  • ....me again, but they did have some lovely hard back, spiral bound note books, reduced from around £3 to less that £1! stocked up on a few designs as i'm also a notebook addict! :) (and cook books addict but thats another story!)
  • Thanks lazy sheep for those links I'm borderline Buckinghamshire and would love to do more markets this year, wasn't such a an of oxfords one so look forward to hearing/finding out about more.

littlemschatabox- Hope returning back goes smoothly this week especially with implementing the new eyfs this term. Im back tomorrow too wish I had Reception as Im EY's trained but I'm jumping to year 3!

Anyone spotted any bargains? I've calculated I'm 1/3 way through my Christmas shopping so keeping it steady. Ive sort Christening present too, I decided on personalized cufflinks, a set of stories and a book of prayers/poems (they aren't overtly religious so hopefully may have a use)
A big thank you to all those who post on the forum and make it a worthwhile place!!!:j

    afternoon all,

had some xmas gift delivered on saturday. Mega excited. I got wrapping paper in the parcel aswell. Ijust wanted to put the Xmas tunes on, get a drink, chocolate and start wrapping!!

brought afew more bits, 2 offers on the forums here. Boots frgrance 500 points for 50ml or above. I brought the So...Kiss me for my sister and a bottle of Sinful for myself, spent £10,48 but got £10 worth of points so now nearly £20 of points on my card. Also just brought the kings speech £1.50 from M&S not sure who thats go to but slowly getting there.

I have also created an excel spreadsheet to keep track, its easier to edit and delete that rather than create a written sheet every few weeks (I like to write my ideas on so they usually get changed)

I would say Im about a third of the way through so far

  • Hi everyone
Havent been around lately, lots of stress that I wont go into on this festive board! :) Congratulations to all expectant mummies, good luck with all impending moves and well done on everyones fab bargains. :)
Dont think Ive bought much lately except some finding nemo bath gels (10p each Home bargains) a Jack Jones tshirt for my brother (£3.60) bike cover to wrap DS' bike in (£1.99) and have pre-ordered both Rory figures from Dr Who! (finally a Rory figure!) I should not have looked on Forbidden Planet as theres so many Dr Who things that DS (and me!) would love but expensive and not available anywhere else! Figure sets, glass tree decorations (£16.99 for one pffft!) novelty things and I neeeed this. :Dhttp://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/index.php?main_page=popup_image&pID=64008 There are a lot more Dr Who toys/lego coming out than I originally thought but Im not going to rush and buy them like last year as none sold out except the River Song figure and all went waaay down in price! 10th Doctor toys used to sell out really quickly but not the case with the 11th Doctor! Pre-ordered both Rory figures though as they will sell out really quickly I think, Dr Who fans have been waiting years for one to come out! • Thank you for those links lazysheep I had a quick look on my phone bit will have a proper read later on the computer!

And thanks butterfly2001, year 3 you must be mad! I'm a strictly ks1 kind of girl!!
What did you think of the Oxford Xmas fair? Is it a waste of time or ok just for a mooch about?

Returned from my trip to the shops and there was nothing in our poundland or wilkinsons. The only thing I saw in the 99p shop was a Christmas cupcake kit but nothing else. Primark had wrapping paper by the til, but other than that nothing! Which was a little disappointing!

Next thing is to look for a nice box or basket for the hamper for my mum and dad.

Blimmin' heck, I disappear for a few days and i miss about 20 pages of conversation! I'm all caught up now , Though there are SO many things i want to comment on but there's just to many fabulous things that i forgot where i was up to after the first few, So instead ill just say ; Welcome to all the new people, It's lovely having yet more like minded people to chat to and hopefully help each other out in the lead up to Christmas :)
Also Congrats to CarlaMaria on the new baby, I hope everything goes well for you and you made me laugh out loud when i read 'slacking, NEVER!' :rotfl:
I absolutely LOVE the disney advent calender on the link my3girls posted so thanks for that, I didn't even know they did a calender like that and even though i've got DS a playmobil one, It was such a a huge bargain i think i may get one of these ones as well and fill it with sweets and maybe the odd free activity we can do together, for £12 it seems brilliant and although only cardboard, If it's looked after properly i can't see any reason it couldn't last for years to come. Hopefully they'll have it in store as well? I don't really fancy paying £4.95 for postage:eek: . When i think of all the other christmassy things i could spend £4.95 on it seems like a lot of money :rotfl:

I can admit quite shamefully that i have done...Nothing towards christmas in the past week, Any spare money i had, had to go towards uniform for DS' return to school this week and i think i have been left with about 1p on my bank account (Im to afraid to check) :rotfl:
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

I think the disney site has a 1/2 price postage offer on at the mo, there was a advert box to the righ of the advent calendar when i looked yesterday..have another look, you may be in luck!
  • CarlaMari- Congratulations indeed, i hope it all goes smoothly!

    Littlemschatabox-
I'm KS1 at heart absolutely dreading it been so stressed about it over summer I've given myself eczema! (who knew you could do that?!) Its a small school and I was told to change :( it's made harder by fact I'm finishing my induction too.

Back on to the christmassy stuff I found the fair festive and was okay to wander around but was a bit small/ limited for gift ideas really. I wouldn't go into town just for it, would have to be shopping or there anyway.,

Shall have to check out the Disney stuff and keep an eye on it, i love their, im a big child at heart!

I agree! There are some bits from Disney I am desperate to buy (and praying they don't go out of stock before payday in 3 weeks :rotfl:) but I refuse to pay that sort of p&p - I am holding out and hoping for free delivery!

The nearest store is quite a way away but we might very well go there before baby is born so I am keeping my fingers crossed they have what I want in store if no free P&P becomes available.

If anyone sees any avengers mugs/money boxes for cheap could you please let me know - thank you
Everything is always better after a cup of tea
