  • quite a few of the crackers and savoury biscuits are 1/3rd off in Sainsburys - I got the box of Jacobs Sweet Chilli crackers, (Im addicted! especially with M&S Cornish Cruncher cheese which has peppers and chillis in) down to 89p, there are quite a few of the sweet biscuits reduced as well.

In Tesco the Cadbury Snowman, and the Smartie Penguins and Nestle White Chocolate reindeer are priced at £2.30 but 2 for £3 which isnt a bad deal if you have more than one person to get them for for stockings or hampers, not many selection boxes around yet, and no chocolate advent calendars

Has anyone seen any White Maltesers on their travels? according to Google you can buy them in Waitrose so may wait for an online order code for Ocado (not got one locally), none in Tesco or Sainsburys, box of 25 bags on Amazon for £13+ about 4 p+p but may leave trying that just in case use by date is earlier than I want! my DS absolutely loves them and you can hardly ever get them grrr! thanks! :)

they really should do them at Christmas as they look like snowballs, what's wrong with these people!!!

I love the snowman although its not a film I just love it!

Trying now to get everything sorted for xmas as our little bundle is due 21st Nov though I'm considering asking for a c-sec as I'm in a lot of pain with spd and its getting me down (Chirpy cant believe you have put your cot up! You're really organised!)
    So I'm still after the following;

Biggest tub of malteasers I can find for dd's birthday

My husband loves the snowman film, i think i must be the only person in the world that finds it really boring :rotfl:

I am with you on the SPD pain, I am waiting for my Physio appointment to come through it is just getting worse and worse and I am in total agony (and exhausted because I can't sleep!)

I am stressing a bit now about the baby because although I have the majority of stuff and the cot up and all of that i keep reading conflicting advice on bottle feeding, dont know if i need to get a bottle warmer, need a couple of bits to buy still and need money for the hospital car park, petrol, credit for hubbys phone etc etc etc and i feel like i am running out of time.

not to mention the fact that the spd has completely hindered any housework/cooking i wanted to do :( *woe is me* lol

Has anyone ever made a casino themed hamper?

I have decided to make one for my MIL (after she taught my younger 2 to play poker last time they stayed over :rotfl:).
I have been looking on Amazon and ebay for roulette sets and party themed casino decorations. I have also seen chocolate dice, poker chips and coins.
I was wondering if anyone else has any other good suggestions please?

if you go back a couple of pages, someone helpfully posted a link to all the hampers and I am 99.9% certain there is a link to casino hampers which should help get you started.
Everything is always better after a cup of tea
  • wow some great ideas thanks everyone :money:

cornishorchid - how could i forget the essential babywipes?! a must have lol.

lazysheep - thanks for the link to the purses at amazon i'll have a wee nosy through.

sugarspun - might get a novelty toilet roll lol, unfortunately she's not the tutu type!

shonam - thanks for the purses & bumbags links, hadn't even considered sunglasses i'm sure she'd love a pair.

fatblackandwhite - thasnks for the waterbottle info, we've used them before & they're fab - definately cheapes at poundstretcher i've seen retailers online charging upwards of £8 per bottle! they had cute girly patterns last year so hopefully they will still have some!

tryingtoruletheworld - yes its a biggie (tinthepark) and they have been strict in the past with getting drinks in! last year i strapped the collapsible bottles (above) to my bra lol so they were unseen ;-) I'll put in a couple of cereal bars too thanks, and ofcouse wipes ;-)

princesskitty29 - she'll be wearing denim shorts/leggings and her new wellies - i'm going to buy her the zebra hunter socks so she won't need the long ones but thanks anyway! I'll pick up some pretty travel tissues and hand sanitizer too.

Phew what a great list! Can't wait to make this and give it to her now - she will LOVE it!!

thanks everyone (sorry if i forgot anyone in the post here)

quality teaching them how to play poker lol!

We were married in vegas and had a reception when we came home for all our lovely friends who couldn't come with us - and we had a casino theme - it was very fun!

I've seen casino chip chocolate coins in tesco.

What about an electronic card shuffler?

    obv packs of cards..

    wee strategy guide book?

    themed keyring?

    favourite snack & drink?

voucher for online poker (if she plays!)

  • ooh and just thought at the casino we visit you can buy vouchers for entry & buy the actual chips for gifts and use them in the casino itself - and they have a top notch restaurant upstairs which you can buy vouchers for also - theres always 2 days a week (tues & thurs) where you get a deal on the steak meals so could be moneysaving if you get vouchers and take her on one of these days.

    does she smoke?
  • Christmas Lurker coming out of lurkdom!:xmastree:

My names dollypop and I'm addicted to Christmas! :xmassign:

The Christmas grinches in my office have banned me from talking about Christmas till after Halloween so I thought I'd come out of lurkdom and chat with you all instead!

I have my Christmas theme all planned out (vintage Christmas) and I've tried out my gift wrap idea to make sure it looks fab (brown paper, cream ribbon, gingham ribbon, candy cane and a brown luggage tag as a gift tag)

Every year I do an edible gift as an extra gift, this year I'm thinking of doing coconut ice, last year poundland had some fab glass jars, sort of like Kilner jars, but obviously only £1 really hoping they get them in again this year!

Last year I made Christmas stockings to put people's gifts in, it's really easy, I'd encourage anyone to give it a try :D my mum was nearly in tears when I gave her hers as she'd never had a stocking before, not even as a child  So I'll be doing one for her every year from now on!

I just bought some for DD in Poundland today.....really good dates on them too but if the ones on amazon are the big bags it will be better value for those ones as works out around 68p a bag :D

EDT: The ones in poundland are the big share bags......just seen on amazon they're the 35g bags so poundland could be the best option if you have one nearby?

My physio came through within two weeks of me seeing the dr for a referral which I was really impressed about. They gave me a belt which does kind of help and a tuba grip for my belly which dd and dh thinks look hilarious! Though the only really helpful thing she said was when you're in bed do your pelvic floor but feel as though you're pulling your hips in too (hope that makes sense) and if having to stand for a long period of time to suck your bum muscles in and slightly bend your knees. Oh and then at the end of my appt the physio turned round and said well if it gets that bad you will only be resting anyway not going out and about - I have a near 6 year old do you think I get rest!? I am a self employed beauty therapist and have had to pause it as I'm just in too much pain to work. My housework is getting neglected too and although dh is trying to be supportive and I cant fault him I just feel that he doesnt 'get' it!

Have just booked dd's bday party - she wanted a bowling party so as it hurts to twist and turn I can let my dh run around getting balls for the kids and I can just take lots of pics!

I have never bothered with a warmer and nor have my friends (even though we have bought them in the past!). Just stand the bottle in hot water and keep checking the temp though I am going to give this little one milk at room temperature. And honestly most things are instinct or ask any older generations as I have always found they have useful gems of advice!
Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:

I was thinking of doing 2 stockings this year with small gifts inside. What did you make them out of just for interest?

Gingham for the lining, red or green usually, for the outsides 2 contrasting Christmas fabrics, one for the main bit of the stocking and a contrasting one for the top! :)
