Anyway, I've a guilty confession, DD and I were in town on Friday getting school shoes and after reading everyone's posts about yankee candles there was a yankee candle shop, so me and DD went in for a good sniff and we both were in heaven- and then I took her outside and pointed out all the shops that she knows i.e. McD's that was nearby and to make sure she brings her dad here when they go xmas shopping - hangs head for coaching my child so shamelessly...
lol thats brilliant, I wonder what I can get DS to remember! Ooo I can't wait till all the shops get festive. Nothing better than going into town and shopping when its a dark evening and then having a gingerbread latte in starbucks.
For those who love the BOOTs crimbo range her is a preview on a blog I found....

the original white bonbons are toffee in the middle, they are so yummy! years since I had them! loved the lemon ones as a kid
Big welcome to all the new posters, it's so lovely to have everyone here, look forward to hearing all your bargains and plans!.
Mojoworking, I have to confess to mentioning the name of the Yankee Candles I like on at least 15 occasions this weekend ... OH won't take it in as he doesn't start thinking about Christmas until December 22nd! but DD is already on her Christmas bargains buying and looking for stuff, so I think she clocked it ...
Sainsburys has no Christmas stuff yet, I'm not impressed!! they usually mark down any school stationary etc once the schools go back, then change the aisle for Christmas stuff
our local schools finish friday 21st Dec and go back around 7th Jan I think, will double check - DD gets a bit longer than DS, but DS gets a TTD the third week in September (actually I like that as we go out for the day just the two of us, as it also makes that third week back after the holidays a bit shorter) and he also gets a TTD mid December! wierd but nice but I'm very fortunate that I work from home so it's good for me, but guess not for the many mums/dads who have to work round it with days off work or childcare, which I know is a struggle and one more thing to try work round, don't make it easy do they!
Just used a Valued Opinions voucher on Amazon to buy a book for DD for Christmas, only have a PS3 game for DS and 2 more books and couple of DVD's in the basket to pay for now! and the new Belinda Jones book for me cos I love her, but waiting for the price to drop a bit!0 -

I'm going to be making snowman soup and pots of gold for starters and I've been inspired to make hampers this year.
Where I live we have no shops such as Home Bargains, Poundland etc but we are getting a Poundstretcher opening next month so can't wait!! even though I'm not sure what they are like..
I've been buying things for hampers and on the look out for suitable containers to fill. This thread is so full of inspiring ideas, heck I may even do a meal planner now.
hi and welcome! I dnt have those shops either near here so I sympathise! love hearing everyones bargains ... then wish we had them!0 -
the one thing Ive always wanted to do but have never been able to - and can't see it in the near future, is to be at Disney when they have the Christmas parades and parties etc, they have snow falling on Main Street Usa etc, it's supposed to be incredible. Cinderella's Castle is all covered in ice and snow and icicles apparantly and there's fairy lights everywhere, must be even more magical!
Sadly it doesn't fall in with any of the kids holidays other than actually at Christmas when the price is just too expensive, but maybe one day - Lottery win permitting!0 -
just to say a big thank you to who posted the link for the happy birthday santa, Miss Hoodie is absolutly estatic, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

Joining you all if I may!????
Loving reading this thread, youve given me inspiration to get going!
We have a very small family and therefore I only have to buy for my 2 daughters, aged 5 and 3 by christmas time! Unfortunatley its also dd1's birthday 9 days before chrimbo so double buying there!
I always get up early to get to the sainsburys half price toy sale and keep my eye out on amazon every year and other internet places for good deals! dd1 has asked for a cabbage patch kid, £30 quid! Argh!
We always go to Devon for yuletide as my Mum and Grandparents live there but for the first time in a lot of years OH wont be coming this year as we work in the theatre industry and its really his turn to do some shifts on xmas eve and boxing day so will be carting 2 kids, luggage and a mountain of presents 200 miles on my tod this year!
Anyway, Im waffling! Great to be here!

welcome to all newbies :santa2:
i havent been on for a couple of days and its taken me AGES to catch up!
the hubby has just asked me what i need off him for the kids christmas presents (money) and i said i dont know yet, he said i was 'slacking' as i usually have a list by now and so far i only have the kids a couple of things!
so i got out my notebook and flaunted it in his face, he soon shut up when he realised ds1 is about halfway done, dd is about a quater and ds2 is 90% finished HA!
slacking?! NEVER!!!!
although i do really need to do a list/amazon wish list for the rest of it!
i have decided against the lego/playmobil etc calendars. a friend has given me a great idea to do a book advent.
im basically going to get 24 christmas books which we can read before bed.
i will then be able to put them away and use them again next year :T
and found out some HUGE news, were expecting baby number 4 :T:T:T im not due until march, but it does mean in the january sales i can pick up 'baby's 1st christmas christmas' things :rotfl:Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0
