  • My inlaws do all sorts of silly things like this, they are MY kids and I let them have the lot when they get up. They are only young once. My inlaws can like it or lump it

Good for you, I totally agree!

Have been updating my Better Christmas app, and thought I would give all new users some tips that I use. :snow_laug

Under each person it says details (as I am sure you all know). At the bottom of details is Notes.
This is a great place to list stocking fillers :xmassmile

I also have a group called Cards, where I list all the special cards I need to buy.
And a list of people I need to write cards to. I don't copy this list every year, I just use the list that is in Archives.
So if its your first year , you will need write this out.:(

Sadly you can not add to archive but you can remove if needed.
But you can add new people to this year and archive in Jan.

Thank you for the tips, I have downloaded this and it seems brilliant!
Haven't looked back at today's posts yet but will catch up when the children have gone to bed!! I did a Boots shop yesterday as I had vouchers and needed to get a birthday present as well. Bought 2 presents for DD2 and one for her friend's birthday. Got her Xmas pyjamas as well. Spent the grand total of 65p. I've been tidying up and de-cluttering the girls bedrooms today to make room. It's DD2's birthday in 2 weeks as well. I've just logged on to M&S website to see their 3 for 2 offers and I need to make my list for Argos next week. Going to get DD2 the LeapPag2 so just need to work out the best place to buy it. Also need to sit down with all my recipes to look at what to make - anyone ever had Goose?

We have a goose every year, as well as a large vegetarian main course. We are lucky enough to live in an area where I can get a free range one from a local farm. This can quite pricey but I don't really like turkey and don't buy masses of meat the rest of the year. One bonus point is that I collect all the fat that comes out into containers and it keeps for months at the top of the fridge undisturbed to go on roasties etc. If you decide to have a goose and want any recipes or advice, please give me a shout. :)

  • Hey guys just noticed https://www.therange.co.uk have their Christmas collection on the website. I highly recommend however that you visit one of their stores as they normally dedicate a whole floor to their Christmas bits.

They always have some really good bargains and their Christmas lights are amazing value.

That was me! :) Do you have the link please as no matter what i put in the search box its not coming up. :( You've reminded me n Asda the other day I got some wax tarts reduced to 25p/50p and some full price tea lights for £1! Im not a candle person at all but after hearing so many people rave about them I had to get them at those prices! (Pear were 25p, Cotton and cherry vanilla were 50p and lavender was 50p although i didnt get that one as lavender makes me nauseous!) I got cinnamon and cranberry zest tealights, christmassyyy! :D I didnt even know Asda sold Yankee candles so might be worth checking yours for the jars. :) (I must admit I still dont think Ill be a yankee candle fan as the smells through the packaging are making me nauseous. :( )

Snugglebunny8-I LOVE the silent night one! Hmm battling with myself lol as dont really have a spare £5 and also at christmas we already have a fabric advent calendar that i fill with choc coins, DS always has a picture one from his Doctor Who magazine and his character chocolate one too plus last year my mum got him one as well so he had 4 every morning! I suppose this one could be mine. :D Have added it to my basket and will see how I feel when I get my next amazon voucher!

Does anyone NOT open their presents first thing Christmas morning?

I fancy trying opening them in the evening (we don't have any kids, so it won't torture anyone toooo much to wait).

I'm not sure whether it would keep the excitement going all day by avoiding that horrible morning anti climax, or just ruin things...

The wait would kill me LOL!
I may however keep hubbys marvel avengers dvd until the end of the day as a surprise.

So pleased with this that I just have to share it with you all. (But I will remove the photo soon just incase eyes stumble into here!) BIG thanks to whoever wrote about it on here and put the seed in my head :D

I used 2 100g bars, a yorkie, a wispa, 2 small areo biscuits, 2 2 finger kit kats, 2 single drifter biscuits, a small flake, a teeny chrunchie and a teeny weeny cadbury's caramel. The hardest part was finding chocolate in decreasing size so it stacks nicely. It's not as neat and perfect as the one linked to by the OP - but this may have more 'proper' chocolate on it. The biggest expensive for me was the candy canes - £10 for the pair  but that's cause they are special chocolate flavoured ones lol.

(oh and you can see my Anamalz reindeer as well lol - love them!!)

This is amazing! How much did the whole thing cost ?
It is a lot bigger than I ever imagined people making them!
    Well done.
Everything is always better after a cup of tea
