Good grief - the PJs and sweatshirt order I placed with character.com yesterday arrived this morning at 7.30am, so less than 24 hours service. Excellent!

Thanks again Gettingtherequickly - a really great site if anyone is looking for PJs, slippers etc for their Christmas eve hampers! :T

Gleek, I did a trial with them a few months ago and was actually really disappointed with all of their films, I know LoveFilm is more expensive but I find them much better.
    !

Must admit I'm not over-keen on the choice they have, most of the stuff I'd watch [Ultimate Force, Marchlands, Hotel Babylon etc] I already have on DVD. It's alright for free but 24 hours on I don't think I'd pay for it.

Lovefilm says it's £4.99 a month for the instant stuff and offers a trial which might be worth looking into as I'm not interested in the DVD rental side of it. Do you have the ability to play it through the Wii does anyone know?

Thanks for the heads up :)

(and you too, Carlamarie, I have unlimited internet with no end cap on so am lucky that way :) )

My stuff from the Hawkin's Bazaar sale (as spotted on the grabbit board) finally arrived today, so that is a few more stocking fillers and pressies ticked off. :D

I am loving this thread because, despite being a Christmas addict, all I usually do is think about Christmas, make vague plans and get totally over excited. The result being that by the the time it gets to December, I have too much to do and end up getting so tired and stressed that I hate the whole thing :o:(.
You guys have kind of 'given me to permission' to get on and do, not just dream.
    THANK YOU!!

I ordered some jake and the neverland pirate playsets from amazon with my vouchers for DS, 2 days later they lowered the price. I sent a cheeky email to them and they replied within an hour with a refund of the difference! I just need to decide if he will get it for his birthday, october or at christmas.

Hey everyone, looks like the Sun has come out to play again. Personally I am not a fan of the hot weather!
We went through our loft on Thursday night and have cleared out the old junk so we or just hubby (undecided) are going to do a carboot tomorrow.
I am getting to a point in my pregnancy where the heat/backache/belly is making things a bit uncomfortable for me which makes me even more glad that I have managed to get so much done already.
I am STILL waiting for my Amazon vouchers to come through to order my stuff from there and then it will just be a few bits from the supermarket nearer the time and I am desperately hoping for a disneystore sale!
Remember I asked about wrapping paper?! Well I found some in my loft, have wrapped almost everything and have 1 roll left to finish, I must remember to buy more in the Jan sales.
I also discovered a tub of Christmas cards too, they are clearly the ones that weren't my favourite from years gone by but I have decided to use them this year instead of buying new ones.
I think I will start buying a few stamps each month now too.

My hubby normally one to moan about my obsession with Christmas, is this year praising me so that he doesn't have to worry about it at all when we have a small baby at home.

    :)

  • Hi all! I've been on holiday for a week and have just been catching up on everything, glad to see that everyone is still making progress with their Christmas preparations! Even though I've been on holiday I still managed to pick up a Christmas present! :T

Whilst I was on holiday my OH and I went on the Brecon Mountain Railway, and I noticed on their leaflet that at Christmas they have a festive train that takes everyone to Santa's Grotto! It looked like fun, so if anyone has kids and lives near the Brecon Beacons it might be worth looking into. I also got the latest copy of my Cross Stitch magazine today and in the next 3 issues they're going to have Christmas freebies to stitch! That made me happy! :D

I popped into Tesco earlier and they have loads of the big tubs of Celebrations for £5, this got me excited too as it is the very subtle start to Christmas things coming in i'm sure!

I saw some in Mr A's as well. Glad they're in already, means I can get some for work while there's a decent selection ;):rotfl:

  • I'm not sure if this is christmas exactly - but - when I was younger the series of Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe used to be on TV on a Sunday around 5pm ish, and in my head I always associate it with the run up to Christmas, it must've been in the late autumn scheduling as I am sure it was starting to get a bit dark.

Anyway, I've always looked out for this version - I assume it's BBC and had no luck and today I was in a shop I think it was called That's Entertainment and it was there - the whole series and it was 3 DVD's for £5!! Then I saw one called the littlest light on the xmas tree - or something, I recognised it as being a favourite of someone's on here and my 3rd one was Kranks Christmas or something with Dan Ackroyd -never heard of it, but I've hidden the 2 xmas ones away (which is why I can't recall their names properly!!) There were lots of other xmas DVD titles in the 3 for £5 section, Santa Clause 1 and 2, Elf, Santa Clause the movie, national lampoon etc I thought it was great value - in Liverpool on Bold Street.
