    Hello all!

Well i've been good i've been to the gym yesterday and today (i've lost 2 inches off my waist in 6 weeks :T). No washing out today as we had thunder and lightening with hail yesterday and it's been raining on and off ever since!

Bread made and already half gone! I've been researching bread tins and flour to buy in bulk and will do this once we have some money. Going to get a 3lb or 4lb tin so the bread we make will last longer than half a day  i think the tin we have at the moment is only a 1lb one so no wonder it's gone so quickly :rotfl: I've also got my eye on a bread maker or 2 on ebay. The ones that have good reviews are 25+ miles away from me though so i don't know whether to go for them or not. Not sure what is good value on a used bread maker  I nearly blew my kenwood mixer up last night by making the bread dough in it it had smoke coming from it and everything :o even though the recipe was from the kenwood book that came with it! I hope it doesn't blow up as I just bought a new lid for it that cost me £9 :rotfl:

The tenant still hasn't paid (anyone surprised?) and the money for DH's course that he never did has not been refunded so a poor weekend for us. Then if I get no money from anywhere i've only got my child benefit to pay for food next week  stupid tenant. stupid dh's work. hmph!

On the plus side the washing powder i've made seems to be holding up well. DS2 skin has miraculously cleared up on his arms. His legs still patchy but better than last week! I'm amazed. It also makes me wonder what sort of chemicals they were putting in the commercial powders for it to have caused that reaction

Over the weekend I am going to try making the washing up liquid as I'm nearing the end of the f@iry liquid. Which has made my hands really dry and sore btw! Thought it was supposed to be kind to your hands, and all that jazz. Clearly a publicity stunt! Who'd have thought it! A big company lying to us, blatantly  lol

Oh forgot to say DS2 has been offered a place for september in the school DD is in :T we were told we should get it but I didn't want to get my hopes up until it was confirmed :D very happy as a few kids didn't get in last year even though they had siblings there so I knew there was a slight chance I might be appealing and doing 2 school runs

I've not got much else to report really. Not been anywhere, not spent anything (another nsd) and am trying to avoid teachers at school drop offs and pick ups as i've not paid snack money this term yet :rotfl:

  • Have been reading some diaries on the forum today and subscribed to a few more. Hope I can keep up with them all ;) there are some very inspirational people on this site. We all have our ups and downs but what some people go through is really heartbreaking and to see that they've come out the other end, a stronger person is so motivating :)

I was thinking about my life pre LBM, and my gosh that seems like a whole world away now. Each month lived robbing Peter to pay Paul. Using one credit card to pay off another and spending money on whatever I liked, whenever I liked! Mad! It took me less than 3 years to rack up most of the debt and it will take me 3 times as long to pay it back!

    Was it worth it?

Was it heck, all that money that I am still paying for went on clothes that went out of fashion in weeks, gadgets that became dated as soon as you took them out of the box, cars that sat outside my house broken down more often than being used and toys for the children that they outgrew in the blink of an eye!

I feel quite blessed and thankful that we did run out of credit when we did. I am happy that those friends I tried to keep up with faded away with my cut up credit cards. I've got real friends left, ones that are happy with a cup of tea and a natter :) I'm still pursuing the minimalist life and i'll get there one step at a time.....by eliminating one expensive habit at a time ;) Last month was switching sky (medium sized pacakge) to virgin on the basic package (pretty much the same as freeview), and you know what the kids haven't even noticed that we only have the free kids channels, I put off doing this for so long because I didn't want to affect the kids and shock, horror, they didn't care :rotfl:

I've met some great friends on here, I only wish you all lived closer, what a coffee morning that would be eh

Anyway enough. I was in the middle of watching a film when I felt the need to write this, so back to the film (and maltesers ;) )

  • ah thanks ladies :)

Well this weekend I have 2 parties to go to :j <---- well I would be jumping for joy if either of the party invites were for me. But alas, no, they are for ds2 & dd! *sigh* :rotfl: Expecting to have headache from hell after 5 hours of kiddy partying this weekend :rotfl: Thankfully cards & presents for all 3 kids are sorted (1 party is a joint one) ...suppose at least the kids won't be asking to go anywhere so should have a nsd on one of the days.

The other day not so much a nsd but hopefully a lsd (less than £20 I hope) as I need foooooooooooooooooooooood! My kids eat too much, arghhhhhh! Food lasts minutes! Also unsure of where I am getting the money to pay for it ?? I have only £40 in the emergency pot left. Hmm. Guess it will have to come from there though as there is nowt anywhere else really :rotfl:

    Jobs for the weekend
    • make washing up liquid, find suitable container for washing up liquid lol
    • Hoover upstairs
    • do a quick shop for bits, already have dinners but will need pack up stuff for Monday and for lunches over weekend
    • wrap presents up for parties
    • wash dog
    • Make another lot of washing powder as I have around 3/4 washes left of current lot

Not too much as I'll be out a lot!

Anyway I'll be having another cuppa here and mooch around the boards and diaries then I guess I better get a move on a make a start on the weekend fun :) I may be back later as the freebie boards are becoming my new best friend ;):rotfl:

  • Just catching up on the last few days! Well done on the inch loss and I agree, yesterday's 8.14pm post was excellent! I said something similar to my DH the other day, I feel much happier and more satisfied with 'our lot' these days when I did when we were creating the debt. I will appreciate everything we do get going forward so much more now too.

One day we will have that coffee morning  Xx

Ps, yay to them finding the other bomber in Boston :j

    Hi DFW

Kids definitely have better social lives than us, luckily my 2 are now past the stage where I have to stay and "endure" the fun of over-excited, sugar laden kids parties :rotfl:

My 2 are always hungry as well, they eat as much if not more than DH and then moan that they are still hungry. Theres a fab golden syrup sponge pudding that you can make in the microwave in 4 minutes I think the recipes on the bbc food website. It fills my 2 up and its cost effective and quick to make.

    Have a good day xx
  • :rotfl: I sold the microwave :rotfl:

BUT i know of the pudding you mean and I've made it in the oven (just it takes 20 mins instead of 4 :rotfl:)

I was bored the other week and decided to read a link a friend sent me, which led to another website, then another, and finally I decided after all the reading (lots of research type things) that microwaves were bad and kill your food so I sold it :rotfl:

Made what I paid for it though so not all bad :money:
