No buying unnecessary toiletries in May - Challenge

Skin type is probably dry/combination. Often feels tight but prone to spots in the T-zone. A lot of the milia are around my eyes and I'm wondering if its prolonged use of oil-based eye makeup removers rather than a moisturiser issue. Either way, my skin feels dry a lot of the time so the clinique isn't doing its job.
New moisturiser definitely needed (and milia exterminator - do these exist?)
Hi Ammonite, do you use an exfoliator? I have found that the Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub really helps to clear up milia.
Have been out to John Lewis and was good - well had to be!! Only went for a gift card for my lovely boss who is leaving on Friday. Had a collection for her and decided to get her this so she can choose whatever she likes. Saw the new OPI New York Ballet colours. Tried on the one I thought I liked over the top of my current lacquer and was not very impressed. Was too sheer for my liking. Also tried the new Philosophy Summer Grace. Was thinking that it was very similar to another perfume that I had had before and it is a copy of Avon Tahitian Holiday! Will not be buying. Saw that the Elemis offer is not on yet. Looked around the handbags and Radley have some gorgeous designs/colours this season. Had fun trying them on! xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Here is my first ever decluttering post as a newbie to this thread.
1) UU - Burt's Bees Grapefruit & Sugar Beet shampoo. I would repurchase this even though I hate using it. It's really hard to distribute it over your scalp and you have to use a lot, but the shampoo and the conditioner leave my hair in great condition so I would buy it again.
2) Eyeko Glossy Lip Pen. I bought a bag of Eyeko products cheap in TK Maxx last year. I had heard people go on about them and wanted to try them. So far, I have been very disappointed. I thought they were a cheap and cheerful teenage range, but they are actually quite expensive so I am even more disappointed. This version of the Clinique chubby stick is horrible. It feels uncomfortable on and looks horrible. In the bin it goes.
3) Jelly Belly lip balm/gloss. I love the jelly beans so I was given this as a present. For what is presumably a novelty product it's actually quite good, but I have been using it for ages and I have better products in my stash so I am also binning this.0 -
Welcome Hermia (and all other newbies!)
1 in today - Lidl pomegranite pip and avocado stone (or soemthing like that) body butter. was 2.99, smells ok and means i can chuck the gardeners hand protecter that ive been using as a daily body moisturiser. Ive got about half way down it, but i really dont like it much !!
and Ive gone spotty againI really dont want to re-buy yet, cos ive got the exfoliator still (tesco cucumber) and still some toner - but my main question is do you lot think that my cleanser isnt doing me any good? Ive had the benefit face cleanser for about 2 years now, and i love it- but im wondering if its that.... Im loath to throw it though, cos it was so expensive !!
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
99p & £1 shops
you can get tampons as well as most branded toilettries there. Massive plus - food supplements/vitamins are all the same (however much you pay for them) so may as well pay £1.
Whatever they don't have in stock at that time get in Liddles or Aldi - the mouthwashes & dental stuff is excellent.0 -
I now use shower gel on the face - instead of forking out for facial stuff & using aloe vera as toner if required0
-
I have UU's
Ark Age maintain 2ml pots of each of the following
Cleanser
Exfoliator
Masque
Moisturiser
Probably WNBA don't seem to be anything special and samples are big enough to use more than once.0 -

No, cannot agree with you here, not only do the quantities of the product (i.e. b12, b6 or whatever) vary from make to make, but the type of the vitamin/mineral and how well the body uses it differs greatly, e.g. natural as against synthetic forms. If you want just a general top up after a rubbish few weeks of eating, no problem, but if you have illness/deficiency it matters a lot.
I have read good things on Aldi and Lidle oral care too.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
2 ins for me:
L'Occitane 50ml Cleansing Gel
L'Occitane 50ml Face Toner
These were the freebies from WH Smith & Glamour. I didnt bother getting the moisturiser as it was much smaller, 20ml I think. So I got Good Housekeeping and will get the Precious Moisteriser. Thats my toiletries for our holidays sorted, yay!!0 -
A bit of activity this afternoon, a few IN and a few GA:
IN - Botanics Organic Face Rosewater Toner - I must admit I don't very often use a toner but have several cream based cleansers I want to UU from my original stash once the foaming one I'm using at the moment is finished, which I prefer, before I buy any more of those and I feel these will be better for my skin if I follow them up with a toner. This smells gorgeous and was a bargain £1.24 fro the clearance shelves - I think they're changing the Botanics packaging so may be a clearance feature across Boots generally - if there's any Botanics products you regularly use you might get them at a bargain price at the moment.
The other two IN are incidental really but will still be added to the stash - I needed hair dye which was on offer 2 for £10 in Boots so I have two conditioners out of L'Oreal Excell 10 hair colour which is my HG home colour (I like Chocolate Brown lately). I never count the dye itself into the stash as I don't really hoard these, the most I'll have 'in stock' is one when they're on offer like this which is regularly.
The GA are Clarins Extra Firming Day Cream and Tesco Finest Shimmer Body Balm and Shimmer Body Brush which are all going to my Mum as are simply items I won't use, I think the Clarins would be too rich as designed for 40+ skin and I don't really see the point of anything that's just shimmer.
So 3 x IN, 3 x GA - evens things out at least!
Have several splutterers at the moment so hopefully won't be too long before I've more UU but sometimes difficult to predict exactly how long they'll last, have a few items in cut down tubes so they definitely shouldn't be far from finished!0 -
More UU
Sanctuary Hair and Scalp Rescue Mud 20ml - not sure if this is a BA or not yet, but it was nice
Plus reporting another Garnier Body Sachet for tonight.
Now off to sort out Nails.0
