No buying unnecessary toiletries in May - Challenge

Actually have still not found my HG bronzer since Models Prefer went defunct. Theirs was the only one that looked natural. At the moment I have the LG Bronze N Brighten which is ok but no match for it.
I like the LG bronze n brighten but it does last for ages. I am still using one I bought about 7 years ago  - still no sign of the pan showing through and I do use it fairly regularly. I was impressed with the new CID rio bronzer which was demo'd on me at the BB - it is on my list but can't see I will ever get it as I can't ever see my bronze n brighten being finished - the only way will be if it is ridiculously cheap in TKM**X. I also use Bare Minerals warmth which is good but again lasts for ages as I only use a very small amount being so fair. I did dabble in a few MP items but don't think bronzer was one of them.
MaddieMay - despite my bronzer being 7 years old, don't think it is the oldest thing in my stash - I think that honour goes to some Benefit kitten powder I bought for the evening part of my wedding day in 2000 (12 years ago). It ought to go but for sentimental reasons it's hanging in there...0 -
I have a very disappointing TA:
Biotherm Skin.Ergetic Anti-Fatigue Concentrate Serum 50ml
I bought this in the Jan sales. It's normally £35 () but I bought it in a kit for around £25. I was super-excited to try it out as I'm on the hunt for a good serum and this one you mix the active ingredient into it when you want to start using it. (The downside of this is you have to get through 50ml in only 3 months as it goes off...)
Anyhow. It broke me out in spots. I stopped using it. Tried it again, hoping it wasn't true. It broke me out again. I decided to use it up on my neck and I got spots there as well! (Never happens, apart from an absolute disaster with a Murad product).
So. It's a throw away.(I still haven't actually thrown it away as I feel guilty about wasting the money but it's one of the worst products - for me - that I've ever used).
Maddiemay - my oldest products are two Clinique eye shadows. I had the best ever make-over at Boots in preparation for a May Ball, so I reckon I bought them in 1995 or 1996 () The SA matched me to the loveliest lipstick. It would still be my HG if they hadn't discontinued it (it was called Rosy Plum and it was beautiful). She chose a soft brown eyeshadow (Autumn?) and a beautiful dark matte brown shadow. Honestly, she was the best SA ever in terms of choosing colours for me. I just had no idea at the time as it was my first 'posh' make up experience and things seemed intimidatingly expensive. (I'm amazed that I didn't really wear make-up until I was 19).0 -
Funnily enough the colour I'm wearing at the moment looks like mocha and ameretto biscotti colour - it's OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know. WNBA as it's disappointingly unlike the colour in the bottle. In the bottle it has little golden shimmers. On my nails it's flat brown colour.
:rotfl:This made me laugh! I put on Berrylicious by No7. It's one of my faves. Had it a while now, if I remember it was some sort of freebie from Boots.May Grocery Challenge : 64.81 so far

Maddiemay - My oldest product has to be my Issey Miyake perfume which I have just about finished (any day now). This was gift from an ex near the start of our relationship. That ended 12 years ago so it could be up to 15 years old . The smell doesn't seem to have been effected by it's age. Then again it was in storage in a dark for many a year.Ha ha! I'd have to take a day off work to get enough time to make a list! The problem with living in a small flat is everything has to be packed away and I forget what I have. I just want to get to a point where I have a small collection of make-up and only have one or two back-ups of toiletries in the cupboard. My weaknesses are lipgloss, nail polish and special offers on body products. So this month I will try to:
Reduce my body products stash.
Try to actually use all the samples/travel sizes I have collected.
Get out all the make-up products I am not sure I like and actually wear them and make a decision about whether I want to keep them.
I don't actually need to buy anything this month as I have such a big stash. The exception is moisturiser. I have sensitive, eczema-prone skin so I cannot muck around with it. If I run out of my moisturiser or if there is a special offer this month I will have to buy it as I don't have a stash of this.
Sounds like a good plan HermiaUU:
S&G flakeaway-WNBA- have another in the stash- I don't mind it but there are other body scrubs I prefer. Or I might just make my own with almond oil and sugar?
and well done Fiasco, I'm not sure I've ever had a lip gloss UU because I've never had the patience:rotfl:
I know what you mean. This is only my 6 lip gloss out and I have been doing this challenge for 20 months. Even so one of my new ones was donated to the Give and Make Up appeal too.
Cut my hand food open last night as it had spluttered its last. Still quite a bit of product to go in there. No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380 -

I do like the LG one and I know it's going to be a LHJ. I think it's something to use when I have some colour already though. I used to really love the Models Prefer yellow powder. At that time I had lots of red in my skin - not rosacea, nothing like that - and then I started using C&P which cleared it up so binned the yellow powder. I guess this is why Lemon Aid works so well on my eye lids. What is st.com?
Shopping Telly.com. If you buy from QVC you can check out the threads re: upcoming TSVs and the folks on there find out beforehand what they contain and price. Unfortunately it also has a dark side as a lot of people start up nasty threads about the presenters.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Aaargghh - have just realised that I haven't listed my Ultrasun INs - we have no suncream left at home so these were an essential for the coming Summer - if we can believe that Summer is coming! I bought this for 2 reasons:
1. We are off to France this Summer so hopefully the weather will be good and we will need it!
2. My DDs go to holiday club for the first 3 weeks of the Summer and I have been wanting to try out a suncream that you only need apply once. Last year they had to remember to keep putting suncream on so this will hopefully give me peace of mind that they won't get burnt.
So 5 INs:
Ultrasun
SPF30 face 25ml
Ultralip
SPF20 sports 500ml
Aftersun 125ml
30SPF family formula 100ml
I know that this brand sometimes appears in TKM**X but I have yet to see it (admittedly I don't go in very often) so decided to buy it last weekend when it was a TSV. I did wonder whether to add this to my stash list or not as suncream is a necessity rather than a 'treat' but decided I would in the end.0 -

Oooh, I don't think I would count this in toiletries, more first aid/neccessary stuff, like toothpaste and S*vlon, 'cos I don't stash any of those;), anyway you would be a neglectful mother if you let your DD's get sunburnt:(The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Have had a sort through my stash and reorganised the holiday toiletries. I have put the more natural products into a use first pile as these are more likely to go off. I have also picked out some free samples of moisturiser that I don't want to give to DH when his runs out (to save buying more), when he's used those, will have to decide which products I like the least and pass those on to him. I'm determined to get through it all, but don't want to part with any of the skincare stuff, but there are still other things I'm desperate to try.0
