  • Gargrave: you should make the most of the stodgy foods on your meal planning before you leave us all *sob* after that it will be roasted kangaroo, crocodile thighs, & bbqs lol :rotfl: (aye i'm just jealous!)

Thank you mummy chicken :T I had all my xmas presents finished early last year and was lovely just to be able to relax :) i even bought my first xmas presents for this xmas before last xmas was over :rotfl: -if that makes sense :confused look: !

So need to check bank account this morning, late start doing everything today thanks to kids giving me their cold! i feel awful and seem to be very hormonal want to cry at everything  so this is hindering me slightly today. For example the kids decided they wanted to walk under the bridge today to take us to the other side of the road rather than taking the road where the lolly pop lady was. They wanted to walk on the wall you see....well i wondered why it was so quiet but thought no more of it. Walked down there and found a river that wasn't there yesterday  so i was too late to walk back and around so decided i would climb up on the wall and walk across with the kids where it was nice and dry. Got up, been a while since i walked on walls mind. Then immediately fell off into river :wall: looked around noone had seen. Phew. then got up and i was drenched :( so was DD who i had splashed. And ds laughed so hard he fell off too. So i cried. Oh jeeeeeeeeeeeeez what a baby huh. Then i still had to take her to nursery sporting the drowned rat look and walk home. And had to drive back to nursery and face teachers again with dry clothes for lil miss who still hadn't forgiven me for nearly drowning her. :wall::wall: I IS NOT HAVING GOOD DAY -oh and i realised once i had got home for the second time that i had not used waterproof mascara this morning.

So drawing a line under that I will start today again if that is ok :rotfl:

    SO jobs for today:
    *put washing away
*get to bottom of wash basket again!
*check bank see what is pending
    *check emails
*clean living room, kitchen, mop floors, hoover floors, yada yada yada blah blah blah. This is never done and it is so annoying. I wish i had a cleaner.
*file paperwork before kids decide to draw all over it again.
    *send parcel to ds1
*send parcel to friend who purchased some bits from me.

Think that will do feel under the weather and like carp so watching t.v this afternoon! & maybe a quick doze if i can contain children to one room long enough!!!!!

  • Well not quite gone from bad to good, it's gone from bad to worse

DH wanted to see the spreadsheets as he didn't believe we had no spare money because of his payrises. Well had to show him that the DC (Darling Car in his case...sure he loves that stupid thing more than us) had indeed cost him what i said it had cost and he didn't believe me until he saw it in black and white....£3k down in 4 months on a piece of metal with rubber wheels! However after our dispute i didn't see any reason to get rid of it now.

I've just paid £260 for a years tax, goodness knows how much on repairs and it only needs a few more things doing and it should last a fair while then. So i think we're keeping it. DH however is livid. he thinks he should be allowed £100+ a month to spend on pure carp & tobacco and the rest of us should live within budget. Not going to happen. Oh I do like being right. ;) oh and the spare money...gone straight back into raided pots ...he's not a happy bunny!

So his answer to get us out of debt.........go on tour to afghan again :need head bashing against wall smiley here: ! I told you he was having a flickering LBM..........seems to be growing stronger. Why I wonder does he have to question everything I say and do concerning money and budgets though??? Hmmm oh well. He'll be back later now with an answer as to whether he can go on tour. I'm kind of hoping they will say no for obvious reasons (ya know like him being gone for 7 months, having no father or husband around and having to watch the news 24/7) *sigh*!

    Anyway P O S I T I V I T Y!!!!!!!!!!!

Bank balance is ok, pending is the tax credits for next week so should be fine now till end of month if we live on the small budget i allowed. However angry husband wants money for going away for a week to london.......which yes i gave him on monday and yes of course he has spent  i'm ready to give up for the day now!!

Hmmm ! What to say ? He has seen the spreadsheets for himself in black and white now, so thats a good thing. At least you can prove to him you know exactly where the money is going and that despite the pay rise there isnt much left for extras.

Not quite sure the Afghan Tour again is the answer as I'm sure you arent either. Think its just male ego," I am the breadwinner and I should be able to do with my money whatever I please" coming through again .

You dont need me to tell you that The Afgham Tour will put all of you under more pressure for obvious reasons, him included. Will it actually get you out of debt or just give you a bit of a bonus at the end of it to help to debt along the way ? Hopefully they will tell him he cant go or he will have calmed down by the time he comes home and will have changed his mind. If he does go, dont watch the news or read the paper and refuse to enter into any discussion with anyone who wants to tell you whats going on out there. I am sure some people get a kick out of trying to cause you further worry and stress. If there was anything you really did need to know then you would find out soon enough .That was always and still is my philosphy and I'm sticking to it ! :D Am I making sense ?

Well by my calculations by December this year we will only have around £7-8k of debt left (this is hopefully including all the interest we will have accumulated that they refuse to stop) So the afghan tour would in fact leave us debt free...he doesn't pay tax whilst away so i used to get £200-300 more in each pay pack. He is fed and watered out there and all he needs is money for luxury items..i.e tobacco (thank goodness they can't drink eh) so i could save at the same time so head says yes let him go if he wants to. But as always heart wins out and says it's only money and what if something happened to him...... BUT my dh is unfortunately as stubborn as me :( and so we usually both always get what we want if we have enough willpower. He has mentioned the tour several times now and i think he actually wants to go. He is a rank higher now so would be taken more seriously then the last two times he went and i dunno i just get the feeling he actually really wants to go :( and has only said no because i didn't want him to. As much as he bugs me when at home I can't imagine my life without him *oh gosh stopping here can feel the tears welling..damned hormones*!

Although he did have an alternative.......take ds out of school and sell car. DS finally seems to have settled though so i'm reluctant to do this. September he starts his GCSE years (yr 9) so don't want the upheaval for him the poor lad has had to put up with me moving him from pillar to post for ever since he was born and i just want him to settle, make some life long friends and be happy and do well. grrr to dh for making me choose!

Ok, I wont say much more as I dont want to upset you. Sending you more of those hugs and sharing my choccie biscuits with you also.

I do totally see where you are coming from in all areas including him wanting to go and your feelings and worries. One of the reasons I say not to listen to the news etc etc if he were to go was that I got so fed up of people calling everytime they heard some tiny bit of info on the news or in the paper ,then they would worry the life out of me . I'm sure he wants to go, not to get away from you all, but to try and resolve this situation for everyones sakes and also maybe he feels a sense of duty.

I will shut up now as I can only go on my experience which is similar ish, but not the same.

    No tears honey xxx

You poor love, I can't imagine what it feels like to send your beloved OH away for so long. You are very brave.

Carry on with the choccie biscuits, always good for you!

I've not tried Gumtree, is it any easier, nicer than ebay?
