thanks Lazysheep! found a couple on ebay but pricey, am quite tempted to get the big one in Debs but can't really justify £18 on a candle .. even though I will probably spend loads of time tracking down litttle ones instead!

anyone who uses Next Directory, they are sending out emails to look at the Christmas preview, with 15% off and free p+p, was going to post link but it's requiring customer login and wouldn't work on my sisters! worth keeping eye out - theres a lovely cheese set on there £10 (8.50) it's slate with a mouse shaped cheese knife, looks really nice! also reindeer tumblers £6 for 4 less discount

I realised it looked like I had forgot after I'd posted - we haven't I've plans for the eldest (3years) he's getting some new baking bits (he's obsessed thanks to me and his grandma :P) and some Ben10/dinosaur bits. For baby we've just been asked to get some vouchers and that's maybe going to be easiest I think. Although I may buy a little outfit if I can pick one a cow of sizes bigger up cheap like I did for friends last year just as an extra.

I;ve been saving boxes and tubes in different sizes to disguise all the different gifts in the advent calendar hehe

Hiya we are doing a calender for our son and instead of chocolates everyday we have little cards with things to do on eg go for a festive walk, visit a local christmas market, make a gingerbread house....you could do something similar maybe make some christmas cocktails and put the recipe in and more grown up themed things...ooo maybe book lunch somewhere or visit a show

Have you tried checking to see if there's an amateur theatre group in your area? They often do xmas pantomimes but as the performers aren't professionals and they don't have wages to pay out to the cast the tickets are LOADS cheaper. For example where I live tickets to see the panto are £18 pp (incl for kids ) whereas if we go to the amateur theatre tickets are only £7 pp and £4 for kids. For the last 2 years the amateur panto has had better reviews in the paper than the professional one has. Just a thought :)

Thanks, I'm going to - I can't believe it's 3 months, 3 weeks, 3 days! It sounds like ages, but things need booking and organising.

The studio catalogue came through and I'm in 2 minds, I've read reviews that they are a nightmare but I've not seen anywhere else that do such a range of advent calendars with drawers (hope that makes sense) and also i don't buy things over the internet (I know get with it I'm a ludite!) but I'd pay by cheque straight away .... also I like the pop up 7 foot tree - decisions decisions!

    Opinions please folks -

Its a Meccanno racecar set, too "young" for a 10 year old boy or OK still?

Its part of the 2 for £15 in Argos and I am buying another toy so figured I might as well get the offer if possible!
