  • ChirpyChick that made me ROFL! I always do that with films too ... my favourite is 'why do they NEVER use a silencer!?' whenever somebody shoots somebody in a cop/buddy/Die Hard sort of movie ... but they never do? why???? WHY??? deafening noise of gunfire will wake the neighbourhood .. how do they hope to get away with it????? drives hubby and kids mad!

Apparently Argos 3 for 2 on toys starts again next week, possibly Wednesday. If there's stuff you want, make a list now and the day before it starts you can reserve it for pick up.
  • Ostaragirl I will pm you later, crochet is driving me mad but I will keep trying!

  • My mum was brought up with strict aunts as she was abandoned by her mother as a baby (long story and not very Christmassy). Anyway she is eighty in November, my dad is also eighty. Anyway she said a while back she had never had a stocking so my son and myself have decided on a Christmas stocking for each of them. We thought of sugar mice with string tails and 'wartime' type gifts as well as some ice grips for shoes that we got them earlier in the year. So thoughts......?

I'd visit Poundland, there's bound to be lots there that's perfect for stocking fillers, eg pen, little packs of Ferrero Rocher, mug etc. Also socks, gloves and definitely chocolate coins, satsuma and nuts!

Oh yes, nuts would be one of my dads favourites. Shall look for some nice nutcrackers too. I think I'm going to enjoy looking for the more quirky things that mean something. Son has mentioned a small sewing set too. I think she'll like that.
