Congrats on the new baby Carlamarie :j
I'm another notebook nutter. Got a lovely hardbacked one that has dividers in and is covered in Christmas stickers. Started this one last year and will see me through the next 4 years. At least i know i won't have any duplicate presents!
Not doing too bad on the present front. My 4 are nearly done and have the other 13 kids covered. Got to work on the adults now and in laws are terrible to get presents for. Have decided to make a reindeer hamper for my brother and his OH. They are just as nuts about Christmas as we all are so i know they will love it. Can't wait to get started on it now.0 -
I not only love notebooks, list making and planning but I loooooove a new diary, in fact I brought a new mid year one yesterday and spent a few hours today filling it out !13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

Well I can't find one I like (for a sensible price) so will have to buy one tomorrow (as I can't actually remember where my notebook stash went). :embarasse

Congratulations carlamarie :j
I've been following this thread for a few weeks now but only posted a couple of times. I have 4 children and as you know its the holidays so theres always someone who wants/needs something so just havent had the time to write anything longer than a sentence!
Anyway Im Jen, 4 kids, I have 2 DS (14 and 3) and 2 DD (10 and 11) One goes back to school on Tuesday and the other 3 on Weds so for me thats when the planning/buying can really start. They have asked for tablet pc's this year and Ive found a good deal on ebay, one is already bought so 2 more of those as Blake (youngest DS) has got the leapfrog tablet from the argos sale a few months ago :T Have also got a few stocking bits, toy story 'post its', crayons etc...
Im Lucky to have a good range of shops, (I was shocked to read some of you dont have home bargains or poundstretcher  I thought they were a basic human right) 2 poundlands, 2 poundworlds, wilkos, 2 home bargains (1 quite big) B&M, poundstretcher, 2 Argos and at least 2 of every supermarket - apart from waitrose which I cant afford anyway. Last year I found 'The Range' in Halifax, its only about 20 mins or so in the car so I will be making a trip there in the near future.
Sorry for waffling onI didnt want to start getting involved without introducing myself. (Oooh Im also doing the magic elf thing for the first time this year too)

Welcome to the newbies! Hope you love reading this thread as much as I do!
I always read on my phone so it's a bit tricky to reply and to thank people, so apologies if I've ever left anybody out, it's certainly not my intention!
Congratulations carlamarie on baby number 4! I'd love a 4th, wonder if I could put that on my Xmas list lol.
My sil had a wee casino win this weekend so started her Xmas shopping, she has bought lots for my nephew so now I'm stumped as to what to get him, any ideas greatly received! He will be 2 a few days after Christmas and is the only little man in my life, love him to pieces! Budget £50-£75.
I'm also stuck for the girls and this is the first year ever I haven't decided what to get them yet! The 10 year old is by far the hardest as she doesn't want anything, argh!
My lovely hubby had suggested we go to Newcastle at the end of Nov/beginning of Dec to have a day Xmas shopping and a night out the 2 of us. Ive never been and have always wanted to go away somewhere for present shopping so it was a lovely surprise :-)
I'm also needing ideas for our Xmas party this year. We're holding it in a large church hall and should be around 30 kids so need to think of games and party bags to give out, might actually start another thread for ideas for this though.

For all the notebook hunters, it will be worth trying Paperchase. They had some lovely xmas notebooks last year. XxAims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
I'm a notebook fan too and I think it has rubbed off on my daughter so shes getting a box full of notebooks, paper and pens. She loves writing stories and poems so it will go down really well....and she might stop pinching my stuff!Good enough club member number 140

Ooooh congratulations carlamarie what lovely news:)
Another self confessed "note book nut" I love them too the only thing is a beautiful notebook needs a pretty good reason to be written in I always think! Christmas is of course a perfect reason to start one.The secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do

Congratulations carlamarie!
We just managed to save ourselves £78 on stair gates :-O We needed 2 (mainly because we have 3 dogs so need safe places for them and baby) we got a £50 one for £16 off 3bay and a friend is giving me one just have to pay the p&p cost of her posting it so that is a massive chunk of money saved and my word did we need to make that saving!
I am pretty much home free on Christmas presents BUT I have seen an avengers bauble and mug that I just *HAVE* to get for my hubby which is £17 I cannot justify but so want to spend! Need tea and hot chocolate for the hampers which I am going to definitely get Tuesday with my weekly shop.
I want a 2012 bauble as i want to collect them from babys first Christmas onwards
Other than that as before I have made no further progress on the hamper and food!
We have some stuff on 3bay at the moment so we can finish our winter and baby prep and then i will see what we have left for christmas after. I hope I don't miss out on any bargains in the meantime though!
Hubby and I have wooden advent calendars that I brought years ago but we only used them once and they were disasterous we werent MSE at all and hubby had complete lack of imagination when it came to filling them.
I am thinking of getting them out this year and actually using them and putting celebrations in (as I was going to buy a big tin anyway) and then on the weekend days put in a "free" activity that we can do and I am thinking of suggesting things for hubby like in mine he could give me a day of night feeds lol for example.
If we don't use them then I will 3bay them.
Any ideas of free activities we can do with each other post new baby? I bet you can think of some ideas for meor even if they are cheap as in cost a bit of petrol or a few pounds I don't mind so much if I know in advance to save it up.
Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Thanks chickywiggle for posting the organized Christmas link (post 1703). Ive started thinking about days out in December. I've got a few planned, but does anyone know what the Christmas films will be on the cinema. I think it's going to be The hobbit but was hoping for something more festive.0
