    Hi everybody,
hoping you can all give me a few ideas - I've decided to do an advent calendar for my boyfriend this year, It will be our first Christmas together so I want to give him a few treats in the run up as whilst he loves Christmas a lot I am like the Christmas fairy all year round! I've been trying to think of what to put in it and I'm struggling so I wonder if any of you have ideas?
So far I have chocs (possibly treat size so a few in those days) and then some nice shower gel and massage creams/lotions (he's an athlete so it's nice to pamper him a bit after training sessions and comps etc) but after that I'm lost. I've thought about putting in homemade 'gift vouchers' too - stuff like a real homemade hot choc, dinner out on me, a trip to the cinema, date night at home all done by me etc. Can anyone think of any other suggestions?

Also, he's asked me to help out with Christmas presents for his family and then I'll be doing mine as well so these are my ideas so far:
    His family:
brother 1: something from Allsaints, he prefers this to anything else
Brother's gf: she's due to have their second in November so a little pamper treat for her (bath set or something)
brother 2 : no idea? he's 20, bit of a chav lad so any ideas?
Dad: again no ideas, he's a DIYer, good at building stuff but no idea - maybe a blokey hamper - bit of alcohol a t-shirt, some foodie bits etc?
Mum: pamper/me time hamper - nice candles, bath stuff. She's doing slimming world with me so a chance to really pamper herself would be great. If I can do this cheap enough and I've saved enough I will also be getting spa vouchers for her, me and my mum for a pamper day :)
Grandparents: going to do them a hamper of nice wine, chocs, treat foods and then they like to travel so maybe some vouchers for a shop they like or something.

    My lot:
Brother: 24, I have no idea. Last year I got him socks but only because that's what he told me he wanted. Drinks a lot of builder strength team, likes war games...
Dad: some nice whisky (probs miniatures so I can get a few different ones rather than one big bottle) and then marmite stuff like the crackers etc as he's the only one who likes it!
Mum: puzzle and pamper hamper - she can't use many scented things so will be nice wine in small bottles, her favourite chocs, a puzzle, some other snacky bits and then perhaps mrs browns boys season 2 on dvd (and spa voucher if possible)

We haven't bought for my aunt/uncle/cousins (2 adult) in a while as we haven't been able to see them anytime near Christmas but this year my bf is adamant that we will so I was thinking of a movie hamper for my aunt and uncle and then for my cousins probably just vouchers for somewhere :)

Bf: it's his bday in Nov so I'm getting him Big Bang theory season 5 on dvd and making it in to the centrepiece of a hamper (think choc bars, his favourite nibbles and drinks) so for Christmas I'm thinking a couples pamper hamper, a couple of new t-shirts from his favourite brand and then stuff that he will find useful but not think to buy for when he is away at training camps and comps with GB

Why is it that the men are hardest to buy for?!

ooooh I love these!! am jotting some notes - popping out for a bit and will let you know later what I can come up with - am sure everyone here will have some great ideas too! :T

I was thinking tickets to something - I need to find something reasonable - I can't afford £100 for the 3 of us for something with some minor celeb in!!!

Have you tried checking to see if there's an amateur theatre group in your area? They often do xmas pantomimes but as the performers aren't professionals and they don't have wages to pay out to the cast the tickets are LOADS cheaper. For example where I live tickets to see the panto are £18 pp (incl for kids ) whereas if we go to the amateur theatre tickets are only £7 pp and £4 for kids. For the last 2 years the amateur panto has had better reviews in the paper than the professional one has. Just a thought :)

My collegues at work advised to go to the amatur one and not the 'real' one too. unfortunatly it was sold out last year but I'm determinded to book it this year.

  • popped into Debenhams on my way through town to look at/sniff the Yankee Candles section, there was one I hadn't seen before called Chocolate Bunnies ... to die for! I didnt like the Hot Chocolate tea light I bought from Kringle as it had an odd smell, but this was amazing! sadly no tea lights or votives, just the huge £18 one so left it, but YUM! theres a votive on ebay but seems pretty rare, if anyone should see tealights/votives or small candles on their travels would you mind letting me know please? thanks!

A quick google shows this was a limited edition scent around about Easter time - hence why it's probably quite rare now :(
