Hi all.
Not been on in a while as I work in payroll and the run up to Xmas is our busiest period I've put in over 20 hours of overtime in 2 weeks!
Still haven't finished my wrapping and not done my food shop either and back in work Monday for God knows how many hours! Off to Broughton today to get some last minute items and hopefully the food. Then tomorrow I'm hoping to make and freeze soup and chocolate sauce ready for the big day. oh I also have 2 yule logs to ice and decorate.
At some point I need to wrap and deliver all the inlaws pressies! Huge task as DH is one of 8! Supprisingly I'm very calm. I think it may be the quiet before the storm tomorrow when nothing I've planned is done.
Hugs to all those who need them.
OMO my birthday is July 19th.Savings Account - £0.00

Finally feel Christmassy now....off to panic-buy brussell sprouts!
This has just made me proper :rotfl:
I have my Christmas meal out with friends tonight, DH has actually agreed to come along (he never joins in with anything social) so I am very excited about this. Only downside is that I really need to get my big hamper done for a close friend and the mini nail sets for the others. And my cousin is popping in to grab our pressies (and presumably give us ours) as she knows I have no car. As we have company the house has to be spotless (she is germphobic and popped in for a 'surprise' visit with her 4 children. It was the day of the fete so the house was a tip. She sat looking at the mess disdainfully, I could have cried)
Sunday will be deep clean and then I plan to hibernate and be looked after for the next several days
Oh and just remembered I need to squeeze in printing up DH T-shirts and MIL westie bag at some point [/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Just had a mad moment, went to use downstairs loo, and ended up cleaning it. Also hoovered it and hall, then steam cleaned them. One less thing to do tomorrow.:D
Oh, silly me! My birthday is June 15th. Very considerate of my mum, I think. My year goes: build up to my birthday for 6 months. MY BIRTHDAY! Then...build up to Christmas. CHRISTMAS!!! Then it starts again. :rotfl:Own My Own- So sorry, I truly hope that you get past this and manage to at least have a good Christmas eve with your family.
Set out with DH and 2 younger DS's last night to pick up a couple of bits from Argos and then a bit of SM (just realised how appropriate these initials are :rotfl:) shopping. We got as far as Argos then chickened out and went for a belated birthday meal instead- which was, even though just basic pub food, was really lovely. Dh then kindly offered to go back out later and get what was on my shopping list.:T I haven't checked what he got yet (was in bed when he got back) but hopefully it has some resemblance to what I wanted
I am about to start cooking Lorraine Pascals cranberry and nut pie now, as DH doesn't eat meat, so we always have a big veggie main course as well as a bird.
Hopefully going to see a farm that has a Christmas shop in their barn later, it looks lovely on the adverts so I hope it's worth the drive or I will get lynched after the Christmas market fiasco!
Risky- foil wrapping? Had never thought of that, sounds like a plan for next year.
OMO my birthday is December 16th.
Yes, I did have a nap.Blossom snoozed on her radiator bed & I fell asleep for about 45 mins-after only reading a few pages of my book.
That cranberry & nut pie sounds nice. Off to google it.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Did you hate that as a child ? Did you 2 presents or just a larger one ?Own My Own- So sorry, I truly hope that you get past this and manage to at least have a good Christmas eve with your family.
.
Past what ?
The washing on the landing IS passable now. I have done 6 wash loads. 3 of which were bath towels. Even though nobody had any when I asked in the week. Only another 4 to go.0 -
Morning,
Hugs to reformedshopaholic, hope you can work things out xxx
Survived Mr A's at 5.30pm yesterday. I managed to do the weekly little shop (as I had already got a lot in) before Hubby had finished his shopping for stocking fillers for me.
Mden should not be allowed to shop alone, I realise this now. He put four cans and 4 bottles of wine into a little plastic bag which fell apart as he got to the van, smashing a bottle. Amazingly two other bottles seem to bounce and survived. They very nicely replaced the bottle as the bag was clearly dodgy they said -NO my potty Hubby had overstuffed the bag!
Just need to label dad's vodka and wrap and I'm all done.
I hope you all have an incredible Christmas and all of your hard work pays off. Enjoy spending time with your families and friends and raise a glass to those who are no longer with you to celebrate this wonderful time. I hope Santa brings you everything you desire. See you all in 2013 hopefully when we start planning for it all over again. MERRY CHRISTMAS xxx0 -

What i hated was the fact all my pressies were wrapped in christmas paper and i was told that ones a birthday gift and also my birthday cake was always a christmas cake with a "happy birthday" plastic sign near the christmas cake decorations, I HATE CHRISTMAS CAKE !!! when every year i complained about the cake i was told there was more then me in the house and everyone else liked it .
I think i just didnt like the fact my birthday always seemed to be an after thought , even now years later when ive spoke to my parents on the phone christmas day they usually forget to say happy birthday and often ring back later in the day when they remember. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
