  • Had several emails back from tenant with pictures of receipts of payment (some of which I didn't have) so I will double check my bank to make sure they were from her to me (and not her receipts for paying someone else) and go from there. She still is 8 weeks late and over a grand in arrears though and trying to get haughty with me. Anyway upshot of it is, the threats, gentle as they were, seem to have worked. £525 will be in on Monday (we shall see eh) and the rest on Tuesday.....of course I remain sceptical thanks to her consistent lying but I hope for once she is telling the truth. Bills need to be paid, pots need to be brought back to life with money!

Hi DFW321, just thought I'd pop by and say hello :).

Intrigued by the idea of having an energy monitor as I am still only allowing the heating on in Arctic conditions! Let me know how you get on with it (when it's working:)!). I have a feeling I would become slightly obsessed and start following my children around the house with it!

Sorry to hear you are having such trouble with your tenant. I really can't imagine anything worse. Hope the 'gentle' threats are enough to give her the kick up the b*m she seems to need.

  • I've checked my bank a thousand times today :rotfl: I am well aware it's Sunday and nothing will go in or out (well bill wise) and yet I can't help it! :o:rotfl:

DH has been a big help today for once :T he's made 2 loaves of bread! 1 was an red onion bread with herbs of which I was very sceptical but it actually tastes really nice :T and the other is a cheesey bread for packed lunches and toast :T. He's also made an apple and banana cake with a yummy filling :T. I'm feeling all happy clappy as it saved me doing it :D

I'm catching up on Once upon a time and then early bed for me I think! Have done loads of washing today, will iron some of the clothes I want to sell tomorrow and get them up on the fb sale site. Only selling for small amounts so i'm hoping they will go pretty quickly. Most of it was second hand to me (ebay bundles ) so i'm happy to sell on at 50p- £1 an item :D this money will be going towards next weekend. The end of the month has crept up on me and i'd forgotten i'd booked DH & DS1 into paint balling (my sister just reminded me it's next Saturday ) the paint balling is all paid for by my sister as she owes me money from mum's present so we cancelled each other out. But they will need food money and they can't be the only ones there without a few quid in their pockets for something :o it's only my sisters and their friends so won't be too embarrassing if they don't have a lot ;) (i wimped out of doing it even though both my sisters are doing it! I'm too much of a girly girl to go running around in camo gear and shooting people :o)

Wow I really can go on can't I :o so sorry to anyone who regularly reads my ramblings :o I don't have much mse stuff to say do I :D

  • Guess what?! She paid :j:j:j that was the good news. The bad news is she didn't pay the full amount agreed ....she was short by £35. So we will see what she pays me tomorrow but so far i've got £495 from her .........!

I've already paid £180 off of park, £110 put aside for friend, £80 put aside for dog and £50 paid off the car tax for next time. So that leaves me with £75. Which I may need to keep for a DD that is due out and petrol money so it's not been allocated yet. If she pays me tomorrow I can top up my savings pots for car, emergency & the house (HER one). So at least i've paid a few things :)

I got my child benefit today (£47.10) so thought it was the perfect time to try the farm shop :T Good news is that it's on the same route as te$co so what I think I may do from now on is go to the farm shop (2 miles past te$co) and on the way back pick up what I couldn't get in there. It was super easy to find and an easy drive so I can't see why I wouldn't use it often. Not quite sure how organic it all is, considering the grapes were the very same ones that a$da & tatco sell ;) as were the bananas. But of course we don't grow them here in Essex so I will let them off for that one :rotfl: They had yummy cakes too all locally made and bread (but we make our own so didn't get any) and they also had meat that was locally sourced so I think it may become a regular on my shopping list to go there :T

The prices were also on par with tatco & a$da I thought. Perhaps slightly more but nothing astronomical!

I got: 1 bunch of bananas (perhaps 6 on there), 5 pears, 5 apples, strawberries (1 punnet), tangerines (about 10), carrots (prob 8-9 large ones), 2 cucumbers, tomatoes (2 vines worth), spring onions, lettuce, cabbage, asparagus, broccoli, lemons, pack of sea salt, marshmallows (:o), 4 fairy cakes (:o) and a very large belgium bun (:o) for £31 I thought that was pretty good value what do you think? Considering the fairy cakes, marsh mallows & bun was £5 odd that's a spend of around £25 for it all and at least half was local :) and the rest looked much fresher than SM!

Oh a little tip (you may do this already, but i've only just learnt of it ) when you get your fruit and veg home, fill the sink, pour in white vinegar (of course lol) and soak all your fruit and veg. It acts as a natural preservative and also cleans off any pesticides if you aren't eating organically :T I left mine to soak for 10 mins and then lightly scrubbed any dirt off and put them in their containers again and away :) I did this last week and my strawberries were still fresh looking today  they usually last 10 mins and they are looking bruised but 4-5 days and they were scrummy still after cleaning in that :T

Oh and I got home and realised we needed potatoes :wall: so had to pop to co-0p for some as well as the other bits I couldn't get in farm shop. So total food spends today are £40 :T let's hope it lasts the week now ;):rotfl:

Today's dinner is Roast chicken, cabbage, broccoli, mash & carrots. Some nice warm food and filling!

ds1 was sick last night :( VERY sick, like for half hour, throwing up :( poor boy. So he went to bed with a hot water bottle and an extra blanket and he's off today. He's asking for lots of food so am hoping it's out of his system now and he can start to get better. I'm hoping it doesn't go round again. I've just got DD & DS2 back to school and nursery so I don't want them catching it!

Right I had better get the chicken in and get off to the school run soon. I'll try and catch up with you all later :A
