunnit.* Ebay- 1 Bag a Day *0 -
I agree. Aldi often have themed food bits in mexican/indian/italian, bet you could make some lovely foodie hamper with them that would be much less than something similar form Boots or BHS.
We made food hampers for both sets of parents last year and most of the contents came from aldi or lidl! We got some lovely preserves, dressings, teas biscuits cakes pastas etc. each hamper had under £20 of contents but they were massive and very well received fil has already requested another for this year so we have started picking up a bit or two each week. A great way to spread the cost! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -

just caught up (again! hehe!) with this thread
I popped to the shops earlier today and grabbed a couple of things for my mum from M&S from their naturals range which I'll put together as a little set. I got bath cream, shower gel, body lotion and hand cream and used a 20% off voucher I had and got the lot for £5
I also got my parents' christmas card and some batman pants for my bf as he loves batman! haha!me and my bf have just set a budget of £75 to spend on each other, which is good because last year I went a bit crazy and spent a bit too much! oops!
loving reading through the posts on here!0 -

For my sister and brother in laws wedding they made little inature bottles of alcohol for the adults as favours - skittles flavoured vodka, amaretto etc. They bought minature bottle from The Range and bought lovely little gift tags to attach to the bottles with ribbon. Then decanted from bottles they already had. For the Vodka they put different coloured skittles in with the vodka for a week or two and then filtered it with muslin. I must admit they were very moreish. HTH x0 -
Thanks for the lonk and also the idea for flavoured vodka. I actually have some flavoured vodka whichI made earlier this year. If i can find some pretty bottles I might decant them as suggested
Thanks again x0
