  • I love reading ur diary , your usually so upbeat and honest and its lovely too see our soldiers don't always wear the trousers at home lolol

Can I pick ya brains chick as ur defo are the most organised person moneywise I know (metaphorically), I want to start the pots but don't know where to start really apart from gas n elec everything else comes out d/d and apart from 1 measley debt of £90 I'm pretty much debt free finally so its regular pots grocerys, family days, Xmas budget hubbys spending money , haircut, dog grooming pot, I'd like to start an emergency pot too is there any others u can think of ?

I'm not a stalker lol but lurk on the diaries a lot in work, I was kissykissykaren but my account got hacked, can I be really nosey and ask if ya meat from Donald whoever really is worth the extra as I'm a supermarket meat girl lol, and also if approved foods bits and pieces taste the same or would family tell some are out of date sorry for all the nags and questions and hope you have a stress free day with the kids x

smiley-ashamed005.gif aww shucks, thanks very much :)

Well i love me pots i do, so i will list what i have and you can see if any are missing:

    1) called WALES: I put £10+£50 into this one per month- £10 for inurance, £50 towards repairs on property in wales (funnily enough, you couldn't have guessed that huh :p)

    2) is my main account- all wages, CHB, TC & Paypal etc etc get paid in here, and all bills are due out of here , the main 'hub' of activity :rotfl:

    3) called PANIC: I put £100 into here each payday & if i make money from ebay and it's not needed anywhere else it goes into here. It's job is as see-through as the 'wales' pot. In case of PANIC :p

    4) called DUKE (they really are named this too, my bank let me put a code name on each:rotfl:) I put £40 into here. £30 for food (best fed dog round these parts i tell ya) & £10 for vet/grooming etc although to be reviewed once we've had him a few more months

5)Called SCHOOL: I have just this month upped this to £40 + £130. £40 for music lessons & £130 for school fees, uniform, trips & now DD's uniform (so am thinking may need to up this again very shortly as this is one area cccs have no guidelines for really)

6)called SP: for Stock piling (was Second Purse but kind of fell by the wayside with that :o oops) I put £40 in here each month and use to top up cupboards. The last few months i've not really been putting into it, hence my stock cupboards are bare! This is why i'm upping the food budget, in real terms the budget for food is £260 per month now and £40 for stock piling. But £300 altogether and i like to be honest with myself & everyone here when i fall short on the budgets!

    7) called YEARLY SAVING: i put £50 each payday into this. I cannot touch it unless i contact them to do so ;) so this is 'safe' money and ideally i'd like it to go towards a holiday next year :T

    8) called CLOTHES: at the moment nothing is going in here, i'm topping up the emergency/panic fund instead. Once i get to an amount i feel comfortable with i'll add to this again

    9) Called PETROL: £200 per pay day goes on this

    10) Called GIFT: For xmas & Birthday fund. I put £65 in this each month! It's August now and i have zilcho in there  on the plus side all birthdays are paid for except dh's and i've got most family members their birthday presents & xmas presents so only need my kids christmas stuff now :)

    11) called GROCERY: but is empty! I've decided to try cash again this month :rotfl:

    12) Called ENTERTAIN: for the entertainment budget, but again is empty, these last few months have been tough so we've not really had a budget in here. And this month i have cash as we're going to london and wanted to have it out in case of no where to transfer budgets across into different accounts :rotfl:

I don't have a hair cut fund. I did start one but i have always cut my own hair in between salon visits. And everytime i go i find fault so would rather do it myself anyway. Haven't paid for it then and can moan away and noone there to take the ear bashing :o. DH does himself & the boys and i tidy up the clipper job he does and i do DD. DH has also done the dog 3x now :T and done a good enough job to save £25 ;) so he's been delegated that job :p

As for DR i only use them when they have free delivery and their mince is on special offer :rotfl: it then works out about the same as SM's and tastes 50x better in my opinion! Their steak is luscious! And their mini pot roasts, well don't even bother. they are teeny tiny!!! And were full of fat. Not impressed with them!

AF my ds1 has become a little fussy as he looks to see if everything in my cupboards are out of date now like i'm purposely trying to poison the lot of them  as if i would! But i can't tell the difference and i was the one who most didn't want to try it. But i did, and i wouldn't look back now :T i have popadoms nearly 7 months out of date and they taste fine!!! Just like the ones in the shop that cost 11x the amount and are in date! everything you buy from them is dried food with the exception really of the drinks (which i've never tried) and the chocolate (which i have tried and was fine) i'd say go for it with a small order and i think you'd be surprised!

Well done on nearly having no debt. That WILL be me, one day. :D

  • oh bejeezus!! I pop upstairs under the guise am going to the loo (really just wanted 5 mins peace so i could post here..) and come downstairs to coco the clown  :eek: My son decided to help himself to my last estee lauder lipstick, and it is half eaten, half painted all over his face now . thankfully was never going to wear it again (not really my colour now- deep purple) but not really the point smiley-rolleyes005.gif he is such a little s0d. The dog is better behaved than him!!!

Anyway. Today i took out £300 from the cashpoint and walked on past the shops :j:T buying nothing! And went to the dr's to hand in my prescription :T. On the way back, the chip shop had opened, and i was so pleased with myself for not spending i went in and bought chips smiley-think005.gif I think i need a little more work on this NSD lark, and patting myself on the back in a no-spend kind of way smiley-think001.gif Still it's payday and aside from chips i've spent nothing else :j so total spends were less than £4 for the day :T:j

    smiley-angry018.gif

smiley-angry016.gif Ok i need a rant, Dh is not here, mum not picking her phone up so very sorry but need to rant here! smiley-angry016.gifsmiley-angry019.gif

Basically I have this 'friend', i use the term quite loosely with her, now I've known her since I moved here and just in the last year or so we've become closer. I.e seeing each other once a week for a catch up, tea/coffee etc. She is one of these people that know everything. And i mean E V E R Y T H I N G, and knows a person to solve every problem i have (i bet we all know one of those, think they are actually the yellow pages ) Well we have purchased, rather reluctantly, a laptop from her. I say reluctantly because, well, she is a royal pain in the a$s and i knew it would be hassle!!! smiley-angry019.gif Well last month she gave us the laptop and as it was half way through my budgeting month i only had £50 spare to give her (price was £120 on a fb selling page). DH contacted friend's DH and said would you take £100 mate as we're broke. Friend's husband said yes. SO i presumed price we were paying was £100! Two days later i get a bbm from friend,' I thought we'd agreed £120, if i'd have known it was going to go for less i'd have given it to someone who was asking about it' .......Right well one, i knew noone had asked about it as she'd only told me the week before noone was showing interest! Two, i just replied to her, It's fine, we will pay £120. DH was just asking.

SO we give her the £50 last month and this month i owed her £70. Not a problem. I have a budget it's all worked out ok, i had the cash sitting there this morning (from the £300 taken out earlier). Following so far? Ok so then i get one message after the other today asking when was best to come over. I was out all morning with pup & kids as it takes so long to get to dr's surgery. So said this afternoon. So she turns up this afternoon, WITH a bag of clothes!!!!
'Here you go, go try these on' she says.
    I say, 'what are these?'
' Oh some stuff i thought would fit you, there's a watch in there too as you said you didn't have one'
'Right' i say and think, !!!!!!!

So off i go to try them all on, they fit (mostly) but are short as she is only 5ft and i'm not exactly kate moss but i'm 4 inches bigger than her smiley-think006.gif and i am still wondering why she brought them! So i go back to kitchen, where she's fed the kids chocolate (very nice of her to bring them some, but dinner was in a couple of hours. Let it drop though, cos i'm nice like that ) and tell her yes these fit (?????) and she turns round and says oh good, saves me selling them on fb. Oooh i think, free clothes, lovely. Till she turns round and says, '£20 for the lot ok??????' Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sorry smiley-confused005.gif but smiley-signs002.gif and smiley-signs103.gif!!! Ummmmmmmmmm NO!

So anyway i think she was a little peed off i said no, but hey ho. I put the kettle on and then she proceeds to tell me i've got it all wrong about the olympic park and 'naaaah darlin' you don't pay for this, and you don't pay for that, and blah blah blah !!!!!!! blah' I had told her we were going to london see to see the olympic park, but after dh told me what was there (huge shopping centre, park) we had decided that Natural history museum, china town & then a walk along the Thames in the evening to see the lights were more our thing. Friend took this as that i couldn't afford to get into park so STILL sat there for half hour, after i'd told her we'd decided against this, ranting about how she was right, and rolling her eyes at my stupidity. I seriously have not wanted to strangle someone as much, since crazy cake lady saga smiley-violent001.gif.

Thank God at that precise moment my son, who is usually a pain in the butt, walked in covered in snot and 'friend' had to rush off!!!!!!!!! She has made me sooooo angry, i cannot abide know-it-alls!!!!!!!!!!!! they f*ck me right off, and i mean RIGHT off !!!

And anyway she only got £70 off me not the £90 she was hoping for to fund her holiday spending money in the end Grrrrrrrr! What a friend huh, trying to make money out of me!!! She knows how broke we are too which makes it double bad in my books :(

Sorry for rant, probably means nothing to anyone. But makes me feel better :D

  • ......and breathe! Think i've calmed down now. ;)

Just made pasta, bacon & sauce for dinner. Think it probably cost me less than a pound for the whole dinner :T ! 'Friend' doesn't know everything, she spends double what I do on food :p

Well i've done a basic meal plan for next week.
1- Jacket potatoes, cheese & beans with salad
    2- Tuna, pasta, sweetcorn
3- Marinated chicken & rice (with either veg or salad)
    4- Spag bol
5- Ham, salad & jacket potato
    6- pizza & chips
    7- Pot roast

meaning all i need to buy is veg for all meals, salad, jacket potatoes, pizza & chips, tuna, sweetcorn & mayonnaise. I've already got the rest in. Hoping for a cheapish week as i'd like a bit of money left at the end of the month to stock up some more (already done AF but that is just cupboard stuff) on toiletries, toilet rolls, cleaning stuff, cupboard items, i.e flour, caster sugar, tea bags etc. It's a plan, but we all know what happened to 'best laid plans' lol so, as dear old mum says, we'll see!

Have a list for tomorrow to do:
pack clothes (5x winter, 5x summer -grrr to weather)
    pack t.v & ps3 (ds1 request)
    blankies & teddys for kids
    1 x duvet
3x pillows (mum has all these but can't find them as not totally unpacked lol)
    duke's food x 5 days, 2 x bowls, nappy sacks (i use for poop-a-scoop lol)
pay car tax onto budget card before money gets spent :D
    empty bins out
    close all windows
    lock all doors!
Oh and print off tickets to dinosaur thing at Natural History Museum
GET PETROL (or won't get far!!!)

Won't be leaving till 6-7pm anyway so kids should be tired and house should be clean by then! Am sure i will be on to update tomorrow ;)
