abis21-Hi Abi.
I am the same with the crafty things/baking and good intentions, must do better this year.
chirpychick-My OH has the Galaxy Ace and its really good.Mine is a Samsuny Qwerty and the buttons are teeny, screen is too small, camera is rubbish and internet awful to go on. So dont get that one lol. Love the teddy.
aml1977-Hi! :rudolf::wave: I have a large family too, lists are my friend lol! I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters and only one has children so far, I can see my list getting a whole lot longer over the years lol!
Crowdpleaser-My spends have varied over the years, he was only 8 months on his first christmas and I doubt I spent over £30. He had a stocking and a few bigger presents. I think the next years were around £50 to £100. Last year was between £100 and £150 i think, Ive stopped budgeting as such, just keep an eye on spends and try not to get too many as he gets overwhelmed and bored opening them all! (one of the big mistakes when he was a toddler, he really didnt need so many!) Dr Who stuff tends to add up, I think I could do it cheaper if he wasnt Dr Who mad! He loves Power Rangers now too so will have to try to get him some figures in the sainsburys sale or bogof that toysrus sometimes do. Hes getting a bike this year but most of that will be paid for with tesco clubcard vouchers (doubled up) plus around 10 other presents. So Id say this year £100 without including the bike or £170 including. Sorry gave you an essay there lol. (he's 7 btw)
Opee92-I dont spend much on OH usually just a few token things like a tshirt, smelly set, sweets, a cheap dvd plus a stocking. Maybe £20ish altogether but last year I spent our last £40ish getting him a blu ray player from ebay as he'd wanted one for ages. I got it delivered to my mums and managed to keep it a surprise until christmas day. (when we brought it home from my mums I said it was a present for DS from my stepdads mum/dad lol) This year he really wants the Harry Potter blu ray boxset so Im hopefully going to be able to afford that plus a few tshirts, smelly set, sweets and his stocking. Most years I dont get anything from OH but there was one year rather similar to yours where he felt bad and spent over £300 on stuff for me from a catalogue! Some jeans, shoes, I think straighteners and a fake gold style watch and bracelet set. (I dont wear either and it was erm not my style lol plus it cost him £35 ) Other stuff was spot on though! One year he bought me a jewellery box and the past 2 years Ive given DS £5 and OH takes him into either Poundland or Primark and DS always chooses me lovely jewellery! DS was starting to notice I didnt get any presents at home and wanted to get me something. To be fair on OH, we dont really have any spare money, our money is completely pooled together and Im mainly in control of our finances so he doesnt have any money to get me anything really lol. He has said he needs some money to get me something this year but tbh there probably wont be any money left and I am quite happy with my lovely jewellery from DS and I do like a card.
Possession-One of my memories is the Cadburys machine too and also getting the Spice girls album (cassette) in my stocking! And one year I got the Barbie aeroplane I think (might have been campervan lol) and my stepdad spent nearly all day putting it together and twiddling all these teeny things like cutlery out of the plastic sheets. :rotfl:Also being tucked up in bed far too excited to sleep and imagining hearing Father Christmas up in the loft. Ahhh got goosebumps now.
ReformedShopaholic-They are BRILLIANT, I can just picture the snowman one now! Bet that will look fab too, well done! :T
LalaGoMay-It lasts right up until christmas eve then I think the half price sale starts online very early xmas day morning and the 3 for 2 stops. Also they do special points evenings where you get £10 of points per £50 spend so well worth waiting if youre going to spend that much.
Sorry I do seem to ramble, Im not good at explaining things in a short and precise way.'They only had one cow!'0 -
They're excellent! Love his little pink cheeks.
Does anyone know how long the Boots 3 for 2 offers last? Is it usually ages?
They last a long time but they go out of stock of the popular stuff. I'd imagine the big lego sets and the monster high dolls are going to be popular this year, especially since monster high stuff is already going for silly prices on ebay.
Lovely santas ReformedShopaholic!
Moneysavingmumofone - you've just reminded me, Sindy horse! How could I have forgotten?!0 -
Hello to all newbies : )
ChirpyChick - Patch is adorable.
Reformed Shopaholic - The pinata is fab, you are very talented :T.
Snugglebunny8 - I used to get one of those sweetshop every xmas too.
Possession - I used to get a chocolate dispenser every xmas also, and I guess we must be a similar age because I remember my brother and I being really excited the christmas when we got a microwave, and thought we were really posh.
The two things we asked for and never got were a "Mr Frosty" and a Sodastream, because my Mum (and Santa) said the refills were too expensive and too hard to get.
Fast forward to now and my kids want a sodastream and I won't get one for the same reason. I am now my Mum..
"Nativity" update - DH couldn't believe I hadn't watched it yet, and just told me to as the kids won't know. I watched it this afternoon and absolutely loved it but I am soooo glad I watched it on my own. I started crying about 10 mins in and cried on and off all the way through it. I guess I was just in a 'tired and emotional' sort of mood.Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -

if you can click and collect (if you live near a store lol no point if it will cost more than p&p) this is an excellent deal! £18 reduced to £4 and M&P's is really posh stuff so this is going to be gorgeous I bet! Even better if you have a £5 off voucher
Im going to post this on grabbit but wanted to give you lot a heads up first
Thanks for this I have just ordered one as my friend has just had a baby boywhat a bargain

rubeychewsday I wish I had known this before LOL I just got back from Tesco too!! I instead brought a £5 bag + £3.95 p&P and a travel changing mat instead as I couldn't find a changing bag cheap enough (the pampers one is rubbish this year you cant get the mat in and out very easy and theres no room).
Luckily I used eBay profit so it's money neutral.
Just the car seat left to get now.
BBTHREE I always wanted a Mr Frosty too and never got one LOL
we did however have a soda streamEverything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

Ooh, excellent, thanks both of you!:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -
BBThree funnily enough my DS (10) has just told me he wants a sodastream because a class mate has one, and I've just had the same conversation. I'm a bit strict about fizzy drinks too, so a bit too tempting.
Isn't it funny we thought microwaves were so exciting! My sister and I both remember being absolutely gutted when we opened it and saw it was encyclopedias!!0 -
Not much to report on the xmas shopping front for me but I've been busy crocheting some pram blankets to give to my cousin who is expecting her baby just before xmas.
I'm hoping to get some photo calendars made too and wondered if any of you had come accross any good offers? I notice Boots do them but not sure if they are part of the 3for2.0 -
We have a soda stream and just use it for fizzy water, although I sometimes make ginger syrup which we mix into the water for a ginger drink that is very yummy.
A co2 canister lasts a surprisingly long time and you don't need to use the branded sodastream flavourings. Regular cordial is delicious too.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
I loooved our Sodastream when I was little, I've been thinking of getting one for Christmas too.
I don't remember getting our first microwave, but I do vaguely remember getting our first video player. Oh god I must be ancient.:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0
