  • Crikey!!!! £15 a day!!! :eek::eek:
    You must literally want to cry :cry: when fuel prices fuel increase! (which means i suspect you may have had puffy and red eyes for quite some time with things they way they are re fuel!! :()

    I assume your role role/salary must be pretty good to spend that much each week/month :question:

    It still makes financial sense to keep the job and the commute (i.e. I don't spend all my income on the car) rather than no job and no commute. Plus I get 8 weeks holiday a year - which is better than most and reduces the annual fuel bill!

    Sometimes I wish they'd just pay me more and I'd settle for a standard 25 days.

    Yikes poor you MRN, thems some hefty fuel bills! I complained that I only got 20 days holiday a few weeks back when I found out statutory for full time workers is about 28. Then I added on bank hols and forced xmas holidays and found...indeed it is about 35 days we get so not bad at all...still never enough though !

    Janine - your commute sounds FAB! :) I love working at home!

    Not much to report from me...may have to take a bit of cash out of the ISA as we are floundering a little. Cheap week this week as both of us have been working away so hardly any food spends here until next week.

    Just over a week until payday!
  • Hi Ammonite, don't forget you can't put it back it you take it out of the ISA :(

    I know *sob* which is why I'm trying to keep living like a pauper for the next week! We might be OK just need to make sure we have enough to cover the direct debits. I didn't meant to stash so much cash in the ISA last month as I forgot we had building work to pay for on the house. We might just be able to hold on! Thanks for the reminder though Til :)

    DooYoo finally paid up :D £50 richer and into the overpay fund (well its in the non-ISA account at the moment in case of serious emergency between now and payday but intentions that £50 will go into the savings).

    We now have 9.025% of the mortgage in our savings account!

    Made it to 9% - even in this month of financial austerity!

    Also sold £60 of stuff on eBay which I'm very pleased about. Will probably put that in the baby fund as we need a few things still and that pot has been dwindling a bit.

    Basically needs to be a No Spend Week for me! Can I do it?! Possibly not as we do need a little bit of food!

    If you can't do a NSW then just aim for a low spend week instead - essentials only!

    It is being a very low spend week. I think we'll be fine actually now this food order is arriving tonight. First order from Ocado so got £20 off an £80 spend and stocked up on some nursing type stuff as it is the cheapest place to get it. Very little spent on groceries out of that and I'd have had to buy all the baby type stuff anyway.

    Extremely pleased to find my Quidco will be paying out £80 at the end of the month :D thanks to various insurances etc. Lots of things just seem to be paying up so I'm really pleased. Will probably put that in the Christmas fund to help me out a bit.
  • I am going to have a go at Ocado as I have be of those offers - unchartered territory so will check out the website.
