Awww I really want to share my Christmas spending with you all, I have got some right bargains (well I think so) but I'm really scared incase the walls have eyes!! And my username is so obvious to the right (wrong?) people (especially when you consider all the details I've shared about our wedding - I'm fairly identifiable for those who know me in real life).
  • :j have been following you all for a while and thought what the heck, I'm going to join in. Have started my shopping for my two boys 10 and 8.

Would like to put together a basketball hamper for the 10year old and that is his sport of choice, any ideas would be fab for what I can add into it.

We don't do the Christmas eve hamper thing but put the kind of things you guys put into them in their little stockings on their bed that they can open with us when they wake up. We also have an evening gift that the angel from the top of the leaves whilst we are eating Christmas tea.

So looking forward to Christmas this year will be the first time that my OH is not working in retail so does not have to go to work boxing day at 530 am ! :j

  • For those that watch QVC I saw an advert on there last night - they're having more Christmas themed days this month QVC TV guide 21-23rd Sept. Least it's a weekend this time, I missed most of Christmas in July as I was working :(

Also managed to collect my Argos reservation last night and my Tesco clothes order from store this morning :)
  • I'm glad you said that about when you moved, I was worried and felt I should be really excited and was upset that i'm not, but when I think about it, it is a big move and a house we're not used to. I have lots of ideas of how I want to decorate it so i'm sure we'll be very happy once we've made it home. I am happy we've bought the house it's just going to take some getting used to! We're moving stuff over gradually but the final move date is the 8th Sept so not long now!

I agree about the F1, it seems to have been ages this year!! I've still missed it even with the Olympics, wedding planning, Christmas planning and house moving going on!! The wait is no more! :T

I've managed to get through some of my Christmas list; i've got two lovely teacups in the House of Fraser sale for my tea cup hampers. Bought my mum a sudoko book from the 99p store with a pretty pattern on the front as she loves sudoko, I bought myself a lovely new address book from The Works for £2.99 and it was buy one get one free so the other will be a fab gift for one of my friends. I also wanted to put bags of Haribo sweets in my film hampers, the cheapest i'd seen them was in the 99p store so was going to get them from there until I went shopping in Tesco and they were half price at 70p so got 5 bags from there! £3.50 instead of £7! :j

Im sulking ... Lewis is only 7th  !!

several friends also felt the same way with house move, wedding, babies etc, our first child I so excited, but the first few days after we bought her home I was so disorientated and felt so guilty that I was crying instead of bouncing off the walls with excitement!! :rotfl: but it's a perfectly normal reaction to a big change, house moves can be the most difficult as it doesn't feel like 'yours' until youve been there a few days - things like using your own kettle, filling the fridge etc really helps, wierdly enough! the first few times you walk in, or walk down the road to your house it feels so odd but it really does settle very quickly, am sure you will be relly happy there, but if you feel weird, just tell yourself it's really normal and in a few days you will feel fine and excited :)
  • Does anybody know where I'll be able to get hOld of white bonbons before Xmas?? My auntie is mad about them and I'd like to put a jar of them in her pamper hamper but they are hard to find round here and it will be even harder bear Xmas I'm Guessing!!

Need to catch up on posts since Monday, and thank everyone but just jumped on quickly with a couple of xmas announcements.. :D

    1) I assume this is a nationwide offer, my local Nisa has got xmas biscuits in. I got a tin of nice Foxs ones and a tin of Cadburys ones for £3.49 each. I am just stashing these as the start of my xmas food shop, but the tins are lovely so ideal for anyone on here doing a hamper. They also had the more traditional Family Circle tins. I didn't see the price but would assume the same.

    2) According to my miserable xmas dodging friend on Facebook "Debenhams have got xmas stuff in already". Not been in yet, but thought it was worth mentioning. Will reappear later when I have caught up on posts.

    Bye for now xxx

Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D
  • The studio catalogue came through and I'm in 2 minds, I've read reviews that they are a nightmare but I've not seen anywhere else that do such a range of advent calendars with drawers (hope that makes sense) and also i don't buy things over the internet (I know get with it I'm a ludite!) but I'd pay by cheque straight away .... also I like the pop up 7 foot tree - decisions decisions!

I order from them every other year (whenever they offer me free delivery) and I've never had any problems with them. The only issue I had last year was after placing my order fine, I had an email to tell me a couple of items were actually out of stock and would not be restocked! Otherwise everything arrived fine and dandy and I was really happy with the products.

    HTH.

I used to love Studio - I can't shop with them now though as I am not allowed credit and there doesn't seem to be an option to pay using a debit card :'(
I have in the past brought lots via them and never had any issues.
Everything is always better after a cup of tea

hi Gleek! yes i bought most of those, for Christmas so havent unwrapped some - some have a little lid you can take off and replace but others have cellophane wrapped lid which you only take off when you use - the Kringle Cookie is lovely, sort of cinnamon and ginger, the Christmas Stroll is quite pine scented but in a good Christmas Tree way, not a toilet cleaner way!

the rest I cant smell too much through the packaging but seem very Christmassy.

The ones I bought in votives are Yankee candles - Christmas Cupcake (smells deliciously of cupcakes and frosting but with a slight vanilla, cinnamon tang, and Christmas Eve which is amazing - you can smell them in the room even with the packaging on!

there is one of the Kringles I wasnt so keen on as it smelt quite strongly of cloves, will get them out and check which it is, but that is just me (used oil of cloves when I had a tooth abcess years ago so I think thats why Im not keen on the smell)

Kringle service was first class, very impressed, I'm checking them out to see if they have summer/holiday/beach type scents now as I love the Yankee Ocean Stroll/Sun and Sand/Pink Sand and Coconut Bay

Hee, I know what you mean about the clove oil - I didn't know just how choking it was when I first had a toothache and tried to swig it like the whiskey tot used to try clean it before I'd got the clove stuff - nearly choked to death :rotfl: that stuff is POWERFUL!

Thanks for the reviews, can't wait :D
