Phew just read about 10 pages to catch up & have square eyes!
Welcome ReformedShopaholic, I too live with my partner & he thinks I am off my head being christmas crazy. Was so much easier when I lived at home my mum is just as crackers!
Im trying to have a cheaper xmas, its my second year away from home and last year I have no idea how I afforded what I did/spent too much! So this year I'm cutting back & making things using things ive found from all over the place!
ChickyWiggle I found that fridge a while ago, brilliant isnt it! Cant wait to do that sort of thing when I have little ones, I think my bf would think that was a step to far in our little flat, it already gets covered within an inch of its life with decs! Pinterest is currently like my xmas make & do bible!0 -

Is there anything relatively "healthy" that is classed in your houses as a treat that you only buy in for Christmas?
I mean, we all mention the tins of chocolates, selection boxes etc and I am already overweight but will be desperately trying to lose it and my baby weight and I don't particularly want to go over board on the junky food.
I like the Cadbury elves (less than 100 cals) for a nice treat (cheap too!) Satsumas always remind me of Christmas as well but is there anything else? or does anyone have any ideas which I could make feel a bit treaty?
I know still a bit naughty but i considered making very lightly covered chocolate apples with red and green sprinkles on the very top.
Any other ideas??????
My mum always treats me to a big fresh fruit basket, don't know why but i love it. Apart from that its cheese and biscuits for us!:j0 -

I loved the Dudley Moore one when I was a kid but don't like it as an adult lol.
The idea of you being my mum REALLY freaks me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But you can't be 'cos my Mum is not a Christmas fan :rotfl:
I almost brought Noel last night but decided to wait until another time/if i can afford it. It's one of those it looks good but not sure it's worth paying for.
I want to be able to record the films incase I am disturbed by the baby lol so thats my main reason for keeping the basic package until Jan
I have seen Christmas with the Kranks, I used to own it actually LOL.
My MIL just gave me Polar Express, I haven't watched it before, I'm going to keep it for our Christmas eve hamper.
Polar express is brilliant. DS wasn't really into it when he first watched it, i think he was perhaps too young for it at 4 because even though it is a cartoon, it is a bit 'mature'. He watches it now though through the year whether its xmas or not and he likes it.
Thats what i miss recording things! I was given a recording digi box when i first moved out with ds this year after me and his dad split up, it was fab .... Until it broke! Somethings gone wrong with the hard drive apparently *sulk*
I'm waiting for the same thing with Noel. I don't want to buy it (I can't really afford to waste that sort of money on a dvd anyway!) and then closer to christmas see it cheaper because places always seem to have offers on closer to the time.Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -

I use these all the time... they're preowned but never had a problem with playback and always in perfect condition. For 50p I might give it a shot too

There was a film that always seemed to be on when I was a kid I loved. It had Diana Dors in and there were these kids who saw ghosts and there was a big fire at the end in a posh house. I don't even think it was christmassy, just on then, but it always had me enthrawled. I havn't seen it for maybe 25 years or more! I dont know what it's called but I loved it.
DD picked another Xmas book tonight!1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

I love Polar Express but my daughter loses interest in it, plus it has menacing undertones LOL - I think it could give sensative young kids nightmares myself.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
