*heads up* ..p0undland have just started to put out their crimbo stuff
there were boxes near the area as I went past today, so they were obviously just starting to put the stock out..
saw cards, ornaments, mini xmas tree decorations, and a few other bits and bobs!0 -
I hated our new house when we moved in and wanted to move right back to our old place and throw out the new people. It's totally normal to hate being surrounded by boxes and piles of stuff and not know where things are and it all be unfamiliar and horrible.

any other ideas??
Hi Chickywiggle,
If you go to poundland , or similar, they often have weightwatchers pasta sauces in.
I to am a weightwatcher and as far as i know there is no weightwatchers pasta book at the mo. Any of the old books they'll have to convert from points to pro point values which is a pain. If you like i have a few of the upto date books which i can copy the pasta recipes and send to you0 -
thanks eljacock. my friend is doing the pro-points and says she has a good book so have asked her for the title.
Or I may just get a normal pasta book and let her tweak it lol.
i did look at the WW stuff in poundland today but didn't see any pasta bits - will keep my eye out tho thanks.
I loved moving house. tho I did move 9 months before Christmas (and at 3 months pregnant).............. it did take me 3 years to unpack the last box tho.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Hiya,
Last year in the summer sale at john lewis we got a Jamie oliver pasta set and it had a cream colinder (spelling!) pasta cutter and a ravioli press....it was £5 they may have something similar now. But you could prob put together similar cheaper maybe with a parmesan grater, garlic press, jars of dried herbs, jar of porchini mushrooms, pesto, pasta measure. Love idea of the pasta hamper! fab!:)PPI Claims won £3000:j now free of all credit card debt after 10 years.

Also I want to get some nice writing paper/note cards for my nan as she is forever sending me postcards so Id like to get her something pretty to write on!
Ramble over, I just have a question for those with little girls, my god daughter will be 5 come christmas and I dont see her as much any more with living down south and Im not sure of what sorts of toys kids that age like?! I got her lots of stuff when she was a baby & last year I went down the cooking route and got a kids cooking kit and apron etc and for her last birthday I did the doctors dress up & kit.
I like the theme sort of thing for all the presents, so would a dress up kit and toys to match be ok?
I tend to get little bangles and hair bands too cos shes very girly!
Thanks!!
Just a though re nan, if you sign up to Vistaprint, and wait for an offer email they usually have notecards that you can personailse, (just double check that your getting the folded ones as they do note cards) ditto they also do personalised A4 letter size writing,
If your god daughter girlie, go for bangles, some lip gloss, hair accessories, maybe some girlie toiletties, does she like a theme, Miss Kitty or anything,

Hello Everybody,
Please can I join in?
I LOVE Christmas:xmastree:
I have just finished reading all the post here, the tread ismoving really fast now. So glad I can come here and talk about the C word, manyof my friends and family think I am a crazy person….”but it’s only August” theysay, pfft lets see who is the crazy person running around on Christmas Eve!
Tonight I have settled down with a nice glass of wine, notebook and pen at the ready and have begun the Christmas planning, only 114days to go eeeek!
I have my son and daughter, and husband to buy for, my mum, dad, sister, brother in law, brother, sister in law, nan, nan, husbands mum, dad, 3 neices and 1 nephew, oh and 2 dogs!
I also give a small gift to the children’s teachers, my colleaguesand a few close girl friends. In the past these have been hot chocolate conesand pots of gold so I am looking for something different this year.
Last year I did a Christmas Eve hamper and did mischievous elves, I am looking foward to doing these again this year.
I have added some items to MY christmas wish list as most years I just shrug when asked what I would like, I have a lovely wish list holder that will be used and displayed on the 1st November! (Will see if I can add a picture tomorrow)
Oh and I think I might change christmas tree colours form red and gold to purple this year.
I will be back tomorrow eve x

Hello and welcome,
This is a great thread and everyone is full of great ideas,,,,and everyone is so nice. Im Christmas mad, I have been since I was little. I always used to get excited for wrapping the presents with my mam and making our gingerbread house together. Its all about the occasion with me,,,not so much about what presents I get lol
We are buying for our dog as well, its our first year with her so we are going to spoil her rotten. She was took from a house with 11 other dogs so had a hard time settling in. We are currently looking for a companion for her as well so they might be 2 of them.
My trees are going to change again I think. We are having a gold and chocolate one in the livingroom and then we have 2 7ft slimline pop up trees for the hallway and the dinning room which are bold red, green, white and fun.
Is anyone going to any of the xmas markets, we are doing our local in Durham and Newcastle and then travelling up to Edinburgh. We did want to go away but are going to wait till next year.PPI Claims won £3000:j now free of all credit card debt after 10 years.
