  • Not had time to get up to date and will be off line until new year as I will be away.

Just want to wish you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas, hope everyone really enjoys what you have done for them, bought for them (and you can smugly know how much less it cost :)), kids enjoy what Santa has left, and most importantly, those of you going through good new times, or not so great, can relax and enjoy some quality me time.

    Here's to a wonderful 2013.
Hope you have a wonderful christmas. :xmastree:

Well I could cry after walking to the post office spending a ridiculous amount of money on parcels that probably wont even get there on time :( and having to get a lift from FIL to the Drs (thank goodness for him or we'd have had to walk 45 mins to Drs!) to get my new prescription I was feeling a bit weak and disorientated and Ive managed to knock my most favourite ornament, a large white ceramic CHRISTMAS sign with Mary, Joseph and Jesus figures and broken the big C in half and knocked the figures off plus Josephs head has broken off. :( Bah! Not the worlds biggest problem I know but its the icing on the cake at the end of a rubbish week!!

:j I have finished work, cleaned the kitchen and drunk 2 glasses of wine.:o

Confucius !!! (Not the Chinese Philosopher, but my own version of Latin, meaning - I am confused ) ( I did say 2 GLASSES OF WINE):rotfl:

Anyway, ex-boss text me this afternoon, to say I had won a prize in the works raffle. Now I know what was in the raffle, and the tub of Celebrations I won wasn't one of them. You could think it was a sly leaving pressy, only everyone looked VERY uncomfortable when I turned up to get it.
Was it a test and I called her bluff ? Don't know. In the text it said it was at the front counter, but it wasn't.!!!!!!! I had to wait why someone went to find it !!!!!!

ETA - The draw was on Monday, not 40 mins before they shut for Christmas today !!!

Then dd phoned. I had asked her and ds to tidy their rooms while I was at work. BIG MISTAKE

    This is the conversation-

dd- Just giving you the 'Heads Up' about the washing on the landing. There is loads.

Me- Why is the washing on the landing and not in the laundry basket ?

dd- Because we filled the laundry basket. Doh!!

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Am on 3rd wash not yet in basket.

    Xmas Saver!
Oh my Days, I am such an idiot.
Just found a lovely free Christmas List app on tablet. So I downloaded and made my list of people. I then add all the pressies I have put away for next year. Not easy after 2 glasses of wine ( I have become a bit of a light weight :o ). I then read the bottom and it says ONLY 4 DAYS TO GO.:eek: Meaning my new list is set to be archived :eek:

Have just deleted and re-downloaded ready to fill in next week. What a complete waste of 40 minutes.

Have also started sneezing. I do hope I haven't got the beginnings of a cold.
  • Reformed shopaholic - Facebook has a lot to answer for it airs everyone's private life & allows people to say things they can't say in person. A few yrs back I had a very similar issue found messages my dh had exchanged with an ex, quite flirty & a lot of moaning about me. He said there was nothing in it he just thought it was harmless fun & although I trusted him 100% it knocked me for six & I actually went to my parents with kids for 4 days with dh constantly phoning etc. I realised he is an insecure hopeless flirt & I soon after learnt to accept him for who he is. We love & trust each other but everyone feels insecure or un loved at times & FB gave him the opportunity to share this with an ex grrr! We don't use FB anymore & make more time for each other. I know he would never cheat on me or throw away what we have but it still hearts to think he shared intimate thoughts with another! I hope you can move past this & enjoy Xmas & ur love for one another... We all make mistakes, men are just less careful about theirs !!! X

  • Thank you for the kind messages everyone xx

OMO maybe its the wine making you sneeze? Everyone always knows when I have "had enough to drink" as I always start sneezing, no matter what the drink is.

  • Reformed Shopaholic, a great big hug to you! Just before my DH proposed to me (about 9 years ago) he decided to start speaking to his ex. I stupidly gave my blessing as he claimed he simply missed her friendship. Anyway, I too found flirty messages and told him I wouldn't compete. We separated for 4 days, but after some head space we decided to give things another go. Like you, initially I struggled with trust. I found myself full of self doubt, and would cry/lash out at the drop of a hat. I heard a song that had the lyrics "what's done is done, just leave it alone but don't forget it". This really struck a chord with me. If I decided to stay with my guy, then I had to move past what had happened, but at the same time keep an eye out for any warnings that it could be happening again.

Well I had my very own Christmas miracle today :) I am a free-lance Dental Nurse and have worked with one practice at least once a week throughout the year. Well it was my last day with them until February and I was presented with my Christmas present - £100 worth of John Lewis/Waitrose vouchers and two big bottles of proper Champagne!
I have spent £50 on scrummy food for Christmas :) I also managed to squeeze in a trip to get my hair cut, picked up the dogs worming tablets and cleaned the kitchen.

I still have lots to do, but am shattered (long morning at work) so think I will just pick it up tomorrow. Have decided to scale back my plans for gifts etc as I am just getting stressed, so not worth ruining my Christmas over.

  • Did my 'big' Christmas shop at about 7.30pm - after work. It was lovely and quiet. No queues. Clear aisles. And, I was able to get everything - including the turkey - in one trip. Perfect. :)
  • Reformed Shopaholic sorry to hear about your oh. As others say you have to go with how you feel but don't let anyone make you feel bad.
Went to Sains tonight for last few stocking fillers - was dreading it but it wasn't busy and I managed to get a few bargains. Not all of them on my list!!
Sat playing Rudolph monopoly with youngest ds and his girlfriend. I will win! Or maybe not.....
