Rebel Hedgehog - thank you for the link to The Range, they have a lovely big Nutcracker Soldier - I have wanted one for years after seeing the ballet just before Christmas one year (if anyone hasn't seen it it, it is lovely...a massive Christmas tree!). Anyway, they have always been too expensive, or too small....but the The Range one is just perfect!!

Anyone after mini perfume sets, they have some on Lloyds Pharmacy in the clearance section; there are several other good value fragrance gifts too. (sorry, I don't think the link goes to the right page...go to 'fragrance', then 'frangrance clearance' - not via the offers link).

Mrs Drink - the choc sleigh looks brilliant.

Now talking of choc.... I think it is time for a hot choccie with the marshmallows and squirty cream :coffee:

Right xmas peeps, I need your help... I wants some really tacky comfy slippers for me. In the past I have had rabbits and reindeers and anything equally as tacky would be great. I haven't seen anything in the shops at all, but...I haven't been to Primani for a while so wondered if anyone had seen anything there.

i have some like this but they are red with multicoloured soft spikes.

i hate wearing slippers so they rarley see the light of day. Have googled but can't find them for sale anywhere.

    these are pretty festive.

Ooh I like the Santa ones. DH bought me a lovely pair of pink fluffy booties from John Lewis last year and I've worn them to death - we have wood floors so always wear them in winter!!! Going to sit down to watch Downton Abbey tonight with my folder and work out some menus :j

OMG 'Grease' is on E4. I know its not directly a xmas film but I absolutely love it, and its always on at xmas, and I love the songs, and so I will watch it from the beginning on E4 +1 and sing along like a loon :D

So pleased with this that I just have to share it with you all. (But I will remove the photo soon just incase eyes stumble into here!) BIG thanks to whoever wrote about it on here and put the seed in my head :D

I used 2 100g bars, a yorkie, a wispa, 2 small areo biscuits, 2 2 finger kit kats, 2 single drifter biscuits, a small flake, a teeny chrunchie and a teeny weeny cadbury's caramel. The hardest part was finding chocolate in decreasing size so it stacks nicely. It's not as neat and perfect as the one linked to by the OP - but this may have more 'proper' chocolate on it. The biggest expensive for me was the candy canes - £10 for the pair  but that's cause they are special chocolate flavoured ones lol.

(oh and you can see my Anamalz reindeer as well lol - love them!!)

This looks fantastic! Might have a go myself:T
  • omg i am so excited to have stumbled across this thread! i really did think i was the only person who spent all year preparing for xmas! we have 4 daughters to buy for, as well as ample nephews, neices, other family and friends! we both work very hard and our girls reap the benefits of this on christmas day! i shop all year for bargains, 4yo is big into lego, and when amazon had 25% off back in feb i got quite a few lego sets for her, next thurs im going meadow hall for my first real xmas shop (where i spend on nothing other than xmas gifts - i do this once a month every sept, oct, nov) and im soooo excited! thanks for all the great ideas, keep em coming. we also do the magic elves, jingles and belle will be joining us for the 3rd year at the beginning of december, i would really aprreciate some new ideas for elfcapades as im at a loss!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

Good evening my fellow Christmas elves!!! And a big welcome to all the newbies!!! Been shopping today for my DD's winter wardrobe as she was in desperate need of a good winter coat, some new boots for days when it's not wet enough for wellies, new hat, fleecy pyjamas etc......how can a 1yr old's clothes be so expensive?!?!

Matalan, B&M and the Range all had their Christmas ranges out :D:D:D For anyone looking for candy canes for the Chocolate Sleighs I picked up mine in B&M for just 85p a box so could be worth a look if you have one near by.

Thankyou to whoever posted about the Range's online section - OH just looked at me dumbfounded when I told him I was looking at their Christmas range online...his reply being "So what exactly was the point of us spending 2 hours looking at the stuff they had in store then?" Pffft men...they just don't get it do they?! ;)

    Hi all fellow Christmas nuts
After being a bit quiet on the Christmas front for me I went to dunhelm mill today they had gorgeous christmas fleece blankets I got one for ds with gingerbread men on but they had loads of other designs £4.99 they also had gorgeous cushions and draft excluders from £4.99!
I then brought some gorgeous Christmas fabric £3.99 a metre to make my table runner and maybe napkins (does anyone know if you can make napkins out of pollycotton?) if not then I will make some more decorations of some sort, they had 4 designs I think from memory I went with a Nordic style one but the lady cutting the material told me that last year their Christmas material sold out in the 2nd week of October!
