Hi everyone,
I've been lurking for a few days and thought I should say hello now
I already recognise a few names on here.
I have spent all year making money for Christmas (surveys, reviews etc) and now I'm getting to the exciting bit of planning and buying! I LOVE Christmas and it's so nice to have people to talk to about it who don't groan if the C-word is mentioned before December!
I have already bought a few bits in the sales but haven't decided who they are for yet. Today I bought my son the Ice Age dvd board game on Ebay, new and only £4. I also got my husband one of the Cirque du Soleil dvds on Ebay - £3.50 instead of £15 on Amazon.
I always like to make some presents, especially sweetie type ones. I have become addicted to Pinterest recently and there are loads of Christmas ideas on there. I have a whole pinboard just for gift ideas :T
Looking forward to all the Christmas chat xxMaking money for Christmas 2012!0 -
well, i'm another lurker and this thread is me all over!
As a rule the kiddies [nephews] get to ask santa for a pressie up to the value of £25 from us so i save this over year but normally they want something from amazon/argos etc so will use the vouchers from swag and shop n scan etc so the cash can be used towards other things like the new carpet!
For xmas eve we have a special sack that i full of pjs, dvd, sweets, reindeer dust etc. For the day itself I do a bag of things i've gathered from over the year [mystery shops and bargains]... they love this. I then do my best with their santa list [but i also ask aunts if under £25 and mum and dad for bits on it] I refuse junk and would rather have a token present for them and save rest.
Been searching for some reasonable priced pjs and got a result in tesco today as Hello Kitty GB ones were reduced to £2 but one went through as £3 so got double the difference!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Hello PINKSTEPS, NICKYBO and TIBAWO!
Great to have you all here and join the festivities. My OH thinks were all bonkers but he won't be saying that come december when its nearly all done. Last year we had just moved and he works shifts so I was a little stressed organsing things and didn't get much time with my DS.
So today I popped to poundland and I got myself a oil/tart burner as I didnt get one last year. I had some tarts in the house and much to my OH dismay they were 'Christmas Spendor' scented lol So mix that in with the smell of a roast and it felt very festive.
I didn't get much else really went into poundworld after that and then to Asda. Think Im going into Newcastle next week to have a hunt around.

Welcome PINKSTEPS, NICKYBO and TIBAWO!
Its lovely to have new Christmas nuts to keep us company! :T
I will look forward to hearing more about your plans.* Ebay- 1 Bag a Day *0 -
Mum2one they have the official dates - its the extra's that they add on as they book the trainings etc for inset days that I need to keep an eye on - my work are good but I hate being caught on the hop and feeling like work are "doing me a favour" - do you know what I mean?
Anyway, I've a guilty confession, DD and I were in town on Friday getting school shoes and after reading everyone's posts about yankee candles there was a yankee candle shop, so me and DD went in for a good sniff and we both were in heaven- and then I took her outside and pointed out all the shops that she knows i.e. McD's that was nearby and to make sure she brings her dad here when they go xmas shopping - hangs head for coaching my child so shamelessly...0 -

Hi, hope you don't mind another lurker subscribing here. I've spent the last few days reading all the Christmas threads I can find, including this one.
I'm going to be making snowman soup and pots of gold for starters and I've been inspired to make hampers this year.
Where I live we have no shops such as Home Bargains, Poundland etc but we are getting a Poundstretcher opening next month so can't wait!! even though I'm not sure what they are like..
I've been buying things for hampers and on the look out for suitable containers to fill. This thread is so full of inspiring ideas, heck I may even do a meal planner now.0
