Why would you waste your time telephoning over such an issue?
You would have to set up a paper trail by way of an email or letter - others here have an email address or two. How about quoting David Dunford's info above and again asking - exactly how did this firm get my data and why did you release it?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I agree it's annoying. But think about it this way. It's a hell of a lot more annoying for the parking cowboys when they spend £2.50 getting your details from DVLA, then maybe a fiver on postage, only for you to ignore them and pay them..... NOTHING. Now THAT'S annoying!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Not according to the DVLA even paper applications regarding parking tickets the RK details will only be given to AOS members!
Dear esmerobbo,
I can confirm that a private parking company needs to be a member of the BPA’s approved operator scheme before the DVLA will release vehicle keeper details to them for the purpose of issuing tickets or chasing non payment.
I hope this helps with your queries.
Kind regards
David Dunford

And do you trust the DVLA to be telling the truth? :rotfl:
Would be interesting to see a figure of how many rejections they have made as a percentage of total applications0 -

They still ought to know better than to lie in writing.
All we need now is evidence that a non-AOS company has received registered keeper details. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Then they can blame "an admin failure" and "action will be taken to pretend it happening again"0

Of course. Which means that, next time, they'll have to come up with a different reason plus a new one for why it happened again. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

You need to put something in writing. Why not cc it to your MP as well. They might give it some actual attention then.Je Suis Cecil.0

Telephoning is a waste of time, you just speak to a monkey as you have found out. Writing is equally a waste of time if you expect an individual reply.
Unless perhaps you do as George Clooney above says and combine it with a complaint to your M.P. You could also complain to the Information Commissioner; and, I believe, there is a provision in the Data Protection Act to sue for damages for unauthorised release of your data.0
