Do they think Santa brings everyone presents or just them?
Pip thinks that Santa just brings the Children presents for the Children. I told him that Santa is sooooooo busy delivering to the Children of the world that he asks the Mummys and Daddys to help him out and get gifts for the AdultsDebt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

thanks for the replies :P)
When I was growing up I had 2 much older brothers and sisters so I can't really remember what part Santa played, cos they would get me up and awake when they could hear my mam taking bags downstairs, so i knew from a young age what was happeneing.
I also dont want my daughter thinking everyone got her a present but me lol.. I think I am going to go with they are from Santa, he delivered them, but I had to ask him what to get and give him the money ... can't let him take all the credit haha.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50

Thank you
hellllo.
like someone said there is quote button underneath but if you click this oneyou can select 2 posts with it. then use 'quote' on the 3rd one meaning you can reply to 3 people in one post.
it is possible to quote more then 3 but it's tecchy and i'm not really sure i'll explain it well.
someone asked about Santa (i forgot to quote it). In my house santa brings stockings and 1 big pressie for each child. This is how i was brought up - family and friends buy for each other.
In hubby's family santa buys everythng for the kids, I don't like this as I believe kids should be raised to say thank you for things which they don't do if they don't think somone has bought them it (IUSWIM). Occasionally tho Santa does need mummy to post him things as they don't have all our shops at the North Pole.
ALSO I'm a presssie person. I need to have pressied under the tree once it goes up - can't do this if Santa brings them :rotfl:loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Keep Calm....It's only Christmas wrapping paper. hereloves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0

I was just wondering.
Is there anything relatively "healthy" that is classed in your houses as a treat that you only buy in for Christmas?
I mean, we all mention the tins of chocolates, selection boxes etc and I am already overweight but will be desperately trying to lose it and my baby weight and I don't particularly want to go over board on the junky food.
I like the Cadbury elves (less than 100 cals) for a nice treat (cheap too!) Satsumas always remind me of Christmas as well but is there anything else? or does anyone have any ideas which I could make feel a bit treaty?
I know still a bit naughty but i considered making very lightly covered chocolate apples with red and green sprinkles on the very top.
Any other ideas??????Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

I really like roasted chestnuts but they're not to everyone's taste and are probably quite fattening if you have more than a few. I always have hot chocolate at Christmas. You could get the 'options' ones and then add some marshmallows.
I think the chocolate apples sound like a good idea and are 1 of your 5 a day:D
From what I can tell, gingerbread biscuits aren't too bad in comparison to chocolate cookies etc.0 -
Things like dates and nuts ChirpyChick? and satsumas and clementines as you say!
was going to say the same about the present thing with the kids, I remember my neice when she was little never said thanks for any gifts at Christmas as her mum put all presents in the stocking even those from friends and relatives and said it was all from Santa, and people felt a bit unhappy about not even knowing if she had got the gift, and no thank you!
I remember friends in my post natal group saying they did that too.
Each to their own of course, but the way Ive always done it is stocking from Santa, gifts under the tree from us, friends and relatives - there was always a few things from their lists including one bigger gift from Santa in the stocking as well as fillers.
About children being told at 'big' school, most of them seemed to still believe (or at least kidded us they did!!) until year 5 at least, but there never seemed to be any kind of teasing or 'oh you dont beleive that do you!' stuff going on, especially with the boys? they just seemed to catch on when they were good and ready but my DS and his freinds didnt really discuss it? with girls I think its maybe a little different as there is sometimes a bit of oneupmanship! DD couldnt wait to tell me she didnt beleive Santa was real when she was about 9, (I just smiled and said 'well if you don't believe ...') but with DS he's never really said anything, just gives the odd little knowing smile!I wouldnt worry about too much about him with big school, as it doesnt seem to be an issue with boys so much
I always told them Santa brings for the children. grown ups buy for each other and children0 -
As Pip was only 2 last Christmas the saying Thankyou thing wasnt an issue, I wrote Thankyou letters "from" him to all the people. Maybe this year I will tell him to say Thank you as the rellies told Santa what they thought he would like.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
