Hi, just spent the last couple of days reading your whole diary. You're such a superstar, well done for sorting out so much carp and keeping your sense of humour.

I said something similar to my DH the other day, I feel much happier and more satisfied with 'our lot' these days when I did when we were creating the debt. I will appreciate everything we do get going forward so much more now too.
One day we will have that coffee morning  Xx
Ps, yay to them finding the other bomber in Boston :j

Well I survived the kids joint party there were, wait for it, 40 children there :eek::eek::eek::eek: MADNESS!!!! I did something similar for ds1 and i'm still not over it (this was 10 years ago).
But praise where it's due they did a remarkable job of not losing any kids :TI remember losing 2 at ds1 party that we did that one time and I nearly had a heart attack! BUT back then I stupidly told all the parents that they didn't have to stay! 'Go off and enjoy your child free afternoon' I said 'don't rush back, I have it all under control' :rotfl: oh wow, if only. It was a swimming party I did and after an hour in the pool EVERYONE was exhausted. Children whining, children crying, children fighting over their clothes and who's was whos, then of course parents turning up half hour late as they took my words literally........*sigh* :rotfl: NEVER again
So yes party survived.
Then we went onto DH's work BBQ. I had to wait outside for 20 mins as he decided finishing his cider was more important than getting me on to camp -I couldn't get in without him as i've no Army i.d *rolls eyes* so I was not happy when DH left me sat there for ages grr! Then went in and it was just his battery (like a platoon I suppose to try and explain) not the whole regiment. So it was quite *cosy* and a lot of the wives there were the sunbed, false nails, hair and boobs type in designer clogs for them and their kids. hmmm, *sighs again* . So i sat with the only few wives I did know and that weren't plastic and had a natter.
An hour in and most men were drunk, women were scrabbling to keep children under control and it was getting a bit lairy. DS2 narrowly missed being steam-rollered into the stocks (yes stocks......) when a load of the younger blokes picked up an officer and dragged him to the stocks to be soaked with water. DD got stuck right in a helped to soak him! DS2 tried putting sponges down the poor boys (well i say boy.....probably in his 20s ha) trousers!
I decided at this point that ds1 and I were going to pop to the shops, I stupidly left DH in charge of the two younger ones and went. £30 in te$co later, £10 at the petrol station later and I thought 'well I'll just pop home put shopping away and put the washing on the line'. Get home and DH rings, slurring something along the lines of 'Could you come and get the kids please as I think they are missing you'. I obviously am an expert at translating man/soldier talk, what he meant was, 'Come get them I want to get !!!!ed and am fed up watching them'
Get to camp. Wait another 20 mins for him to finish what ever drink he's currently on and he rolls up with DD wearing someone elses cardigan , ds2 shoe-less and the kids are starving. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm I must have got it wrong, but I thought it was a BBQ. And that at BBQ's there is food. :wall: Good God. I give up! Kids are now tucked up, clean, on the sofa in p.js awaiting a jacket potato! Oh and DH had run out of money (not even sure where he found what he did have to begin with) so he asked me. I said none left. SO he asked DS1. DS1 said 'of course, but only if you give me £15 back' Good lad, he learns quickly:rotfl:

Well it's Sunday, DH is up (surprisingly) after rolling in at nearly midnight , literally rolling ....... I've got the other birthday party today and am really not in the mood. Am fancying a day in p.js and cleaning my pig sty of a house.
Anyone have any ideas on what to make with 2 big heads of brocolli? And mince. DS1 hates shepherds pie but i'm thinking that is the only thing i can think of right now - although I love it so i'm not bothered
I have the London Marathon on atm, I'm hoping to see my good friend on there (I know slim chance there are thousands it seems waiting to run it) but you never knowshe's doing it for the British Heart foundation after her mum had problems with her heart this year ....I hope she finishes, God i would give up after a few miles I think. It seems so overwhelming 26 miles
I've still not done many of my jobsI might go make a cuppa and get grating on the soap so I can make the washing powder this morning. The washing up liquid wasn't urgent anyway as i've got a 1/3 of my bought one left but want it done before payday otherwise I know what I am like and I will just pick one up at the shops!
Still nowt money in my bank. So not impressed. Payday is not till a week on Tuesday! DH goes away tomorrow though so the £40 I get tomorrow may last till payday for food. I really really do not want to dip into any other fundsEmergency funds- all gone. Bah!
Anyway...lots of positives to focus on, we're all healthy, we have enough food even if we have to eat cous cous, pasta or rice every night by itself(you're all jealous I can feel it now), kids are settled at nursery & school and ummmm, oh i'll be back later with some more. Maybe.

I am really UNIMPRESSED  I put £10 in my petrol tank yesterday after popping to the shops and the red empty light is still on
SO i've had to do the weekly shop online now and pay for delivery tomorrow
:( I know the car was running low on petrol (35 miles left) when I put the money in yesterday but the £10 literally went on taking us to a party today and back again and is back to 40 miles left.
Anyway. Onto other news before I have steam coming from my ears :rotfl:;) I've done a meal plan and I really hope I can stick to it as I've pretty much got no money left!
7 day Meal Plan- chicken salsa type wrap things with salad
- veggie burgers (homemade) with cous cous & salad
- Jacket Potatoes with cheese/beans whatever is in cupboard or fridge
- chilli, rice & salad
- homemade pizza with salad
- chickpea curry
- Veggie sausages, chips & beans
You may notice a lot of veggie options there *rolls eyes* all i will say is - meat is expensive and Goddamned tenant has not paid me still
Hoovering done & polishing and I've knitted another square todayParty went without a hitch - probably due to the fact it was in a soft play centre and all i had to do was drink tea & chat :rotfl: I snuck ds2 in so no entrance fee there
but I bought him lunch to come out at same time as everyone else was having party food. Also got squash so spends were £4.50- which was less than the amount to get in so i was happy with that :rotfl:
Right anyway bed time now hope everyone has had a productive weekendMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Goodness, I dont look in for a few days and you seem to have a real social life on the go!
Even if it isnt for you at least you have had a few cuppas and natters.
Meal plan sounds epic. We are mostly eating batch cooked food to keep our costs down. KNow where you are coming from with the veggie stuff as we are padding things like bolognese out with aubergine etc.Trying to shift that debt!0 -
