After getting over the shock  of seeing that many police  I now concur with you plmbl! I'm grateful to them that they were there and I am still so saddened about the poor man :( he leaves behind a 2 year old and a wife. How must they feel, how on earth do you tell your child about their father when they ask. Awful!! RIP :A (not quite the right smiley there! But you get the jist....)

I have just seen the news conference with the poor mans family. It was absolutely devastating and left me in tears.

I am glad the security where you are has been tightened, I have been thinking about you all.

Now we have the incident at STN ........what a week .

Oh and Princess dresses, I am so annoyed that I gave three sacks full to DD2s old nursery school. I also sold a few of the smaller ones I had left on ebay recently. What size & Princess do you need ? Cant help with Ironman I'm afraid. x

It's horrible isn't it even at the gym there are notices about soldiers not leaving work in uniform if they can help it.

As for princesses, my princess is nearly 5 and she already has loads! she has cinderella, sleeping beauty, little mermaid and a shabby tangled one (bootie find but it's in tatters!) See she's not into toys as such so has asked for shoes handbags and pretty princessy clothes (honestly! !) So I'm debating a flower girl one from China on ebay atm ! Xx

When MR PG was is the forces many moons ago, they weren't allowed to leave work in uniform then or wear anything that connected them to the military in any shape or form. I think they relaxed the rules ( I could be wrong though ) but he was saying the other night that he thinks they will probably have to re introduce them which to me sounds a pretty good thing.

Let me take a look a see whats left in the dressing up cupboard. I am pretty sure I have Supergirl but the cape is missing ! Not that shes a Princess though ! I threw away loads of wands and dressing up shoes and bags about 3 months ago, how silly, I sure he would have loved them. Remind me how old she is again ? x

Yep they did relax them all DH has always been a bit old school and won't leave the married quarters wearing his uniform. He'd rather wear his civvies but I see young soldiers all over town and at the SM's in theirs guess they will have to go back to the blocks first and change!

DD is 4 but 5 middle of July (where do the years go...........) xx

And Mummy my curry was yummy! had naan, chutney & poppadoms too yum yum am stuffed ;)

  • Just found this thread - having a few chuckles and also find a lot of "bell ringing" from my own experiences.

Thanks for the insights and info.

Hey DFW, just thought I'd drop in.

I've got loads of princess dresses, but after my two have worn them they are only fit for rags (Cinderella, maybe?)

I keep meaning to watch Skint, and I actually have a claim to fame (other than meeting Charles and Diana when Woolworths opened in Lincoln!). I was born in S!!!!horpe and lived there till I was 7! Don't remember it being particularly 'rough' , but it's one of those places where the name just conjures up negative connotations - the other two that do it for me are Grimsby and Doncaster (have never been to either so guess this is really unfair! ;))

  • Afternoon!

    Hello all *waves* :D

Brizzle thanks for dropping in, hope the sun is shining where you are :T

Awaywiththefairies, love the name! My school reports more than once described me as that :p:D thanks for stopping by and hope you 'pop in' more often :T

Harri-Bear- i didn't know you were a Lincolnshire lass ;) I spent half my childhood up there. Would love to move back! Have been to S!!!!horpe but have to say only on fleeting visits and mum used to lock the doors (in the car) as we entered :o (have to say she did this in a lot of places though and I now do the same :o:rotfl:) never been to Doncaster but I've worked in Grimsby and it wasn't very nice what I saw of it. Just looked very tired and run down but as I say I didn't see it all so i'd hate to slate someone's home  (but I can see why you put it on a par with Scunny town :rotfl:)

I've had a really tiring weekend lots of outdoorsy type things. Park, walking and picnics. DS2 fast asleep on sofa as a result and DD ready to go up too so will do that and relax for the evening I think. Need to add up spends but it was an overspend yesterday on paintballing :( I thought it may be anyway but still not impressed. It's been a NSD for me today and yesterday but I have to take into account dh's spends there. Will do the online banking and put DD to bed and be back I think ;) Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sun! :T ( I am hoping it stays! I've been able to get the washing dry :rotfl:)

  • DD decided she didn't want to go to bed! And I couldn't find my keys so couldn't do the banking! Oh well. Will have to wait till tomorrow now. I'm pretty sure I have around £20 in there for food till Friday  we've no meat left aside from salmon and prawns so dh will have to starve! ;)

Will have a look round in the morning and plan for the week and may have to borrow some money from a fund for food.

Early bed tonight, i'm full of cold :( ! And craving chocolate and have none in! I also signed up for a survey and have no printer to print off the diary I need to fill in. Argh!

    :)
