Hi everyone, Room for a newbie? I have to admit to lurking on this thread for quite a while but have decided now is the time to join in! Like everyone else, I am a christmas nut, driving my husband and rest of my family and friends crazy. Its just me, the hubby and the cat... in lieu of children just yet, our cat is my baby. Great to see that others are just as organised as myself.
So far in organising christmas I have:
Worked out our budget
Written a list of gifts I'd like to get for people
Bought all animal presents
Bought my god daughters present.
Written our 'menu' for our christmas meals and started a food shopping list accordingly.
Worked out what things we need to get i.e crackers, christmas napkins, some new decorations etc
Made all the family cards
Started writing other cards to friends etc
Whilst I know im organised in many respects, in lots of others I dont feel organised at all and am panicking that im never gonna be ready in time!0 -
In B&M they have an offer on their tins of biscuits 3 for £10.
On another note can someone explain what the Christmas Elf is? I keep reading about it but I have never heard of it0 -
Hmmm dilemma. Do I do the argos 3 for 2 on toys when it starts or hold out for the Tesco voucher exchange, I have 90 quid of vouchers in stock? Dilemma indeed! Xxx0

Up early so in between tackling the house am catching up on things.
I was at a local village fair yesterday and picked up a few things from a charity stall next to me. Gorgeous next dress for dd1 for £1. also got some trousers for mum for same price which she loves. What was nice that two people wanted my details for further events for Christmas. I was going to give up doing them but it really has given me a buzz again.
Can't find any candy canes for my candy sledges - any ideas?
I'm going on top of the wardrobe to sort the things i've been putting away today as girls not around... wish me luck!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Welcome to the madhouse craftyorganiser.:j
Don't panic about never being ready. I know disorganised people, who don't even think about Christmas until December, and they seem to pull it off.
I'm sure you have it all under control. Sometimes being organised isn't all it's cracked up to be. Because you are that way , things can just play on your mind. At those times, get on here, and get them down in writing. As you can see, by reading other posts, you're not the only one that has mini panic attacks. But we are here to help.:D0 -
Good morning!
Just had a flurry of Christmas activity on EBay. Purchased a very muppet Christmas dvd, for the grand total of £2.48 inc. postage and started watching lots of used Harry Potter figures. Would like to put together a box of Harry Potter figures/goodies for each of my boys. But the single figures are retailing for £4 each!! If I win some of these auctions I will be chuffed.
Happy Sunday xx0 -
morning all and welcome newbies! it's so fab to see more and more people joining in! I love to hear all your lists and what you've bought and have planned
Craftyorganiser, I know what you mean, but it's very true what Own My Own said, I also know people who don't give it a thought until December and they still manage ok
I think for us we get to enjoy all the build up with a mince pie and glass in hand, whilst those who don't think about it until much later are stressing their way through crowds and battling old ladies with sharp umbrellas for the last pack of ham!
There's a lovely lady who works on checkout in our M&S and every single Christmas (about 15th December when I'm buying perishables) she asks 'Have you started you Christmas shopping yet?' ... er!!I don't have the heart to tell her I finished it in October!
OH shocked me by saying he wants to be organised early this year and could I do my list?! there is a book I'm dying to read which was under half price so Ive ordered it for me for him to put away
Even though he thinks it's too early to even think about it, he does always say what a good job I do it's great to be so organised, so am lucky I don't get too much stick, it's usually my mother who rolls her eyes!0 -
