  • Thanks msgigglewick! I will try it soon! :)

I have to say I loved Santa Claus the Movie (with Dudley Moore) when I was younger and I still watch it now. It isn't one of my favourites but I do enjoy watching it at Christmas. I've only seen The Polar Express once and that was a few years ago, I recently bought it on dvd and i'm looking forward to it - it will feel ike the first time as I barely remember what happens!

Can anyone tell me if Asda have any Christmas stuff out? Now we've moved we've got a choice of a few supermarkets so we're going to try them all out. We're starting tonight with Asda and I was wondering if I was going to be excited or disappointed when I got there?! :rotfl:

In the past I mentioned that I was going to do a Christmas Eve hamper for me and my OH, i've never done one before and I was excited about it! However we are staying with my parents this year as it's their turn and it's my borthers birthday Christmas Eve, so when we stay there we always go out for drinks Christmas Eve night. Therefore I don't think there will be much point doing a hamper as we won't be in to enjoy the pj's, hot chocolate and dvds! I'm happy to go out for my brothers birthday as he doesn't get to do much with his birthday being on that day, but i've only recently learned about Christmas Eve Hampers and I really wanted to do one! Nevermind i'll start doing it next year!

Our Asda has nothing xmas related out, though they have got some wintry pj's out. Got myself and dd some me to you bear pj's with glittery winter scenes on for our hamper, just need to sort out dh's. They also had a nice looking box of Borders scottish biscuits for £3 so i got a box for an xmas pressie. Morrisons has so far the best xmas aisle! I also loved Santa Claus the movie as a child and like you I like to watch it but its not one of my fav's. I love the snowman although its not a film I just love it!

I'm trying to sort out my present cupboard as i have got no further with deciding who to give what gifts to so have decided to get everything out of the cupboard and display it in the living room like one of those at home parties, make some name tags up and ask dh out of his family who shall receive what :rotfl:

Trying now to get everything sorted for xmas as our little bundle is due 21st Nov though I'm considering asking for a c-sec as I'm in a lot of pain with spd and its getting me down (Chirpy cant believe you have put your cot up! You're really organised!) we were putting anything baby related off until after the six week holidays - we have bought hardly anything no cot mattress, pushchair, car seats etc LOL! So have decided everything for xmas has to be sorted by my birthday (11th Nov) as I dont want to traipse round with a newborn or having to be getting up for the postman/courier and dh hates going to the shops by himself!

    So I'm still after the following;

Biggest tub of malteasers I can find for dd's birthday (8th Nov - November is a very busy month!)
    Dumbo dvd
    Pinnochio dvd
    DH pj's for hamper
    DD slippers for hamper
    Pic n mix for hamper
Gold coins as dd loves them!
Hat-scarf & gloves for my shoebox appeal box
    Crepe paper for my elfcapades
    Sister & husband xmas cards
Cards from dd - sister, daddy, nanny, grandpa & nanna
Elizabeth Shaw mints for dh's pressie - a jar of gold!
    Forrero Rocher same as ^^
Gold wrapped toffees same as ^^
App store gift voucher wrapped in gold tissue same as ^^
    Amazon voucher same as ^^
Gordon Ramseys latest cook book for dh

That is all that is on my list for now!
Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:

Could I ask for all of your wonderful help for a 'festival' hamper for my daughter please?

She has asked for hunter Wellies as her main present so I will put those in, with the socks, ticket for her first ever festival (I will be taking her, just one day so no camping) waterproof jacket and hand sanitizer.... What else?

    Thanks in advance

Great ideas thank you :-) I won't be able to get her a poster or tshirt though as the line up hasn't yet been released so wouldn't want to get it wrong lol.

Can I ask where you saw the wrist purse please?

Never thought of a water bottle I might get those squashy ones

How about baby wipes? Not very glamorous but an essential for any festival!
  • My kiddys are getting Arthur Christmas in their Xmas eve hamper this year, ok it's not an oldie, but it's fab, I just love the opening sequence, its so clever, and had me smiling so much in the cinema! I won't say any more as some of you may not have seen it, plus DD loved it in the cinema as we live in Cornwall and she is called Gwen, which also happens to be the name of the girl and she also lives in Cornwall!
But Santa clause the movie, defo has to be my fave, along with polar express, it's my DS fav, and watches it most of the year! Oh and Elf..brilliantly funny

Seems to be quite a few different options here on Amazon depending on your budget...
  • There was a film that always seemed to be on when I was a kid I loved. It had Diana Dors in and there were these kids who saw ghosts and there was a big fire at the end in a posh house. I don't even think it was christmassy, just on then, but it always had me enthrawled. I havn't seen it for maybe 25 years or more! I dont know what it's called but I loved it.

DD picked another Xmas book tonight!

This film is The Amazing Mr Blunden. The actor who played Mr Blunden was my cousin's father in law and when my children met him they had just seen the film and were amazed to meet him

    I think it was

http://www.funkyleisure.co.uk/index.asp?function=search have some cool designs in or as mentioned above amazon do some as well.

You could also get some sunglass+case....or I know I had a modern version of a bum bag. Eastpak do some great ones and they seem popular with the festival goers. Topshop and other highstreet fashion shops will prob sell them as well.
