The only thing that strikes me is thats with contactless visa debit cards that are linked to current accounts the cards could be used offline.
Im not sure whether the banks would will willing to take the hit should the account holder go overdrawn as they are minors the bank can not take any action against them to recover the debt.
Unless the bank can do something to force contactless payments to check for authorisation.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Of course they can, they don't have to be offline to work, that is a myth.
I mean on a standard current account ie a Lloyds TSB one.
As im not aware of any banks that will allow a contactless card on a basic bank account for instance.
I was not referring to prepaid cards. The bottom line is keeping to OP original question, I very much doubt they will receive a contactless card.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

14 or 16 would make no difference as you are still a minor in both cases. It used to the the cheque guarantee card (back in the day) that was the age dependent part because of its ability to make you overdrawn.
Saying that I did get a guarantee card and credit card from Natwest at 17 and they only realised their mistake about 2 days before my 18th birthday at which point they decided it wasnt worth doing anything about it.0 -
I'm saying the OP is a troll.
Claiming they've ordered a PrePaid Orange card, when the terms state you have to be 16 years old or over; and Orange do carry out a quick check against the details you put in, to prevent Money Laundering, in which case if the OP lied it wouldn't of gone through without them requesting a proof of ID, see terms and conditions on their website.0 -

Actually Orange cash will send you a card if you don't pass the id check. It just has a limit of £800 a year unless you send in ID.0 -

Once again, another member who does not understand what trolling is.

Also, if I may ask; why on Earth do you feel a need to have 'Posted via my iPhone' in your signature?
You failed to explain how you obtained a Orange Cash Card considering that you must be 16 years of age to apply; was this via lying on an application?
In other words, obtaining services by deception? Fraud.
Also, please understand if you have lied on the application and they don't fully verify your card, you can't top it up with your debit card, so looks like this could prove more hassle than convenience.0 -

http://cash.orange.co.uk/terms/ doesn't mention an age limit.
When I worked for an Orange shop last year, we were told anyone over 13 could have a card.
Also from http://cash.orange.co.uk/faq/ -
"Who can get a card?
Anyone can get a card, as long as we can verify your ID."0
