DYes it was me! Thanks for letting me know. That will be getting added to the items to try list. I only have 2 mascaras left so I shouldn't have to wait too long .
Also my oldest product is now a UU. Issey Miyake perfume has finally gone. WIBA? I don't think so. For years this was my fav but I think I have now evolved past it or maybe sickened myself of it. Anyway I look at it now it just doesn't do it for me anymore.
I am not sure what my "new" oldest product is now .
I used to use Issey Miyake a lot and really loved it in my early 20's hadn't bought it in years, then smelt it in boots a few months ago and didn't like it. Its strange how perfume tastes change0 -
Aldi's version of Bio Oil , Re- Gen Oil, is back on special from this Thursday, along with a Re-Gen cream, 125 ml for £3.99. I know I've read somewhere that this was every bit as good as Bio Oil - and of course it's much cheaper. That was the only thing in the toiletries line from this week's Specials.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

Interesting the discussion about Beauty Boxes and how ‘strict’ this thread should be.
First up I admit I am terrible I spend Money I don’t have on skincare/toiletries/make up etc and I have a massive stash.
Despite trying really hard I am not really making much on an inroad into using things up. Partly because I enjoying buying products and partly because I like the comfort blanket a bookcase full of smellies will give me.
I enjoy getting Beauty boxes – I get GB and am waiting on my first SSB – as they are like getting a little present to me. I don’t think they are good value for money as I generally only rate one of the products in the boxes each time. I probably will go back down to one box but want to compare the two I’ve ordered.
Also I can fulfil my beauty obsession with a one or two boxes each month that’s a dammed site cheaper than treating myself to one or two bits every time I go into town.
And; I may find my HG product.
Talking of HG products I have a stash dilemma.
Clynol Moisture+ is my favourite shampoo - and I will buy it at any price as I like the way it leaves my hair. My dilemma is that I must have about 8-10 bottles of shampoo in my stash and I don’t know what to do with them.
I have no friends or family nearby to give them away to (and my BF shaves his head); and the cost of postage is too much to make it worth selling them. I really should just throw them away although my brain wants me to keep them just in case.
There are a few other products the same, as TBH if something has been stashed for over a year (and lots have) I’m never going to use it. This applies to a huge amount of my stash.
Part of me just wants to go in their with a few bin bags and sling it, and TBH this would probably stop me spending so much as I wouldn’t be able to hide it in the “hard it for ages” pile.
But throwing so much away??? Not sure I could do it?
There really isn’t any other giving away option for me so do I just keep it just in case??
Another alternative would be to put the lot on freecycle, as I'm sure someone else would love it.0 -

One UU from over the weekend - M & S Funky Orange Bath Caviar - WNBA, smelt more like grapefruit in the bottle and then of nothing in the bath water but did turn the tub a cheery orange, other than that no notable effects. More a novelty product than anything else, had a set of six or seven of these at Christmas and the berry 'flavours' had more scent and were nicer, couple left to UU. Another item out of the original stash gone.
Had two NPI in the last couple of days, firstly was hankering after the Burts Bees Grab Bag as it seemed such a great bargain but when I read the dedicated MSE thread I realised most of the products in there were body lotion and I really didn't NEED any more of these. Learning that just because something is a good bargain isn't enough for me to actually go ahead and buy it, particularly if I don't even need it - major progress!! :T
Second NPI was a much smaller affair and one that I would have actually made time permitting. Freebie facial skincare from L'Occitane off Glamour from WH Smiths. Really wanted this, however, went to get one from the train station branch in Chester and OH said why didn't I get it on way back so I didn't have to carry it around with us, I countered that it was only small and I have a v large handbag but he sealed the deal that the bus was waiting that takes you into town. Suffice to say that when we arrived back at the station to head home there was only enough time before the train departed for either a toilet stop or to grab the mag. As I'd been drinking, the trip to the loo won over!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Again, didn't NEED this, I just love facial skincare, its my thing so was saved from myself on this occasion.0 -
a few UU from yesterday:
impulse london body spray-WBA- this is my favourite impulse- I wish I could buy it in perfume form, not so crazy about aerosol body sprays. I've heard it compared to lancome hypnose so I'll try that.
avon solutions toner for combination skin-WNBA- way too drying for my skin
Lush gingerbread house bubble bar-WBA- obviously if it comes back for christmas and in the sales. Bubble bars last me about 10 baths, I'm not sure how people can use them in 1!
finally, everything is running out at the same time!:rotfl:Toiletry spend £34.95 In: 10 out:130 -
Hi Ammonite
Normally I would repurpose something or give it away, it's just unfortunate in this case that the serum is only ok for three months. I've had it for longer than that - I kept using it in the hope that it would be different...You have to add the active ingredient to it (it comes as a powder). It's a really odd thing!
I hope everyone is having a happy Sunday!
Meant to add Willowbee - my post wasn't supposed to sound as preachy as it did sound :rotfl: I sounded like the eBay Godess of the world when I read it back! I just didn't realise before someone told me that you could sell that stuff on eBay and I had binned so much stuff  Sounds like interesting stuff you had there anyway!
Skin type is probably dry/combination. Often feels tight but prone to spots in the T-zone. A lot of the milia are around my eyes and I'm wondering if its prolonged use of oil-based eye makeup removers rather than a moisturiser issue. Either way, my skin feels dry a lot of the time so the clinique isn't doing its job.New moisturiser definitely needed (and milia exterminator - do these exist?)
I used to be a toiletries terror . Don't get me wrong, I'm still a massive stock piler but had a few huge sort outs, gave some stuff away and now stick to the old faithfuls to stockpile. Avon Daily Results shampoo, Avon dry end serum, Avon deodorant (can you tell I was an AVON rep?!) and now I've become a Lancome and Soap and Glory fiend. I've really simplified what I use since my teens but still haven't found a perfect skincare routine as yet. I'm not sure what made me stop buying so much stuff, I think I used to get fed up of using stuff I only sort of liked and decided even if it cost a bit more I'd buy stuff that I loved. It's very addictive though0 -
