So how does everyone else know that Christmas really is on the way? For me, it's 2 adverts on he TV, believe it or not - Famous Grouse and also Coca Cola. I know then that he rest of the country has caught up with us and is getting ready to celebrate!

It's the coca cola advert for me too "holidays are coming, holiday are coming" :T

    Hiya Everyone,

Finally got all my presents in one place. Hubby got a new hifi and it came in a really long box which slides under our bed. So got everything gathered together and in one place.

Went out today and got some bargains. BM had perfume sets and glittery body lotions reduced to £1.00, so got five different ones for my 13 year old niece. She wants gift vouchers this year but I still feel like I have to have things for her to open as well.

Also Stewart Millar had some books reduced to £1.50 so got some of them for my baby for Christmas.

And The Card Factory have a great range of Christmas Cards in so got some of them and some gift bags as well. I would have bought more cards but walked out with my bag (threw purse in changing bag) and so had no "Christmas Book" with me.

    Getting excited now....xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)

    I like the M & S food ad :)

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that one! :D

Always the same music so you know it's on even if you're not in the room!
  • my team appear to have already arranged ours as they sent an e-mail round 2 weeks ago.
Typically on a Friday (which I can't do unless hubby can get the night off work, so always miss out as no one wants to go out on a"school night") but the friday before christmas (impossible for him to get off). So I'll not be going then.

Last year my team agreed we would scap going out in december as it was "too expensive and busy" ***rolls eyes*** but that something would be booked for January.......................still waiting. :rotfl:

Wow yours is arranged already?? That is organised! We usually do ours on a Thursday night but I think it's going to be on a Friday too this year.

I know what you mean about parties in January, my work used to do that but it just wasn't the same in January. I know it's much cheaper but you don't get the festive atmosphere and everyone being happy and jolly.
  • I like the Sainsburys adverts with Jamie Oliver too, they're always really festive and have nice scenes of everyone together at Christmas tucking into lovely food! :T

I'm not sure if he's still doing them this year... :(

Our local Asda has the big tins of Quality Street/Roses/Celebrations for £5 each. Makes me think of Christmas. Checked the dates and they don't expire till March 2013 so I might just squirrel some away.

Every year when they do these tins for £5 i think 'No don't buy it yet, you don't really need it and you can get it later without wasting the money now' ... Then they shoot up in price by the time i get around to it and i end up not buying one at all (or stealing my mums because she gets them cheap from work :rotfl:) , So this year i am definitely going to buy one whilst they are £5!
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

I don't think that he is any more, but I love the recipe ideas and the really festive-looking scenes with snow and everyone happy...if only it was always like that in real life! :rotfl:

i loved the john lewis advert last year, it was quite emotional!

i picked up dd's toiletries set for her xmas eve hamper today, i got a disney princess one from boots it was £4.20, reduced from £6 not a huge saving but still...

have to get ds1 a toiletries set, if anyone sees a superheroes (spiderman, batman, thor etc) or angry birds, please give me an heads up!
would prefer buying in a set as opposed to seperates as thats what the other two have.

Can someone keep me away from the grabbit board please? Browsing for Christmas bargains i have just ordered 2 free collectors albums for the Olympic 50p's and 2 bloomin completer medallions. Then I ordered 2 45cm wenlock teddies just because they were £1.99 each.

In wilkinsons today o got a gingerbread house cookie cutter set for £5, got it home and there is no recipe inside so I need to find an easy one.

Need to go now and search the house for 50p's to see if i have any Olympic ones for the boys albums!!!
