  • Morning all, am feeling a bit blue this morning. Hoping it's just a passing mood and won't stay all day! I've cleaned upstairs and downstairs this morning, ironed, polished & hoovered and put all the clothes away (well they were all away there are more piling now as I speak :( ) i'm just waiting in for someone to pick something up then i'll head out to the zoo with the kids for the soft play. Should be a NSD but I do need some butter so I may stop and get some. Need to check bank, send a birthday card (already have a stamp) and that's it today I think. Hope every one is well x

  • Ah thanks Ladies :) I am feeling much better now. Although now I have a head ache! I always get them at this time of day so it's either stress or hayfever?! I don't feel particularly stressed (no more than usual lol ) so wondering if hayfever could be the cause

It's been a NSD :T I've made a few quid too (think maybe £3-4 with another £6.50 due over next few days for sure ) and I've spotted some disney dolls on a sales page local to me, lady is selling them all in boxes so I msg'd her to see what was left think she has a lady viewing tomorrow as well so i'm trying to get there quick to get a few. I've money in a fund for birthday pressies and these are a bargain so will try and get a couple for DD :T Also seen a bundle of card making bits with over 100 blank cards for £6 so i've asked lady to save it for me i figure for birthdays I can get the kids to make the cards. People surely wouldn't dare say it was carp if they knew it was from a 3 and 4 yr old? :o:rotfl: whereas if i were to do it it would probably look no better and i'd have to admit making it :whistle:

It's rained all day. Will rain all day tomorrow too according to my weather widgety thingy on the mobile. And Friday will be good. SO I have bravely left the washing today and am planning on doing the same tomorrow all ready to do on Friday! Will see how that pans out

I'm in the middle of knitting a blanket (another one) inspired by Granny. Have a feeling I will stumble on the lacy edging bit but i'd like to try it anyway :D And this evening I am painting a bureau in country grey by annie sloan. I'm feeling a bit :undecided about it now though as when we bought the bureau it looked awful but i've since cleaned it up and warmed it up (all the wood was swollen) and polished it using my magic vinegar/oil/essential oil polish and it actually looks lovely as it is. BUT I bought it as a joint venture so I will paint it as I know that is what my friend wants to do with it. I just hope I don't mess it up :D it does look rather fetching in my front room too now I have even found a spot for it :o I remember friend saying, 'don't get attached to any pieces you've brought home' when we split our buys between house to hold on too, oopsy. Perhaps I will buy my own bureau with all my profit I am going to make.

2 days until Payday. Bank stands at £2 exactly after I rounded down any extra to emergency funds. Need to go over the budget quickly tomorrow and see how much is left. DH wants all that is left no doubt. :( I haven't the energy to fight him anymore so it looks as though we will be paying this debt for a very long time to come.

Oh and i'm having a break-out of spots. Not impressed I have more than my 14 yr old!!! :naughty: Right off I go to start the painting! Will try and catch up with some of you in the next few days :)

    Hi DFW, :hello:

Wow I am really impressed with all your MSE ways! :T :T

Take your point about the paucity of organic food at HerrL and HerrA though - tbh I don't trust the Big SM's claims in that respect either. Local butcher has my custom if I have to buy meat at times when organic farming friends can't oblige.. (Usually buy cuts when they slaughter, and freeze until we have a special occasion that calls for a roast - am lucky to know quite a few "Good Life" friends who sell excess produce to like-minded folk :)).
Daft Dogs are quite happy with SM meat though (do miss MrT's whoopsied shelf when away from homehome :o).

Good luck with the knitting - again am filled with admiration as that is a skill I never mastered despite Mum's best efforts to teach me..

Yay - pay day tomorrow; don't spend it all at once! :D

DFW glad to hear you are feeling a little brighter today.

I found the Supergirl dressing up outfit, the cape is missing though which velcros ont he back. It looks tiny but the label has been cut out of it. Is it any use for DD do you think ? I have other dressing up bits I think but I need to take my life in my hands to get into the cupboard they are hanging in so it may be a slow process. :o

Please feel free to say no, I wont be offended if you do !!

Interested to hear how the bureau turns out x

  • Thanks for posting Robin & Mrs P! You know I just went through the shopping basket and I can tell you know £25 of it is not needed :o so I think I did ok with all the organic meat :rotfl: The wine, chocolate & sweeties are the bits that have made the price go up :o:D But hey I don't have an entertainment fund as such so I reward us in wine and chocolate (and marmite for DD- YUK):p

I have been through the budget with a fine tooth comb and have borrowed money from 'pots' to put into my account so that on pay day I will actually have ALL my money that I will get in dribs and drabs over the month all at once. Then when I get my child tax credits and my child benefit I will pay back each pot that i've borrowed from. This way I can re-start my 'envelope system' Where by I will go and take out the cash tomorrow (and today as have limit on how much I can take out) and I have allocated money (cash) for petrol, dance, jung fu & food (what's left from my budget after tomorrow's shop) I intend on going old school again for at least one month and buying everything in cash. I Will have to remember to transfer money as and when it comes in to the bank back to correct funds but i'm hoping it will work. I've not included the tenancy money in this. Her £525 will be separated into pots such as emergency, funds for her house, dog fund and car funds. I think it's best I don't rely on her at all, and I now just use her money to pay pots. I was using wages before to top up all my pots on the first of the month but then borrowing from here there and everywhere when money ran out so I am hoping this system will work for me (does it make sense?!) I'm quite excited to be doing the envelope system again, it worked really well when i did it before but I stopped for one reason or another and went back to the debit card. Sticking with cash for now think it's the way forward!

(MRS) Pinot (have ordered a bottle for tomorrow btw ;)) I would love the dressing up clothes please :T:j DD would love them :j
