:j Stain out of dds coat.:j
Have stopped washing for today. I have nowhere to dry anymore.
Got to laugh, just went up to dds room and instead of hoovering she has just removed her large rug. It is rolled up under her bed.:rotfl:
Not funny, but it is the sort of thing I would do at 15.
Just looked at the 'Norfolk Hamper' thread. Feel really sorry for them. It seems nobody is getting their hampers, and some were gifts. Most of them ordered weeks ago, and are now having to open cases with Paypal, so no immediate refund to replace the gifts they haven't received.:( I have a feeling it is going to mean some people really struggle this year. One lady had ordered 12 Christmas hampers on a deal they were offering. She now has to get 12 presents in 2 days, having already spent the money once.0 -
shattered now!
Today I've managed to change the bedding, (bf hoovered and polished upstairs) 2 lots of washing and a further 2 lots of clean washing packed away which really should of been done in the week (opps lol) oven has had a big deep clean, turkey and gammon out to defrost, 2 lots of dishwasher, 2 batches of fudge 1 of which has been coated in chocolate, batch of champagne truffles and a few chocolate slabs (waiting for this one to dry before starting on the next lol) still a few more chocolate spoons to do before bed time though.
Got a call at 7pm from my mum letting me know my auntie is calling round with me tomorrow to drop my gift off as I must have it on christmas morning which now means before I finish everything else I need to get all this baking to set and bag so I can finish her hamper to exchange. Needs to be done tonight because will be spending the morning showering and looking after myself a bit before she turns up and before the concert tomorrow eveningWish I had a bit more warning but serves me right, should of finished the hampers by lastnight as planned!!

I'm one of them! I have a PayPal dispute running, lucky I was in the 45 day period. I ended up getting the M0rris0ns deal of Christmas fizz for twenty pound and going to get slaughtered and forget about it :-)0 -
Hi all! It's lovely coming on here and hearing of everyone's festivities! We've had OH's parents and his brother and girlfriend down today - this is the first time we've hosted anyone around Christmas! We alternate parents every Christmas but instead of us visiting his parents they came to us this year, and they're staying over so we're now just watching Paddy's 2012:Show and Telly.
Its not all been great today though, my mum called this morning to tell me my dad had a mini stroke last night and he's in hospital. Apparently he is OK though & has been up and about. I know they're quite common & not always really bad, but its a shock to hear its happened. I have spoken to him on the phone so I feel better and we're going up first thing in the morning to see him. I've always had a difficult relationship with my dad but it was upsetting hearing this news. He's having lots of tests done tomorrow so we'll know more then. Anyway, sorry, I don't want to bring everyone down now we all seem in the Christmas spirit!
My brothers birthday is Christmas Eve and I always felt sorry for him as people would bring a present and say "you can have this for your birthday or for Christmas"! It's so wrong as they are two totally separate occasions! I always make an effort to make everything separate for him and always go for drink for his birthday.0 -
I do wish my Christmas spirit/excitement would kick in. I have had Christmas movies on all day and still nothing. There are only so many versions of Scrooge I can watch in 24 hrs.
Even having a glass of Baileys hasn't worked. It just isn't there. It could be a cold and wet July night for all numbness I feel right now.:(0 -
Want to thank the people in this section of the forum who suggested movie hampers to me. I have wrapped them now and forgot to take a picture but I bought the DVD Ted, popcorn, pringles and LOADS of sweets, put them in little baskets costing £1.99 from B&M bargains and cellophane wrapped.
Trying to add cost but roughly
£10 for Ted DVD.
£1 popcorn
£1 Pringles
£1.99 baskets
£5 sweets.
So about £19-£20 at most per basket which does a couple. People on FB pages and online are selling similar for about £20 but you have to provide own DVD so I have made the saving there and I think the recipents will be really chuffed with them.0 -
Also feeling Christmassy, both have finished up work, presents wrapped and under tree, will put them in bags on Christmas morning ready to deliver.
OH and I went out today for some last minute things and Christmas music was everywhere and we decided to go for a Frankies and Bennies lunch as it's been a while since we treated ourselves.
One thing still to get and its for OH, we set a £20 limit as we are saving so I had planned on getting him Lego Creationary as he loves Lego but it's sold out EVERYWHERE ! He is a big kid, might get him some nerf guns, set of 2 and we can shoot each other0 -
we watched Arthur Christmas yet again tonight and still howled laughing at all the best GrandSanta bits! we then watched the 2nd half of the TOPT2 Christmas Special, also some very funny bits!
I managed to get the bits I wanted from the Next VIP sale, was lucky enough to get one of the first slots - I now have 2 new Christmas decs for next year plus 6 2013 Christmas presents, and also both the children's new pj's for NEXT years CE hamper!and saved well over 50% from RRP, a few things were £20-25 down to £6 or 7
