That is true MRN I didn't think of that!
Hurrah for a bit more interest.
Went properly freezer diving today and now have meal plans for the next 2 weeks. Have a bit of cooking to do with items we already own but nothing to buy other than lunch items. The freezer will then be almost 100% empty and cupboards will be 75% empty and I will begin the big cook-off again.
No food spend this week
Back to working in the office though so will need petrol at some point
Got to buy a birthday gift this month but other than that the only spends will be those on the house which have been budgeted for (albeit the money is stuck in an ISA).
They are bad times when you are wishing the next 3 weeks away so that you can be paid0 -
Nothing to report just need to plough on with reviews. I'm at £30 on the way to the next redeem of £50 so will set mini targets. Aim to be at £40 by the end of this week and £50 by the end of next week, will take some dedication but I'll just keep my mind focused on the end target!!!
Got that 'back to school' feeling - the air is crisp and cool for autumn, the house is really tidy and clean, the washing & ironing are done, the freezer is organised....it won't last
Have a good day all (particularly the carnivore wives support group)

Had to give in and go lunch shopping, £22 spend but picked up lots of YS muffins which will do us for a good few weeks for lunches. They are now clogging up my nice clear freezer
Still sticking to meal plans. Need to do a bit of cooking with items we already have in at the weekend but that should see us through until about the 20th of the month.
The work on the house which we were going to use our savings money, we have so far managed not to use any of the savings and have relied upon wages and tightened our belts. We have probably only paid for around 1/3rd of what we will spend but it equates to about £1000 that is still in our savingsthanks to reasonable quotes and doing some of the work ourselves so I'm really happy about that.
Don't think we will be able to save very much next month but if I can keep food spends to a minimum and live off the full tank of petrol until pay day (now less than 3 weeks!) without re-filling we might do OK.0 -
Called up Sky with the intention of getting a half price deal on the TV package and got offered a £9.25 per month reduction on my line rental with no contract. Thanks very much, saved us £111 over the course of the year which I'll put in my savings.
I asked about the TV deals and she said she couldn't apply two offers in a day so I should call back in a few days time and see what someone else can do for us. I don't want to cancel it but I will do if I have to and find a newbie customer sign up deal.
I'm really pleased with my line rental deal as I wasn't intending to cancel that at all0 -

If only... I have to refil every 3-4 days because of my commute. Thankfully everything else (supermarket, fruit and veg market, gym, town centre) is within walking distance.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

I thought my 30-mile per day commute was bad. I'm actually not convinced we'll get to payday without re-filling but one can hope (and has a couple of days off in the next 2 weeks).
I have never wished my life away so much as to the next payday, still over 2 weeks to go boo hoo!0 -
Hi Ammonite, you do so well with all the challenges. I know just what you mean about payday but it will soon be here and then your savings will jump
Have a great day, enjoy the sun

Sun?! Do you have sun? No fair! Send it this way
Thanks for the encouragement, the MFW diary and the folk on this board are really encouraging.
I'm going to have to go and do a big-ish food shop as we've been running out of things left, right and centre this week and I feel like a bad wifeCan manage out of the freezer for dinners for another week, maybe two, will have to wait and see.
Next month is also going to be tight for saving but we will soldier on.0 -
