Xmas shopping almost done and I've not used a CC for a single gift. Used all the vouchers I'd claimed from aurveys etc to buy a few and it felt wonderful knowing the presents were technically 'free'. Already started for next year and will store all the vouchers up until its time to shop for Xmas 2008.
Still on my quest for promotion and got a letter offering me an interview for one on 14th December, not feeling too positive but at least I can say I tried.
Cheers

3 interviews!!!! Well done you... Let us know how you get on.
You are doing well on the money front too... One overdraft gone and the debt has not gone up with buying christmas presents as you had made provsions for them... Well done :T0 -
Not been on all week due to my swotting for interviews - didn't get them. But got another interview tomorrow and still not heard from 2 others I applied for! Fingers crossed. 2 were advertised yesterday so will apply there too.
My boss is leaving so person under her is temporarily covering her job and tomorrow there are interviews to cover that job so depending on who gets it there could be a short term promotion for me in my place until a new boss is in place.LBM 03/07 £44k:eek: DFD 31/12/17 :A 12/17 £2545.50

Ended up with 4 interviews in 3 days! Was totally shattered but sadly
didn't get any of them! Got another one to apply for and there is definitely a temporary one in my own school so throwing my hat into the ring for that one too.
Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and that 2008 is everything you wish for. It's my BIG 30 in the summer and I'm hoping to clear as much debt by then as possible. My bro and his fiance have just bought a new house and have talked about postponing the wedding until 2009 which, and this is terrible, I'd be very grateful for as it means I really can focus on throwing every penny at my debts.LBM 03/07 £44k:eek: DFD 31/12/17 :A 12/17 £2545.50

Hi. You are doing well. If you are brave enough you could ask for feedback on your interviews to see why they didn't choose you.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Hi. You are doing well. If you are brave enough you could ask for feedback on your interviews to see why they didn't choose you.
I agree try and pluck up courage to ask for feedback. No point doing all your hard work doing prep for the interviews without knowing what bits where good and where you could improve.
You are doing so well, keep up the good work. As it is your DFD is 2012 which now is only 4 years away and you will still be very young then and now that you are a true DFW you will get that date down by snowballing as things end and throwing that 'extra' money at the remaining debt. And also as I've said before hopefully your credit rating will improve so you can get them awfully high interest rates transferred to something better so again that will help your date too. Remember if you throw any 'extra' money at your debt, even if its only £10 try and pay it off the higher interest debts if possible.
So with your new found skills on money/debt I am sure your date will be brought forward. Look how far you have come in the last 6 mths£6271.85 paid off in that 6 mths if my calculations are correct?! Well done.....

Thanks guys, we get automatic feedback as in my job they phone you at the end of the day they interview and give you the feedback on the phone.
Job 1 - Said I needed to add more examples to support my answer. A teacher who worked in thast school got that job and she'd been teaching 30 yeears and ahd been promoted before. SO wan't too disheartened.
Job 2 - Was a disaster, headteacher said she knew I'd had a rotten day, I hit a brick wall and nonsense came out my mouth. An internal candidate got that post too!
Job 3 - (Straight after job 2) - Feedback was all positive, she asked if I'd got the job at the other interview in same day as panel said if I'd given the quality of interview at another school I gave to them then I'd surely have got it. This school had lecturers being interviewed and lots of people more experienced than me (its one of the best within the council). She told me the little 'extras' the successful petrson said.
Job 4 - Said great interview but lacked experience for the post in her school which is very small and therefore I'd be expected to deputise for headteacher in her absence. Which is fair enough I guess.
My boss said they were just nit-picking and that there's always someone way out infront before the interviews even start but my time will come!
I can't believe I've paid off that much in such a short time. I've 2 loans ending thsi years and going to throw that straight to CCs. Also doing some challenges on here which I'm using for Xmas 2008. Got a little pot of savings accruing too for things like car insurance, road tax not enough to pay them all but should will not have to use CC (will just tighten my belt an extra notch that month).
Thanks Again Guys

Just a little update!
Bro has confirmed his wedding will not be until Summer 2009 due to buyingthe new house (he's very sensible with money so doesn't want to struggle with furnishing their pad). This is music to my ears as it means I really can focus that bit extra on my debts this year.LBM 03/07 £44k:eek: DFD 31/12/17 :A 12/17 £2545.50
