Great news about the payments, hope kiddie is feeling better x

I've just ordered some ingredients to make my own laundry powder, although I have already seen one of the parts a lot cheaper at Mr T so will remember that for the next batch, have the laundry soap so far hope the rest arrives tomorrow as I've used the last tablet this evening!

Well done on all your debt busting, keep it going x

    Hi DFW, :hello:

Just found your diary so popped in to say hello, though have only read the last couple of pages.

If your tenant has managed to get their arrears below eight weeks it suggests they know the rules - you'll have trouble getting direct HB payments in that case. Shame; next time it goes over, apply to the council without warning Tenant first. ;)

Hope your children have got over their sickness - simply reading what you went through turned my stomach!
  • Evening

I've finally got time to post properly :T

Granny :rotfl: as always you put a smile on my face with your jokes :T

Evcakes: Thanks for popping by :j and Please let me know how you get on with the laundry recipe :T And if you are feeling brave do try the white vinegar for the softener, it's fab and saves on c@lgon or other de-scalers as it de-scales & softens at the same time :D

Robin: Thanks for dropping in too  I think you are all right concerning the tenant. She clearly plays this game better than I do (so until the next time..........)

    Harri-Bear, Skint & plmbl : Hiiiiii *waves*

Well well, where shall I start ;)

I will start with the not so good today: After yesterday's news on the British Soldier we've had a bit of a strange day. For all that already 'know' about me & those who don't my family we're armed forces. This morning on the school run there were police cars & RMP cars everywhere on our estate. They were watching the kids go in to school and there when they came out again. They also had a bit of a lock down going on when I dropped ds2 at nursery. There was a member of staff stood by the gate only letting in those she recognised (well the kids -parents/ childminders/family etc vary) and it was a little worrying :undecided. We also saw RMP wandering around the estate all day on foot. I should list this as a positive really that they are taking precautions but it just reminded me when this all last happened and that wasn't a great time as DH was in afghan :(.

    Anyway enough of that.

DH has been lying to me about how much he gets paid. I found pay slips today. £1550 per month (after rent, council tax, garage fees, water etc are taken out) and he told me it was £1350. He went nuts when I asked him for more money each month as we're borderline starving at the end of the month. :( really unhappy that he lied about it tbh, I feel like such a leech as it is (he does nothing to appease this in fact just earlier he told me that he would stay at home sat on his !!!!! all day whilst I went out to work :() this makes me feel worthless, untrustworthy and all other manner of horrible self-loathing things.

Good news (kind of shrouded really after the bad) is that I bugged the tenant some more, threatened a little more and she's paid me £30 short fall, and £550 today :T She tried the old 'I get my money today so will transfer the money over this will take 3-5 days' I told her banks do allow you to take cash out these days and then told her where the local hsbc was ....and if she couldn't manage to get it all out at once she could get half out today and half out tomorrow. It worked. Money was in at 4pm :T Which then enabled me to do a top up shop so i have enough food for weekend :T ...other good news: Kids are better :D :j

I've topped up all the pots, the emergency funds are still depleted but I will try and work on that one this month. I've put aside £170 for DD & DS2 birthday presents and party. If they end up not having the party I will transfer the money to the emergency pot.

Friend and I finished one piece of furniture last night :j and half finished the other piece but her DH came home so we stopped (he was only back for one night so I left as soon as we had finished the one piece) we will have the weekend off and start again next week. We'd like to get most finished so we can start selling....wish us luck lol I think we will need it we're not the best painters  (shocking how easy it looks when really it's blooming hard :rotfl:)

Still no amazon vouchers for the survey site so will wait. At £8.25 on another survey site and got an invite for a £10 one. I replied immediately and they had closed it already !!

Ok think that is all, if I remember anything else I'll return :rotfl::D (you have been warned ;))

  • Ah Hun, I was devastated by yesterday's Woolwich incident but it must seem even more 'real' to you. Yes it has to be seen as a positive that extra protection is given to you and the kids but it must make it very scary too. Big hugs.

Same goes for DH and the extra wages. That's very naughty of him .

Great news about the extra funds from tenant and you being able to get the shopping in though. :D

    . :D

After getting over the shock  of seeing that many police  I now concur with you plmbl! I'm grateful to them that they were there and I am still so saddened about the poor man :( he leaves behind a 2 year old and a wife. How must they feel, how on earth do you tell your child about their father when they ask. Awful!! RIP :A (not quite the right smiley there! But you get the jist....)

  • Catch up t.v rant (be warned)

Right most of you lot reading will be like me. On the breadline. So i'm watching skint (2nd one i believe i missed the first one) and was getting really emotional about the poor 21 yr old with 5 kids when she got her benefits cut. Well it then zooms out, I see an Iphone, a cinema screen in their front room. The kids don't look like they're in primarni. And I think GRRRRRRRR. Sell your phone, t.v, old baby clothes, some of your rings, get a job!!!!!! Or at least try! Good god!!!! They are angry at the government because they have £4 left. And their kids will have to go without??? Hmm well I spotted some fairy in your shopping! Swap to shop's own brand and the same goes for all the other food & cleaning stuff!! OR make your own like some of us do! I no do not feel sorry for her  and she gets free food from the charity. Oh gawd there is so much wrong in this world. If I were down to my last £4 would they help me. I can tell you now it would be a no. JUst because I own my own house (one that has a 100% interest only mortgage on it, with non-paying tenant fabulous!) Ok am gonna quit the rant now, proper annoyed me though

Absolutely! I went on benefits when DH and I split up and ds1 was 9 weeks old. I was in pieces, had Post-natal depression and was sent to a flat 10 miles from my mum (this is the first time i'd lived away from her) it was awful i was homesick looking after a newborn and yet I somehow managed to force myself out to work, get tablets for depression, save money, pay my rent (hope my tenant is reading grr) and buy my own house by the age of 23 (few more bumps in between but we'll skip those) and again I ended up on benefits when I moved into my own home. I'd gone up there with a job, was 'let go' 3 months after getting there and went on benefits. I felt awful the whole time. Got back to work less than 6 months after that. And have been out of work since obviously with the last 2 kids but not on income support. But I just don't get the fact that they don't even TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And sit there saying they have and that there are no jobs, how would they know. they don't flipping look!!! :wall::wall::wall:
