Did realise that later on. Itwas late last night and I was half asleep! There are that many people who appear to REALLY feel like that, you never know, do you? LOL

I think the anti-womblers have a quite balanced view of things, thanks very much.
For some people there are moral absolutes - stealing from people or defrauding them is wrong.
For others, there is a big grey middle ground where it's OK to, for example, defraud Tesco for points.
For some reason, some of these people occupying the "wombling" middle ground seem to think (I presume) that shoplifting is not OK, presumably because they are more likely to get caught and the police will get involved, rather than Tesco writing them a nasty letter, withdrawing their clubcard points and, potentially, banning them from all their stores.
Regarding standingupformyself, claiming points from a family member's shopping isn't wombling. It's legitimate.
Regarding SUESMITH's taxi-driving friend, apart from him being a privacy obsessed nutter, there's no reason why he couldn't have a clubcard on SUESMITH's clubcard account registered in the name of SUESMITH's cat if that is what he wants to do. It would be a lot simpler than him giving you the receipts.
But wombling and shoplifting both involve obtaining goods or services from Tesco without paying for them, and to which you are not entitled. There's no moral difference.0 -

So what are your views on sharing voucher codes that are sent to individuals. Is this also a criminal activity?"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
Actually just to state my point. I haven't been ripping off Mr. T's yacht fund in around a year but I reckon the people with a problem are usually the one's that nag about anything just to be in the contrary of an argument. Gives you selfworth.
Enjoy the hols.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives

MarkyMarkD and the anti-womblers - I think you're being baited in this thread!
I've had the occasional womble in my time (only picking up discarded receipts from checkouts), but not seen anyone as bad as the Tesco employee - clutching a huge bundle of petrol receipts - asking her mate to "just add these on".
Yeah, we're conning Mr T, but it's not the end of the world. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Moral concerns or no, if the net result 'wombling' is a loss then Tesco will either put a stop to it or increace prices - either way it won't last. Just out of curiousity re: the "we're tidying the car parks etc" argument, how many of those people are picking up plastic/tin stuff for green points, or putting carrier bags in the recycling bins? If you're doing that then maybe you're legitimately tidying, saving the world or whatever, if not then you're scavenging.0

So if I take in receipts found in the car park, how on earth can Tesco say whether those receipts were found in the car park or were given to me by my Mum/sister/brother/uncle/next door neighbour/ local stray dog?????????

I've said what I want to say on this thread. The last few threads just reinforce the "I think I can get away with it, so I'll do it even though it's obviously wrong" concept.
The member of staff described is incredibly likely to get sacked for doing that. Staff clubcard accounts are monitored for dubious activity and nothing could be more dubious than that. They have to monitor them to stop staff simply swiping their own clubcard every time a customer says "I don't have one".0 -
Yes Sir!
*Stands to Attention*
