Good afternoon :j
Dh is coming down with the horrid bug we've all day, but I feel slightly better today :T:j
The washing up liquid was a success :j:j MUCH better than the last one (which I didn't have a problem with but it was a little scummy and you had to rinse well) This one leaves the glasses sparklingwill share recipe in next post :T
Also been moving furniture round the living room as i've got lots from the little upcycling business we have planned just sat here until we do it up and sell it! I've given it a clean and polish (homemade polish super shiny now) and tried to place them around the room so they weren't all just bulked in one corner as they were before :T Looking much better....not finished though as i'm having a banana and yoghurt break :rotfl::p
Oh guess what. Tenant DIDN'T pay!.....not really surprised actually. But so not impressed. Told her she needs to get it paid or else!
Have cleaned and restored my leather sofas today with a bargain cleaner from home bargains :T they look lovely now, they were hand me downs from my dad so they weren't perfect to begin with but seeing as they are 7ft long each and are the main thing you see in the room I thought I ought to have a go at sprucing them up a little
Right will post those recipes and get back to cleaning before school run! :AMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. You will need:
essential oils (either tea tree, lavender, orange, lemon are good)
a squirty bottle to keep it in (old f@iry one with labels off is my choice :rotfl:)
borax
soap flakes (or a tbls of grated household soap will do)
white vinegar
Boil the kettle, when boiled pour 1l into a jug. Put in 1tbl spoon of borax, 1 tbls of soap flakes and stir. Let it cool a little and pour a good glug of vinegar in (sorry i didn't measure it I kind of made it up as i went alongat a guess i'd say 4-5 tbl spoon of it).
leave it cool completely (5-6 hours till it's properly cold) when it's cold put 6-8 drops of essential oil in. I used lavender, lemon & tea tree(i'm sure one will do the job put i couldn't choose so used them all lol) ....give it a good stir. Whilst it was cooling it should have thickened up a little and you must make sure it is cold before adding essential oil or else it will just evaporate.
pour into squeezy bottle and use as you would any other brand :TMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. You will need:
squeezy bottle/jar
olive oil
lemon (fresh or oil)
vinegar
Get your jar/bottle. Put equal measure of vinegar and olive oil in (half:half) and then put in some lemon juice (I used essential oil so used 10 drops...i did make quite a bit though so if you are making a small amount up use common sense as to how much lemon to put in)
Mix before use!
Use a cloth to put on to your furniture making sure you work it in really well. Do the whole piece then go back with a buffer/dry cloth and give it a quick rub in circular movements and it leaves it lovely and shiny and the oil moisturises the wood.
I've just done 4 pieces of furniture and they all look 10x better than my usual p1edge :eek: (i've been meaning to make this for ages but have only just used all my cans from SM's up! I will continue to use this now it looks lovely) An easier recipe is just to mix oil and lemon but i believe the vinegar helps to lift the dirt off far better than just oil by itself so cleaning and moisturising in one :T

HEY me again
!
I've been a good girl and listed a few things for sale on fb selling page. I like to try there first as it's free pick up/drop off and localand then I might try ebay. I usually make more by selling local though, people will generally pay what I ask and not 99p for everything!
Dinner done and cleaned away and leftovers put in containers for ds1 lunch tomorrow so saves on sandwiches.
I've been waiting for dh to turn up but he's stuck at work! Which means I have to take the dog out now for a walk- in the rain. Bah Humbug! 15th May :j I've made it half way through the month and i'm not yet broke (as I was last month) and I still have food in the cupboards (that I didn't have last month either!) AND the tenant still hasn't paid! So thank god I was more frugal with the money this month (and am thankful i did a HUGE shop at the beginning of the month too now  )
Had words with tenant again. She knows i'm far from happy with her having had the HB and then not given me a penny !!! Perhaps I should direct her to this site and show her how to do a budget?!
Rain here this morning. Joys.
DD went into school crying, again! I don't know what's up with her but the last few weeks she has gone in crying or telling me she doesn't want to goI don't know what to say to her to help. Hate seeing her so upset. She's one of the youngest in the class and I sometimes think that maybe she's just not ready, but I guess we have to all let go at some point
....I am hoping I don't have a repeat of this next year with DS2 as he is the youngest i've been told in the year (DD is third youngest in the year) and I just think they aren't emotionally mature enough sometimes to leave mummy all day. DD gets so tired by Wednesday that the last few days are a nightmare in the week.
Anyway. Checked bank, it's depleted. It's looking sorry for itself and wants feeding. I have enough to pay the remaining bills and that is about it. Not sure if I have enough money for fuel & food yet (have another trip planned to mums in 2 weeks for my sister's birthday so need petrol for it) as I said food wise we are o.k so if worst comes to worst I will just top up fresh and we'll have to eat out of the store cupboard. It's at times like this that I get angry with my tenant for putting me in this position, whilst she is on benefits, has her rent & council tax paid for her and jollys it up at uni.
Right i'm off I am feeling delicate this morning after consuming half a bottle of wine last night. I can usually hack that much (and much more) but with this tummy bug i've had it probably wasn't the best thing to drink and now tummyache has resumed after me thinking it had bluggered off!
