Sugarspun so sorry to hear about your dad, I went through the same thing last year with my grandmother who I was very close too. I can only assure you through personal experience that the staff really will do all they can for your dad and I am sending prayers and wishes to your whole family x
Decided after 3 weeks of being ill its about time I took a day off work! Offically ill for 3 weeks today, 5 days of antibiotics and Ive got worse rather than better earache has turned into swollen glands, sore throat and chest to the point Ive been up since 3am cos I couldnt lie down! Waiting until 8.30am to phone doctor and get an emergency appointment because im worried my asthma is going to be effected over christmas if this keeps up!
Ive got the planner lined up with films, got a stew in the fridge for lunch, all the trees been lit already and ready for a day of comforting lol hope you are all having a much better day!Life is what you make it.0 -

Thanks everyone. It's hard to know what to do when there's no time frame and no real plan. We don't live near my family so it's going to be hard work sorting it all out.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Thank you Nanamia got a doctor appointment at 10.40 - they kept reminding me "its only a 5 mins appointment" I kept reminding them that after being on antibiotics and having bad asthma and on the advice of the doctor last week I need to see them. Whats the bet they run late, Im waiting forever and barely get to say 2 words before my appointment is over lolLife is what you make it.0 -

LOL. She is not brave at all. She just hates needles that much, she would rather have her gums cut open with no pain relief than have an injection.0 -
Thanks for the Arthur Christmas link, just bought it!0

daisiegg-Gorgeous photos! Some are sideways and one is upside down, doesnt bother me lol but thought Id mention as you asked.Where is your wooden nativity from? Its lovely! Also great idea to display the cake stand with candy canes on, I saw a christmas cake stand in HB and resisted as I wouldnt get much use out of it but might grab it if I see it again!
Thank youI will try and take some with a camera tonight that hopefully won't be upside down and put them back up
I'm afraid I really can't remember where the wooden nativity is from! I am trying to rack my brains but I have no idea...sorryI do like it though, it is not my usual style - I would love a really beautiful traditional crib, but they are so eye wateringly expensive my cute wooden one will do for now
The candy canes on the cake stand are temporary - when the tree goes up I will put the candy canes on the tree and then put chocolates on the cake standit's weird really because it's way too small to actually put any cakes on so I wonder what it is meant to be intended for. But I got it from The Range for about £4 so I couldn't resist!
Hope everyone is feeling cheerful and Christmassy todayit is my day off work and I slept in until HALF PAST TEN  I feel better for it though and I really needed it - particularly as I am very much not looking forward to a 14 hour work day on Thursday.
Today I am going to watch Christmas movies and hopefully get all or most of my wrapping done, ready to go straight under the tree when we get one on SaturdayI have brought home NO work (unusual for me) - and the cleaner comes tomorrow and I have got dinner out of the freezer so I don't even have to do any housework! So I am going to have a day totally dedicated to CHRISTMAS!!!! :j:j:j:j

Well without going over old ground, you all now that Christmas is actually not my favourite time of year.
Seeing all the houses decorated on my way to work this morning reminded me how close it is, and how different mine will be.
Am trying to stay positive as always, but I can feel myself getting more depressed by the minute.
You would think I would be getting used to it by now, but I don't seem to be.
Am going to concentrate on my stall this week, then see what next week brings.0
