  • My final three days...

    Saturday/today
    - At work all afternoon/early evening. Wrapped my final couple of presents this morning and am about to do some of my freelance work before leaving for my actual job.
Sunday - At work all day. Might make a few trips after work to drop presents off, as I don't think I'm going to fit in a proper catch up before the big day.
Monday - At work all day. Come home and flop on the sofa! And then probably start the Christmas dinner. We always cook the turkey on Christmas Eve and obviously prep all the veg etc, so I'll be doing that whilst watching Muppet's Christmas Carol [one of our Christmas traditions]. :)

Well, I think it has all been resolved :D

OH has had a quiet word with her and explained that it is not fair for them to swan off to the shops leaving me cooking on my own all day, when it is meant to be a family day. He has said it is her own fault she didn't get a present so she is going to have to get up on Christmas Eve and get herself to the shops while her mum is at work in the morning. So it is all sorted :D

Did I mention I am marrying a wonderful man? :j

I am on my second glass of pink bubbly. The turkey crown is in the oven, all the veg and bits and pieces are prepped, the gravy is simmering away smelling delicious, and we are all playing games together on the wii :D lovely fake Christmas Day so far :)
  • Thanks that really sweet of you but I wouldn't feel right. I will do the YouTube though as I am a big pink fan. xx

I personally think we should have a vote and if everyone agrees you should take the money and go dancing to cheer yourself up with your friends, then that's what you have to do ;) I do understand though, I'd probably say no too but then I think we're all very stubborn when it comes to receiving which is silly as I'm sure we'd all pay it forward in our own way, this is all I'm really doing. The offer is there, just PM me if you change your mind!

Bracing myself for the family party now. Looking forward to seeing OH's mum and dad and my own sister and the little ones (have a gingerbread man decorating station ready - will post pics later!) but 2 of OH's siblings drive me insane. Mainly as they're both really cynical, b*tchy types and are always moaning, woe-is-me etc etc. And they'd fleece anyone as soon as look at them. Have countless stories of them being sneaky, sly and rude and just downright selfish but I won't bore you here! Don't know where they get it from because OH's mum and dad are lovely. So I am channeling all my Christmas spirit and will just smile sweetly!

There's not taking the Ho! Ho! Ho! from me today!!

    Wish me luck...

Did you hate that as a child ? Did you 2 presents or just a larger one ?

What i hated was the fact all my pressies were wrapped in christmas paper and i was told that ones a birthday gift and also my birthday cake was always a christmas cake with a "happy birthday" plastic sign near the christmas cake decorations, I HATE CHRISTMAS CAKE !!! when every year i complained about the cake i was told there was more then me in the house and everyone else liked it .
I think i just didnt like the fact my birthday always seemed to be an after thought , even now years later when ive spoke to my parents on the phone christmas day they usually forget to say happy birthday and often ring back later in the day when they remember.

I felt sad reading that :(

My mum is the 23rd Dec, the one year someone gave her a birthday gift wrapped in Christmas paper, she did the exact same thing to them....in March :D The point was made. :T

I now have a nephew who is on the 27th and no one would dare try and double up on presents - my sister even clears away some of the Christmas decs and puts up birthday ones for him. :)

    eeek YUCK kayandy

enjoy all those off to visit family for Christmas, I'll be seeing mine for pretend Chritmas sometime in January (or February).

Tesco shop here and unpacked...and dumbo forgot to order any ham (not gammon sliced stuff)....so hubby can get that at the same time as the cream.

cupboards and freezers all sorted out.

    Foody question.
If I defrost my gammon tonight/ tomorrow...tis a biggggg bit. Then slow cooker it Monday, slice and put in freezer it'll be good for re-heating christmas day won't it (don't like the thought of leaving SC on over night).
Any best tips for re-heating? it's gonna cook nicely in cola.

    Thanks.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Am having a well deserved coffee break.

Just to add to my washing pile ds spilt coke down his coat this morning, then dd came down with hers to show me the very large dry stain on the back. She says she doesn't know how it got there:mad: So general washing has stopped while I try to get them both clean. Have given dds a good spray of stain remover and added ace bleach, but as I don't know what it is I am just a bit lost as to what to use. Doesn't help it can only be washed at 30 degrees. It is in the machine now, so fingers crossed.

Am doing well with the BIG CLEAN, but I have got to the point where I am just moving stuff around. So am taking a break to get my head round what I am going to do next.

It is still raining here.:( It is just so miserable :(

Next door are out, and have had parcels delivered, so my lovely clear hall is now full of wet boxes. The poor delivery man was soaked.

I ordered off Amazon ( I opened an account for the unusable kindle app) a box set of 6 Christmas dvds for £3.50. They said they would be here about the 8th of Jan, and they came today.:j

Well that's enough rambling :o Must crack on.

Coffee break-same here. Coffee & a few choc biscuits as I'm hungry. Jacket spuds are in the oven baking, but need something NOW. Piles of paper all over the floor as I'm trying to have a sort out. Rather sort that than clean the bathroom. ;) Not going mad with the cleaning, but need enough space for the double air bed to go out and the bathroom is defiantly not in a fit state for guests. I hate housework. :(

Which Christmas DVD box set did you get? Think I've set the Sky+ for 3 Christmas films today! Still need to go through tv magazine properly. Don't want to miss anything good.

    It's called Christmas Crackers Collection.
    It has -
    Miracle on 34th Street
    Deck The Halls
    Home Alone
    A Christmas Carol
    Jingle all the Way
    Prancer

It is the first thing I have ordered off of there. I may do some of next years shopping on there. But I do find it confusing. I cant even get my orders up. It says I haven't made any orders in the last 30 days. When obviously I have, as I had the DVD delivered today. I ordered that off a link in the Grab-it board.
