Read the (much!) earlier posts - thanks to the newbie for dragging this one up for his first post.

Taking a receipt to CS and passing it off as your own is a fraudulent act. No matter how much profit Tesco makes, how hard they treat their suppliers, how little they pay kids in far-eastern sweat shops does not make your actions at the CS Desk anything other than fraud.

    Its fraud.

    (and its very sad).
  • usually when wombling, if you take receipt to CS they add points and score Thu bar-code. but on RARE occasions they give them back unscored. if you take them back to another store or the same store they ADD THEM AGAIN!!! lol

i change bags from work to shopping, and often forget to change over the contents, then do a little shopping from work. I dont see anything wrong in friends who dont have tesco clubcards from giving me their reciepts either. Tesco is making fortunes from us in overpricing and mistakes, have you ever heard of Tesco , when finding a mistake, contacting anyone who has a clubcard or paid by credit card and telling them to check their purchases and claim a refund? Have you ever heard of customer services telling checkout staff to watch out for certain items that are not scanning properly? Have you ever heard an anouncement on the P.A. warning customers to check certain items ? They make billions a year, I see my own small efforts to save a few sheckles as justified.
P.S. I was told instore today that they wont add points from reciepts over 2 weeks old so dont hold on to them too long.

Can I just say that I think the word `Womble` and thus `Wombling` are really comical. This thread has been hilarious!!
  • my job takes me all over Glasgow. when near a tesco i go in for a quick womble lol. but most stores only allow 2 receipt per day, no older than 14 days. or as stated take non scored receipts to different stores for double points.
  • remember if you have good womble. to spread them out over 2 wks as CS policy

    Martin's 100% correct.

Wombling is fraud. It's no morally different to shoplifting. In both cases you are stealing from Tesco.

Bleating irrelevantly about the fact that the points "belong" to someone else who has chosen not to claim them is claptrap. The points "belong" to Tesco until they are claimed by someone who has legitimately earned them and credited to that person's Clubcard.

Bleating irrelevantly about mispricing is claptrap. If you suffer from mispricing, claim back the over-charge. Don't steal a few other things every time you go shopping to make up for it, and by simile don't steal clubcard points from Tesco by wombling.

I think your bleating irrelevantly about bleating irrelivantly. If you dont mind me saying, I dont suffer, I take back in other ways. Like a few points here and there and giving coupons, which, by the way Tesco get the money back on. I will also use till spits for points, then a few days later, take back the item for which I,ve collected points and get a refund. How do I sleep at night? Under a quilt paid for by points, maybe not even my points MMMWWAAAHAAA-HAA -HAA
